SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a simple, unambitious platformer that pales in comparison to its peers in every way besides all the charm and humor it borrows from the iconic show. Whether it’s the incredibly basic jumping and swinging that becomes irksomely repetitive within minutes, or the humdrum combat that has you mopping up the same handful of enemies hundreds of times without anything to meaningfully differentiate the first battle from the last, Cosmic Shake badly lacks the imagination and creativity for which the show is known. The original cast’s voice performances and silly gags are certainly a highlight, but if you were hoping for something akin to Super Mario Odyssey in a pineapple under the sea, sadly this falls far short.

Bob l’Eponge Cosmic Shake est un petit jeu de plateforme correct sans grande prétention. Le titre de THQ préfère capitaliser un maximum sur son accessibilité tout public et le fan service que de chercher à offrir une aventure dense et profonde. Un choix qui ravira certainement les plus jeunes, mais beaucoup moins les fans plus âgés. Le jeu se contente en effet du strict minimum concernant sa structure, son écriture et son gameplay et s’il réussit bien ce qu’il entreprend, on ne peut que pester de constater qu’il en fait vraiment trop peu. Et c’est dommage, l’univers s’y prête pourtant bien.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is een degelijke game die vooral de grote fans zal aanspreken. Voor jonge spelers is dit een perfecte introductie voor platformers, vanwege de eerder simplistische gameplay. De gevechten voelen vaak sloom en saai aan, maar de grappige conversaties en cutscenes maken je toch steeds weer benieuwd naar wat nog komen zal. Normaal zouden we aanbevelen om even te wachten op een mooie korting, maar aangezien The Cosmic Shake te koop is voor nog geen 40 euro valt het zeker aan te raden voor SpongeBob fans.

Un platform game articolato e piuttosto vario, non troppo impegnativo e privo di guizzi particolarmente memorabili. Se vi piace SpongeBob e il suo folle mondo si tratta di un acquisto consigliato: di fianco a una nuova avventura (con divertenti rivisitazioni di personaggi amati grazie al "trucco" del multiverso) c'è un gioco ben strutturato, con aree sorprendentemente grandi che richiedono il giusto tocco di esplorazione, specialmente se iniziate a usare le varie abilità per sbloccare tutte le sezioni segrete.

In definitiva, SpongeBob: The Cosmic Shake è una produzione poco coraggio che, però, racconta una storia classica in modo adeguato. Utilizza un linguaggio semplice, non ricercato, e arriva allo scopo di proporre un racconto riservato ai più piccini e agli adulti, nello specifico agli appassionati delle folli peripezie della spugna. Al netto di un gameplay non totalmente preciso ma comunque coinvolgente, risulta una produzione utile per ingannare l’attesa. Un gioco spensierato, tranquillo e con un modesto comparto grafico.
