On ne pourra pas accuser Castleween de profiter d'halloween pour réaliser un coup médiatique puisque le jeu sort un mois après la fête. Cependant, cela ne l'excuse pas du peu d'intérêt qu'il présente. Même les petits n'enfants à qui il s'adresse risquent de ne pas se passionner pour le titre.

It's worms with most of the fundamental elements removed. What you have is a stripped down puzzle game that may appeal to the niche audience but in all honesty, isn't too much fun to play.

Avec Haven, Travellers Tales a voulu trop en faire et s'est éparpillé dans de trop nombreuses directions. Au final le jeu est riche de différentes phases de gameplay, mais totalement pauvre d'une bonne histoire qui aurait permis de les lier efficacement entre elles. La réalisation et la jouabilité jouent également les troubles-fêtes dans ce titre décidément très moyen.

Un titre réussi sur le plan technique mais également au niveau de son gameplay. On lui reprochera principalement son manque d'accessibilité qui devrait le rendre assez élitiste. Les amateurs du genre seront comblés, pour peu qu'il passent l'éponge sur le manque d'ergonomie d'Haegemonia.

Not quite a platformer, not quite a puzzler, Dragon's Lair attempts to take the classic appeal of the original's "beat a room and then continue" formula and shovel it into a game that relies heavily on platforming elements that just aren't polished enough to be perfect or even strongly competitive. As a platformer it pales in comparison to something like Rayman 2: The Great Escape, still one of our best and only efforts worth mentioning. As an action or an adventure title, it can't hope to a surmount Soul Reaver. As a daredevil, rope swinging, demon hacking, trap avoider, it doesn't best the old Prince of Persia. Still, these comparisons are somewhat frivolous, for though any one part of Dragon's Lair is uncompetitive, its whole is a memorable, nostalgic, vivid, and entertaining ride through an entirely trial and error puzzle broken into some 250 rooms. Every other element of the game is in place to further the challenge, interactivity, and believability of these puzzles, which have themselves been ripped straight from the original. See a puzzle, beat a puzzle, watch a story unfold. It's simplistic and addictive. Take it like this and enjoy it. Take it as the next Heretic II or some kind of beat 'em up meets Mario and be sorely disappointed.
