Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is a game composed of two different genres and not fully committing to either. Doing so makes it not reach the potential I think the game could have had by sticking to simply one. Still, with fun combat and an explorative world, it is a solid experience. One that many gamers will be satisfied with but forget after the holiday season.

Victoria 3 is the kind of game that sucks me in and doesn't let me go, whether I'm trying to turn Hawaii into an anarcho-communist utopia or make Afghanistan the centerpiece of the global economy by monopolizing the opium trade. The scope and depth of its simulation is remarkable. I would need to double the length of this review just to explain the enormity of it in full. And that's only outdone by the fact that it actually runs well. I wish there was a fair bit less overall jank and weird AI behavior taking me out of the illusion, and the warfare system feels very work-in-progress. But that hasn't stopped me from playing it until the sun comes up more than a couple times in the last few weeks. It's a great first step, with an even more promising tomorrow.

Victoria 3 est une franche réussite et un nouveau petit bijou de Paradox Interactive. C'est un véritable plaisir de naviguer pendant 100 ans d'Histoire du monde et de vivre tous les événements qui ont pu forger le monde moderne. Le jeu réussi le pari de jouer avec la véracité historique tout en laissant une belle part de liberté aux joueurs. Que demander de plus ? Difficile de ne pas succomber à cette nouvelle production si l'on a un minimum d'intérêt pour l'Histoire. On ne peut que vous le conseiller malgré la grande complexité du titre et le temps d'adaptation nécessaire pour comprendre son bon fonctionnement.

Victoria 3 è il solito ottimo, complesso e infinito grand strategy targato Paradox Interactive. Rispetto ai suoi "cugini" - come Crusader Kings o Europa Universalis - il titolo si focalizza con più attenzione sugli aspetti economico e sociali di uno Stato e il risultato è una raffinata simulazione ambientata nel XIX secolo. Il finale aperto lascia aperti infiniti approcci e ciascun giocatore potrà costruire così la sua personale nazione, dedita al commercio, al progresso sociale o con uno spirito nazionalista e imperialista.

Marvel Snap è uno strategico a base di carte collezionabili davvero solido e ben fatto, caratterizzato da meccaniche molto immediate ma anche da uno spessore tattico in grado di rendere l'esperienza coinvolgente sul lungo periodo. La gran quantità di personaggi presenti nel roster, le opzioni per il potenziamento delle card, gli scenari con i loro bonus e malus, l'ottima interfaccia e un matchmaking rapidissimo segnano un gran bell'inizio per il nuovo progetto di Ben Brode.

Victoria 3 è un gioco estremamente complesso, forse il più complesso mai affrontato nella mia carriera da videogiocatore in campo di strategici. Il livello di simulazione degli equilibri sociali ed economici è senza precedenti, e il tutto è accompagnato da un livello di sfida estremamente elevato, reso più tollerabile dal fatto che lo scopo del gioco non è sempre quello di conquistare il mondo ma si può benissimo cercare di vederlo come una sorta di sandbox in cui sperimentare liberamente la propria creatività politica. Se siete volete mettere a (dura) prova le vostre capacità di leader di una nazione, avrete sicuramente pane per i vostri denti.
