Submerged: Hidden Depths is a beautiful game that does exactly what it promises. It doesn’t live up to its subtitle, its gameplay and story offering are shallow, but the chill vibes and simple and friendly exploration is worth a look for those looking to find enjoyment in games with no violence-based gameplay.

A game banking on Gamepass and nostalgia goes a bit wrong, Crossfire X could be a cheaper alternative to the big three of the console shooters but besides its bonkers campaign story that goes too fast, nothing really captivates the player-base to stick around after playing it for a few hours. Smilegate should work on it to make it better.

Horizon Forbidden West is an absolute must-play for fans of Horizon Zero Dawn. For those that aren't, this is a fulfilling open-world game so much in content you'll feel full in no time. Take your sweet time experiencing it all, not rush it through, and you'll find that our world really is worth saving.

Underneath OlliOlli World’s fresh new look and banging soundtrack is a unique brand of skateboarding and platformer game that requires some learning, persistence and grit to enjoy it to the fullest. This entry makes strides to invite newcomers to finish the levels thanks to its charming story and other mechanical tweaks. However, it also tends to lead them to attempt deceptively difficult side challenges that may be too frustrating and hard. For hardcore fans of the series who knows what’s up, that same, zen-like experience of flicking sticks for sick tricks remains intact. The gameplay requires mastery of its control scheme and rewards greatly those that successfully do so. OlliOlli World deserves a spot to be amongst the best skateboarding games ever made.

The mighty giants of open-world games have returned to a lackluster performance that serves no purpose other than to make more money. GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition is a pretty bad cash grab, no matter how you look at it. It might play fine if you disregard it’s terrible performance and balancing, but the publisher’s actions before the game’s release makes playing this port all the more bitter than nostalgic.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water won’t exactly light up the horror genre once again with a game that’s quite flawed at times. But it is a nice nostalgic trip to the simpler times where horror games have creativity, and this game embraces its old routes rather well, for good or bad.

Hot Wheels Unleashed provides a solid, if not great arcade racing experience, for kids, die-cast enthusiasts and racing game fans alike. It has some rough edges, but this is a fundamentally well-crafted game that understands what it should be: pure, racing fun.

WRC 10 feels more like a stopgap title and pales in comparison with their predecessors, with a lackluster performance on current and last gen consoles, an add-on that although gives challenge but feels challenging for the sake of it. It’s not a good showing for a racing series that’s also not having a good year as well.

Rustler is an interesting concept that kinda falls flat when you boil down the game towards the game being another indie top-down open-world game. There are some highlights here and there but besides its setting, it doesn’t really pop up that much as the game that they paid homage to.

Road 96 is the road-tripping game that I hope people get to play. Its story beats are just sublime and its randomization of your journey towards the endgame makes it highly replayable and fans of narrative-driven games would get a kick out of this one.

F1 2021 is still one of the best simcade racers on the market. Some of the kinks from the past games still haunt the series, even more so with the Next-Gen versions having lots of bugs but still, there’s nothing like the Formula One game being the gold standard for a licensed racing title.

Samurai Warriors 5 brings new ideas and focus to a series that makes learning about Feudal Japan somehow enjoyable with its outlandish display of mowing down enemies like it’s butter. Its casual and easy entry is great for those who are joining the video gaming sphere and we welcome your stay in this weird series.

Wildermyth’s epic tales evoke the fun of a tabletop role-playing session with strong fundamental gameplays inspired by the great games in the strategy tactics/tactical RPG genre. With its charming presentation, a strong gameplay loop and its well-executed story generation system, the tales of Wildermyth will hook you into saving the world again and again. Just to see your beloved characters in new adventures. And then share these wild tales of myths and legends with friends. Wildermyth excellently replicates the experience of a table-top RPG with its own spin and flair. What a wonderful surprise of a game to be released in 2021.

Chivalry 2’s large-scale battles are chaotic fun, and it’s built under a solid foundation of a complex but easily learned combat system. Layer in a bit of silly gags to offset the serious tragedy of war and the gory violence and you get a recipe for a fun multiplayer game. Chivalry 2 can stand triumphant. It’s one wonderful medieval combat game worth your time and money.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a sequel that builds upon the first game whilst making it more fun for newcomers to feel the part of a Sniper Assassin. Shooting folks at long range is fun stuff and its structure makes it quite easy to drop in and out of the game without any fuss. A good pick-me-up if you need some steam to let off.

In short, MotoGP 21 delivers as the quintessential game for this series about fast bikes going fast. Its cheap price tag doesn’t hurt and if you have a Next-Gen console, it is one of the best benchmark 60fps racing games that you can have on the market right now. And that is good enough for me.
