The Bigs 2 may not be the perfect baseball game, but it delivers enough pure fun to keep you playing with your friends for hours. Become A Legend starts fun and gets more and more annoying the deeper you get. The mini-games serve the game well for the most part, even if some feel out of place. There’s no doubt that The Bigs 2 is an improvement over the original with bigger and louder mechanics built into the gameplay that help enhance things on the field. I advise those who enjoyed the first Bigs to head out and pick this one up for another fun trip to the ballpark.

Infernal: Hell's Vengeance seemingly has all the elements to make for a great B movie type of videogame experience. It's got hammy dialogue brought to life in exaggerated style by the voice actors, a plot involving heaven versus hell and a God that apparently can't see through planets, and it's all set up so you can charge through a mostly linear stage progression popping foes in the face with bullets and demonic powers. Thanks to a fidgety character control and aiming system, half-baked cover and evasion mechanics, repetitive enemy encounters and some underdeveloped special abilities that are more of an inconvenience than anything else, Infernal's appeal gets stamped out amidst its many missteps.

As a prequel, Bound in Blood does a good job of presenting the characters, their storylines and what eventually leads back into the franchise history. It also packs in a ton of fast action, loads of explosions and a heavy dose of duels against opponents that want to take you to Boot Hill. Unfortunately, the repetitive nature of the missions, coupled with some technical issues, really keeps this title from standing out more. What's worse, the constant freezing whenever the game saves checkpoints breaks up the action, which really breaks you out of the flow of the gameplay, and is simply inexcusable.

This disparity between excessive accuracy in the military hardware and the broken nature of the mission elements leads us to wonder if developers of games like this aren't being overly ambitious. I love having dozens and dozens of realistic weapons and vehicles and highly detailed geography and ballistics modeling, but the unintuitive interface required to manage it all and the irregularities in the scripting make it hard to appreciate those qualities. ArmA II's modest score merely reflects my attempt to resolve its undeniable merits with its equally obvious faults. At times I feel that my score is too harsh, but at other times I feel it's too generous. Over time, the developers and the mod community will likely iron out most of the scripting problems, leaving the inelegant interface as the game's worst flaw.

My experience with America's Army 3 has been very rewarding thus far. It feels like the game has an older, more mature player base than what you'd encounter in a contemporary console shooter, and it's a game that will appeal to those who like realism and tactics. With that said, there are still plenty of problems, such as glitchy animations and weapons bugs, and the entire game could probably get a tightening of its network code to reduce lag. Still, it's hard to argue with the experience or the price (which is free). This is a shooter that's more intelligent than most and that requires more teamwork and coordination, but that makes the rewards of success that much more enjoyable.

The History Channel's a relatively recent addition to the gaming industry, as its signature branding's only been seen in game stores for the past two years or so -- starting with the requisite World War II fare like Battle of the Pacific, but then traveling a bit further back through time to bring us tales of war and conquest from some of our world's most prominent past societies. But this story of the Roman Empire falls flat, as the official History logo does little to lift it out of its mediocrity in design. Some strategy fans may want to give it a look since it's priced at a reasonable level of just 20 bucks, but most gamers will want to steer clear -- its rough interface with touchy touch controls, confusing navigation, hands-off combat and mostly frustrating mini-games all come together to form a title that is, ultimately, better left in the past.

I've played some truly terrible Sudoku DS games, and I've played some good ones. This one is a good one. It benefits by being the first one to market as a downloadable version, too – having the game "at the ready" as an executable in your DSi system without the need for cartridge swapping is a really nice thing indeed. It's hard to get excited about Sudoku nowadays, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a recommended experience. For a pick-up-and-play experience, Sudoku Master's a solid DSi addition.

As there are so many fantastic fighting games emerging recently -- especially the incredible BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger -- it's difficult for me to give a wholehearted recommendation to King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match (especially because the game hit the PS2 months ago). With that said, this game will probably please fans of the old-school stuff, especially considering the fact that Ultimate Match includes the original King of Fighters '98 in the download. And for 800 points, you're getting the same game that launched on the PS2 for ten bucks cheaper.

Water Warfare is definitely aimed at younger and family gamers, but that works in its favor and fills a gap in the Wii's library. Sometimes casual games suffer from a lack of quality, but that isn't the case here. This is a full-featured first-person shooter that is fun as both a single- and multiplayer game. It doesn't do anything new in terms of gameplay, but its kid-friendly premise makes it unique. Water Warfare is recommended for kids and families that game together.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor isn’t a game I see topping sales charts or flying off shelves this year, and really that’s unfortunate; it should be. Blending a mix of classic strategy RPG gaming with first-person traditional role playing battles and a demon collection system that feels like a ramped up version of Pokemon or Dragon Warrior Monsters, Devil Survivor is easily ranked amongst the top tier of each of its respective genres. There are certainly things I’d like to see improved upon – there’s no online or wireless functionality (a pity, since the game has a virtual auction system), most of the art is pretty static or low-frame, and the effects aren’t much to look at – but the core offering is one that could, and should, keep hardcore RPG fans busy for dozens of hours. There are few games I review where I immediately want to go back and play them over again, and in the last month alone Atlus has been responsible for two of them. Devil Survivor blends a gripping story with fresh gameplay concepts and a whole lot of depth, all of which fuse together to create one of the best RPGs of the year thus far. Hopefully this is just the beginning of Atlus’s DS support for the Shin Megami Tensei series.

Reviewers like to say that bad licensed games are for hardcore fans only, but that's a load of crap. Fans should be pissed about this game. I tried to think of the positive parts of the Half-Blood Prince, so I could write a balanced review, and all I could come up with was the fact that I like Harry Potter (not like that, shut up). When the only positive part of your game is that it has a trademark attached to it, then you've made a bad game. It's not that Harry Potter is broken, it's that EA has managed to take a world brimming with magic and turn it into the most tedious, mundane game possible.
