I feel like I’ve touched upon everything I love about Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, and yet I still can’t seem to say enough good things about this amazing remake. Starting from an already-outstanding PlayStation 2 game, Vanillaware went above and beyond to realize its full potential with the addition of more role-playing elements, a near-perfect framerate, stunning graphics, better maps, and a more vigorous combat mechanic. Even after I finished playing, I wanted to go back and explore more areas, fight more enemies and collect more loot. It’s a continuous loop of fun, and I hope it never ends.

Con Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Vanillaware ha rielaborato un titolo che già ai tempi aveva mostrato grandi potenzialità, trasformandolo in un'esperienza straordinaria. Artisticamente sublime, ludicamente profondo ed emotivamente trascinante, l'ultima creatura del Sol Levante è un titolo immancabile per ogni videogiocatore: davvero eccezionale.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir es una mejora más que amplia del juego original de 2007, ofreciendo su mejor cara en cuanto a gráficos y estabilidad, pero también retocando la jugabilidad, equilibrio y posibilidades del juego. En resumidas cuentas, estamos ante una aventura de acción con muchos toques roleros que entra por los ojos y se disfruta con el mando en las manos. Sus combates son frenéticos y entretenidos, sus sistemas de juego profundos y la historia que se nos narra merece la pena ser escuchada. Puede que por el camino encontremos algo de repetición, pero este es el único gran lunar de una producción que llega de puntillas, y que por su aspecto bidimensional puede llegar a ser obviada por una parte del público.

Siamo di fronte ad un titolo che lascerà il segno. Nonostante sia ormai passato quasi un decennio dalla sua uscita, nessuno degli elementi del gioco accusa il peso del tempo, e quelle piccole magagne o meccaniche meno riuscite dell'originale sono state risolte. Per tutti coloro che sono schiavi del passato, è addirittura possibile giocare la versione classica, così da mettere d'accordo veramente chiunque. L'unico consiglio che ci sentiamo di darvi, è quello di giocarlo ad un livello di difficoltà idoneo, è lì che Odin Sphere mette in mostra tutto il suo vero potenziale. In attesa del prossimo, attesissimo titolo di George Kamitani e soci, non c'è modo migliore di attendere e gioire.

Da quanto avete potuto leggere fino ad ora, non ci siamo sforzati tanto a nascondere il nostro entusiasmo e la nostra appassionata predilezione per questo piccolo capolavoro del passato. Non siamo soliti incoraggiare il prolificare di remastered di ogni tipo o di collection varie, ma quando sul banco degli imputati ci sono tali pilastri delle passate generazioni, non possiamo che prostrarci alla loro magnificenza, gesto che questa volta siamo sicuri sia stato ripagato più che in abbondanza. Il titolo infatti è rinato a nuova vita sulle ultime generazioni di console di casa Sony, e come avete potuto vedere il risultato finale è meraviglioso. Una storia bella ed avvincente, confezionata in una splendida estetica, ed accompagnata da una colonna sonora d’eccezione, cosa altro si può volere di più da un gdr d’azione? A prescindere quindi, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir si rivela essere sia una ghiotta occasione per recuperare una gloria del vecchio monolite nero di Sony, che una splendida opportunità per rigiocare uno dei migliori titoli del suo genere che ci sia in circolazione. Che cosa ci fate ancora qui? Via via! A comprare ed a giocare ad Odin Sphere, raus!

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir es uno de esos remakes, o revisiones, que están más que justificados. Los cambios aplicados a la obra de Vanillaware la llevan a la excelencia, aplicando justo los retoques necesarios para dotar de más ritmo a su atractivo combate y más dinámica a su gestión de recursos. Únele a ello el poder ver en todo su esplendor los fenomenales diseños del estudio japonés y tienes una obra más que recomendada, que ofrece frescura al género del RPG, incluso nueve años después, combinando todo con combates beat’em up rápidos y orgánicos. Una obra que, si no lo hizo ya, pasará ahora a la historia.

Odin Spere Leifthrasir est un véritable remake de la version PS2 sortie il y a 8 ans déjà. Il propose un sérieux affinage des magnifiques graphismes d'origine en 2D et un nouveau gameplay plus nerveux que son aîné, inspiré des dernières productions Vanillaware. Son scénario en cinq parties propose toujours la même passionnante narration, avec cinq héros aux pouvoirs distincts, mais cet aspect induit forcément un minimum de redondance dans les lieux et les ennemis croisés sur notre chemin. Malgré peu de véritables ajouts en termes de nouveaux modes de jeu, on ne peut que tomber sous le charme de cette oeuvre, que l'on soit un vieux briscard des productions Vanillaware ou un novice en la matière, ce qui pourrait amener pas mal de joueurs vers Muramasa et Dragon's Crown. En attendant le très prometteur 13 Sentinels, il n'y absolument aucune raison de ne pas se jeter sur ce remake magique qui permet à un titre déjà culte de rentrer encore un peu plus dans la légende...

Odin Sphere era un gioco già notevole ai tempi del suo esordio per PS2, ma ora grazie all’opera di restauro di Vanillaware, torna su console di attuale generazione con uno dei migliori remake mai visti fino ad ora. Sia nel caso che abbiate giocato all’originale o che ve lo siate perso (male, molto male) ci sentiamo di consigliare il gioco senza riserve.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir goes to great lengths to take an often overlooked gem from the PlayStation 2 era and make it new and relevant for the currently supported Sony consoles. The 2D platforming controls are smooth and responsive, and the combat is fast paced and fluid. While classified as an RPG, this has some of the better executed combat action seen in modern 2D games. The story is well developed and the pacing over several chapters from different viewpoints give it a satisfactory level of depth. A JRPG combined with an action platformer setup seems like a strange marriage, but this is a perfect example of how to pull off a seemingly unlikely combination. Vanillaware took an already great game, revamped it to feel more contemporary without losing any of its charm and made improvements across the board. Switching between the Refined and Classic mode make it apparent how many improvements were actually made. And for those that think it was fine how it was, that version is also included with this release.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir è il remake definitivo: migliora praticamente ogni punto di forza del gioco originale e corregge quasi tutti i suoi difetti. Mentre l’inventario risulta ancora macchinoso, il combat system, che al tempo lasciava un po’ a desiderare, è stato quasi del tutto rivisitato ed oggi è molto più divertente e dinamico. Forte di una superba direzione artistica, una trama avvincente e caratterizzata da temi piuttosto seri come vendetta e gelosia, e non per ultimo un gameplay accattivante, la più recente fatica di Vanillaware rappresenta un must per gli amanti del genere RPG e senza dubbio un titolo da provare per chiunque si ritenga un vero giocatore. Se non l’avete giocato a suo tempo su PS2, e siete in possesso di una qualunque console recente di casa Sony, stavolta non avete scusanti per non farlo vostro.

Es ist nicht nur so, dass man Odin Sphere seine acht Jahre kaum ansieht – es spielt sich dank ebenso feiner wie durchdachter Neuerungen auch so gut, als wäre es dieser Tage zum ersten Mal erschienen! Begeistert bin ich vor allem von den rasanten Gefechten gegen viele kleine und zahlreiche große Feinde, in denen schnelle Angriffe ebenso wichtig sind wie kluges Verteidigen, Ausweichen und der sinnvolle Einsatz von Zaubern, Spezialangriffen und Tränken. Weil man Letztere eigenhändig braut und auch die Zutaten selbst beschafft, ist man stets motiviert, selbst das zehnte und zwanzigste Mal durch bereits bekannte Umgebungen zu pflügen. Selbst die Charakterentwicklung ist an das Sammeln von Zutaten und Aufspüren von Rezepten gebunden; das erdet dieses Abenteuer auf angenehme Weise. Das häufige Abgrasen bekannter Schauplätze sowie die starre Unterteilung der Levels in kleine Abschnitte wirken zwar ermüdend, viele Kämpfe gleichen sich, da man die meisten Gegner auf ähnliche Weise bekämpft und die gnatschige Erzählung ist kein Höhepunkt des Videospielkinos – ohne Schwächen ist Odin Sphere also auch heute nicht. Viel können sie diesem hervorragend gealterten Action-Rollenspiel allerdings nicht anhaben!

Odin Sphere leifthrasir est un classique immanquable si vous n’avez pas eu la chance de toucher à l’opus PS2. De plus, Vanillaware ne s’est pas fichu de nous en peaufinant leur bébé pour l’embellir alors qu’il était déjà plus que bon. Toutefois, on recommande aux connaisseurs du titre de bien réfléchir avant le prendre plein tarif. En tout cas, si vous voulez vous faire ou refaire un bon action-RPG 2D, c’est celui qu’il vous faut.
