Per una volta, accettate il consiglio: lasciate perdere il voto a fondo pagina. Non c’è niente di più riduttivo che voler giudicare un titolo come Deadly Premonition secondo parametri schematici. Il titolo di Swery, anche in questa edizione per PS3, resta un prodotto controverso, afflitto da numerosi problemi di matrice tecnica, criptico e straniante. Ma allo stesso tempo è un videogioco incredibilmente affascinante, proprio per il suo insistito anticonformismo. Accettare di vestire i panni dell’agente York significa scendere a compromessi con un sistema di controllo impreciso e con un comparto grafico che ha più a che fare con una PS2 che con una PS3. Ciononostante è facilissimo restare incollati allo schermo, nel tentativo di scoprire identità e movente dell’assassino, mentre si scoprono i mille segreti di una cittadina viva e vibrante, e ci si scontra con personaggi tratteggiati in maniera eccellente. Deadly Premonition è una perla imperfetta, che risplende grazie a una sceneggiatura impareggiabile surreale, sopra le righe, attentissima ai dettagli. Consigliatissimo a chi non ha paura degli esperimenti e vuole giocare qualcosa di davvero unico. Se avete già avuto il piacere su Xbox 360, invece, potete tranquillamente rifiutare un secondo giro: le aggiunte di questa Director’s Cut sono piuttosto superflue, e proprio in virtù di questa superficialità nel confezionamento della nuova edizione, nonostante il prezzo budget dobbiamo bacchettare un po' il team di sviluppo.

Aunque sea un nivel abierto, es totalmente lineal y aburrido. Una narrativa de personajes bien definidos y que desempeñan bien su rol «pienso es el único motivo por el que Deadly Premonition ha sido considerado juego de culto»

There’s something in the coffee at Access Games, and it isn’t sugar. Deadly Premonition is totally unique, massively ambitious and batshit crazy. It’s a game where even the bullets don’t mark the walls, yet the protagonist - FBI Agent, Francis York Morgan - has to cope with real-time beard growth that the player can shave off at their whim.

If you’re going to measure Deadly Premonition using traditional gaming yardsticks like graphical fidelity, gameplay challenge, and overall polish, then this Director’s Cut still comes up short of modern standards even with the fixes. Yet despite any obvious technical shortcomings, it succeeds on the strength of its story, its characters, and its countless WTF moments. It doesn’t feature enough new content to interest existing fans, but if you want to find out which side of the love-it-or-hate-it divide you're on, now’s the perfect time to play one of the most memorable and utterly insane survival-horror games ever made in its most accessible form.

Deadly Premonition – dieses Spiel ist ein Widerspruch in sich. Auf der einen Seite ein an Twin Peaks erinnernder Thriller mit schrägen Figuren sowie zahlreichen Anspielungen auf Filme und Spiele. Auf der anderen Seite eine technische Zumutung, die noch schlechter klingt als sie aussieht. Fast drei Jahre nach dem Original ändert der Director’s Cut daran gar nichts. Spielerisch steckt in diesem Relikt, das beinahe zwei Konsolengenerationen alt scheint, allerdings noch immer das Mysteryabenteuer, das Alan Wake ursprünglich sein wollte: Der Alltag der weitläufigen Kleinstadt-Idylle ist glaubwürdiger als der jedes GTA oder Red Dead Redemption! Nein, ein gutes Spiel ist das längst zum Kult erklärte Deadly Premonition auch heute nicht. Die Ehrung zum besten B-Game des Jahres hat es sich aber einmal mehr redlich verdient!

En l'état, on regrettera qu'Alan Wake n'ait pas fusionné avec Deadly Premonition, bien plus ambitieux sur certains points que l'oeuvre de Remedy. Plus proche de Twin Peaks que ne le fut le thriller psychologique finlandais, le soft nippon souffre néanmoins d'un nombre insurmontable de tares empêchant le joueur de se plonger pleinement dans ce monde étrange. En effet, difficile de ressentir de l'empathie pour l'ami Francis tant la technique et le gameplay se veulent rebutants. Au final, Deadly Premonition nous montre bien qu'un jeu vidéo se doit avant tout de trouver un parfait équilibre entre la forme et le fond afin d'éviter que l'oeuvre ne sombre dans un abîme de médiocrité duquel un synopsis, aussi bien rédigé soit-il, ne pourra l'en extirper. Ce n'est malheureusement pas le cas en l'état tant on subit l'aventure plus qu'on ne la vit, ceci étant encore plus vrai avec cette Director's Cut, aussi paradoxal que cela puisse paraître.
