Aliens: Dark Descent podría ser fácilmente el mejor juego de Alien. El problema es que está Isolation por delante. Eso sí, quedarse en un segundo puesto no es moco de pavo. El estudio Tindalos ha hecho un trabajo soberbio, con todas las palabras y en mayúscula. Es divertido, no relega a los aliens a simples masillas que disparar y empequeñece la sensación de épica en pos de la opresión y la supervivencia. Son detallitos perfectos para Alien. Si Isolation era la lucha de una persona contra uno de estos seres, como Alien: El Octavo Pasajero; Dark Descent es como la Aliens de James Cameron. Tan buena como la original, pero apuesta por enfoques diferentes. Incluso puede que uno te guste más, pero son proyectos sobresalientes. En definitiva, un recomendado como pocos.

Aliens: Dark Descent is an excellent real-time tactics game mixed with survival horror and arguably the best Aliens game around. Excellent tactical action in a world ever-succumbing to the Xenomorph threat, you will find resources scarce, leading to difficult decisions, ones made all the more difficult when time is also a factor. Add on an engaging enough story and an excellent atmosphere, and you have a game that I can't help but recommend to anybody and everybody.

Aliens: Dark Descent is een aanrader voor fans van het genre, maar ook van het universum. Het verhaal is boeiend en de game mechanics zitten goed. Er zit ook wel wat diepgang in de verschillende elementen wat het allemaal plezierig maakt. Enkele bugjes zijn wel terug te vinden, maar niks gamebrekend of storend. Het camerasysteem mocht wel ietsje beter en zo ook de voicelines die je marines toeroepen, want het is teveel chatter.

We enjoyed doing a review for Aliens: Dark Descent because it is truly one of the best Alien games in years. The combination of tactical gameplay with a brand-new story and base management makes this a must-buy. While it is rough around some edges, it isn’t so bad, and we’re sure the developers will polish its issues. Still, it is a great game that immerses you in the Alien universe. The atmosphere is one of the best we’ve seen, and the feeling of managing a squad of Colonial Marines keeps improving as the story progresses. We hope to see more of this game and maybe the beginning of a new franchise. If the developers have plans for this game, sign us up because we can’t wait to board the Odago again and take our squad for some Xenomorph hunting.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a fantastic, robust extension of the Aliens franchise that puts players in the middle of hardcore xenomoroph action. Through purposeful storytelling and fantastic callbacks to the Aliens franchise, this RTS features many tactical opportunities for fans of the genre. Game mechanics, like xenomorph aggression, help to keep pressure on players in horror fashion. Large mission maps that can be returned to again and again provide extra lore collectibles and side objectives that allow you to grow our command for better support. You start with barebones resources, but can level up marines and the technology they use with every successful mission. With varying marine loadouts, weapons upgrades and xeno technology at play, there’s an almost endless combination of tactics at your disposal in an ever changing mission that reacts to decisions. An interesting original story keeps players guessing as they uncover difficult truths that indicate sabotage through xenomorph infestation. From new xeno-types never seen before, to cultists, Weyland Yutani (they’re the worst) rearing its head and more, Dark Descent covers all the thematic bases. Any fan of the franchise will appreciate the narrative twists, humor and technical themes that are typical of Aliens. While gameplay and aesthetics have issues, nothing is game-breaking to the point that it interferes heavily with the experience. Players should note the possibility of game crashes and bugs, but future updates and patches could easily address these problems. Overall, Aliens: Dark Descent is an original game worthy of any strategy fan’s time that also lovingly expands upon one of Sci-Fi’s most important franchises.

Aliens : Dark Descent a beaucoup de qualités, et autant de défauts. Côté pile, c'est un jeu qui a pris des risques payants avec son gameplay nerveux – gérer son commando en temps réel donne des sueurs froides et des bouffées d'adrénaline... quand ça marche. Côté face, les bugs et les sauvegardes aléatoires rendent la progression parfois frustrante, surtout avec la permadeath. Ce qui nous fait pardonner ces défauts ? L'ambiance incroyable. L'amour des films, qui inspirait déjà Alien : Isolation. Oh cette sensation d'être traqué en permanence ! La Reine Alien et ses projos bleus ! Le chat tigré de l'unité de soins psy ! Sans oublier les nouvelles créatures et la secte des adorateurs de Xénomorphes, un twist créatif qui varie objectifs et gameplay. Une belle lettre d'amour aux films et au genre tactique, si vous êtes prêt à en pardonner les fautes d'orthographe.

Aliens Dark Descent è un ottimo gioco di strategia in tempo reale nonostante i suoi piccoli difetti ci metterà alla prova per far sopravvivere in un ambiente ormai diventato ostile alla vita umana per poter poi riuscire a fuggire senza provocare l’estinzione degli esseri umani. Il gioco a livello grafico è impeccabile, le ambientazioni riuscirebbero a stupire anche un giocatore che non ha mai conosciuto il franchise di Alien e a farlo immergere in questo mondo crudele e senza pietà. Il gameplay può sembrare semplice al primo impatti a più avanti si procede più ci si accorge di quanto i nemici possano essere forti, soprattutto se in gruppo e anche un semplice errore può portare alla morte di tutta la squadra o una mancata organizzazione quando ci si trova all’interno della della Otago può portare alla vittoria degli Xenomorfi. Quindi, vi consigliamo Aliens Dark Descent? Assolutamente si, il gioco è molto interessante e sicuramente potrà essere apprezzato sia da i fan del franchise di Alien sia a coloro che non conoscono il medium.

If not for the technical issues, this would be easily one of the best Aliens games ever. And it still probably is. Borrowing from some of the greatest squad-based tactics games and adding its own twists, I don't think I've played anything that really gets what was so cool about Aliens, the film, since Monolith's Aliens Versus Predator 2 way back in 2001. And many have tried! It's the sort of game that makes me wish I could look the other way and praise it even higher, but on balance, I just can't. With a few weeks in the med bay for a bit of extra technical polish, it could shine up nicely into something amazing. As-is, it's still an intriguing, inspired, imaginative survival RTS that I can enthusiastically recommend, but only with some caveats.

Nous replonger dans une licence si forte est toujours un mélange de plaisir et d’appréhension, mais Aliens Dark Descent, bien qu’imparfait, gomme nos craintes sans tarder. La technique mériterait une couche de finition en plus mais on se délecte de nos expéditions en milieu hostile face à ces aliens légendaires avec une expérience au gameplay riche et à la composante RPG plutôt réussie. Aliens Dark Descent nous offre un voyage qu’on a su apprécié malgré une sortie dans une période surchargée de mastodontes en tout genre et ses quelques défauts.
