Gundam Breaker 4 is a solid battle arena action game. The variety of customisation on offer is amazing and should convince more people to pick up the hobby of assembling model kits. The gameplay loop is fine, and there’s a lot of flexibility that allows anyone to pursue their dream Gunpla build without worrying too much about the loot grind. The mission variety is subpar, but everything else in the package is standard. It’s not going to win the hearts of newcomers, but for the series veterans, they probably won’t have it any other way. Gundam Breaker 4 isn’t breaking the mould, and that’s perfectly fine.

Ara: History Untold tweaks the Civilization formula, but doesn’t change it all that much. While it’s a well polished experience, I’m not sure it does enough to push the genre forward, settling instead to do what it does well. That said, good strategy games can be hard to find, and Ara is a good one in a crowded field.

While a gorgeous remake with great quality of life features, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed still suffers by being itself. Outside of the aesthetic and choices, Epic Mickey was a fairly rote platformer with uninteresting challenges and objectives. Rebrushed adds a wonderful new coat of paint, but it’s still the same game at its core.

Malgré un début de jeu un peu compliqué, le temps de s'imprégner d'une ambiance assez sombre, voire austère, Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed laisse éclater sa créativité au fil des heures, avec des séquences de plateformes rendues originales par l'utilisation du pinceau, et une foultitude de détails qui donnent envie de s'y pencher avec sérieux, pour tenter de tout découvrir. Le travail réalisé par le studio autrichien Purple Lamp est à la hauteur du jeu d'origine, et parvient même à effacer toutes les craintes que l'on pouvait avoir sur le gameplay en l'absence de wiimote... et cela en un coup de pinceau.

I commend Enotria: The Last Song for trying to do something different in an oversaturated gamespace, but it just doesn’t quite hit the mark. This game needed a lot more time in the oven before being released, but nowadays it's the norm to ship out incomplete messes for a full price anyways right, so what’s new?

If there is one thing I love almost as much as sequels, it’s spiritual successors. Especially if those spiritual successors have turned into a metroidvania. Listen, I had a decent time with Yars Rising but in the end, it has been a bit forgettable. Little things like waiting for loading screens, having to rewatch animations and dialog due to dying, and just okay platforming have soured me just a bit hence my score. I honestly started the game higher than when I ended. I think there is something here however and would absolutely play a sequel to this game if one comes along. Metroidvania enthusiasts should give it a go if they are looking for shorter experience to add to their gamer résumé.

Si FC 24 avait quelque peu bousculé certaines choses en même temps que son nom, à commencer par le gameplay, FC 25 n'a pas du tout emprunté cette voie. L'apport considérable cette année se nomme Rush, une nouvelle façon de jouer en 5 contre 5 assez bien intégrée dans tous les modes de jeu à côté du classique foot à 11. Car même si le titre intègre le FC IQ, un nouveau système tactique et de placement pour les joueurs IA très intéressant en mode Carrière et Clubs pour les managers en herbe, le gameplay ne bouge presque pas d'un iota par rapport à la saison passée. Les haters du derniers opus risquent donc de passer leur chemin, sauf pour les amoureux de Kings League et de la Ligue 1. Ces derniers pourront se réjouir de voir de nombreux joueurs du championnat de France modélisés contrairement à l'année passée. Cocorico !

Frostpunk 2 va mettre vos idéaux à rude épreuve : la morsure permanente du froid poussera vos talents de gestionnaire et votre boussole morale dans leurs retranchements. Chaque décision que vous prendrez aggravera tel ou tel autre facteur qui aura des répercussions plus tard... vous forçant à affronter les conséquences de ce qui vous avait paru la moins pire option quelques heures avant. Aussi diabolique que prenant, ce jeu de gestion et de survie vous glacera le sang pendant la quinzaine d'heures de sa campagne solo (sans compter le mode bac à sable). Vous ne reviendrez pas indemne de ce voyage. Et vous verrez peut-être les politiciens d'un nouvel œil !

A collection of some of the best metroidvanias in one package, this is a definite recommendation to both fans and newcomers. Though some minor issues hamper it a bit, they are severely outnumbered by the good.

Frostpunk 2 mette il suo gameplay al servizio del racconto e, tramite meccaniche di gioco tutto sommato semplici, riesce a far vivere al giocatore delle emozioni forti e un costante dilemma morale. Dal punto di vista ludico, siamo al cospetto di un city builder senza troppi sussulti, ma è nelle dinamiche politiche e sociali che va ricercata la ragion d'essere del titolo creato da 11 Bit Studios. Frostpunk 2 demolisce qualsiasi velleità di utopia sociale e dimostra come l’uomo sia di per sé un essere irrazionale pronto ad autodistruggersi. I limiti posti al potere decisionale del giocatore funzionano alla perfezione in questa ottica, che è dunque costretto a prendere decisioni difficili e scomode: un livello di strategia molto più appagante e raffinato rispetto a quello proposto dai soliti gestionali.

Funko Fusion Funko Fusion, allo stato attuale, è una piccola grande delusione. Quello che nelle ambizioni doveva segnare la nascita di un potenziale concorrente dei titoli LEGO, nella realtà è un titolo costellato di problemi tecnici che pregiudicano parzialmente l'esperienza ludica stessa. Dal canto suo, l'opera di 10:10 Games è una celebrazione dell'azienda americana e di decine di licenze entrate nell'immaginario collettivo, riprodotte con cura e passione in pieno stile Funko. Al netto di un gameplay semplice ed una ricca offerta contenutistica, il titolo potrebbe regalarvi molte ore di svago... a patto di essere pronti a percorre un semplice vialetto ad oggi fatto di bug e glitch. Building up multiple colonies, researching technologies, and passing laws in Frostpunk 2 is quite the act of plate-spinning. Just about anything you do is bound to make one of your city’s factions angry at you, and a powerful storm can literally and figuratively freeze your whole economy. This is a city-building sequel that might have lost some of the intimacy of the original by thinking bigger, but what it’s gained through its ambitious philosophy of reinvention rather than iteration means you can play it immediately after the original and not feel like you’ve done most of this before.
