Hotshot Racing is a window back into the 1990s, not only in looks but how it plays with some old some fashioned rubber banding. The look and gameplay might not be for everyone, but it's authentic and it's a tonne of fun. I just wish there was more of it. You don't need to be an arcade fan of old to enjoy this, but you'll enjoy it even more if you are.

Thankfully, there’s something about the core feel to the gun-play and movement that mostly makes up for things. Everything is snappy, even with the screen chock full of enemies, gunfire and gigantic bosses. Getting a particularly powerful upgrade early on feels like winning the lottery, while teaming up with 3 players online makes the grind far more appetising. It’d have been nice to be able to keep something from each run, and have online loot shared amongst the team, but as it is, Risk of Rain 2 is a great example of the genre.

West of Dead n'est clairement pas une réussite. Si l'ambiance western sombre est bien retranscrite visuellement et au niveau sonore, le jeu manque de dynamisme et vous vous ennuyez ferme au moment des cutscenes qui racontent l'histoire. Faire appel à une star pour doubler le personnage principal sans avoir une histoire passionnante à faire vivre au joueur sonne comme un coup d'épée dans l'eau. Néanmoins, le gameplay a l'avantage d'être assez unique et d'offrir une autre perspective au genre.
