Réaliser l’adaptation vidéoludique d’un film (et inversement) est souvent très risqué. S’attaquer à des œuvres considérées comme des classiques dans un domaine comme dans l’autre peut ainsi s’apparenter à de la pure folie. Mais parfois, la folie paye. Bloober Team peut se targuer d’avoir réussi l’impossible en nous livrant non seulement une adaptation réellement exceptionnelle, mais en plus, osons le dire, qui s’en sort largement mieux que le film dont elle est inspirée. Très efficace sur le plan technique, Blair Witch nous plonge au cœur d’une aventure rythmée et oppressante qui compense l’aspect conventionnel de son scénario par une ambiance terriblement bien maîtrisée et sans répit. Si on pourra reprocher au jeu une fin qui traîne un peu trop en longueur ou encore des mécaniques de gameplay originales mais insuffisamment exploitées, on en retiendra surtout qu’il s’agit d’une expérience horrifique aussi immersive que de grande qualité, et ce de bout en bout.
