The Last Campfire riesce a trasportarci nel suo strano mondo malinconico con poche note, uno stile semplice ma affascinante e la narrazione costante data dall'avvolgente voce della narratrice. Pur sfruttando elementi comuni, i puzzle sono ben costruiti e gli enigmi concatenati tra attraversamento nella mappa e livelli staccati creano una sorta di grande rompicapo unico dall'inizio alla fine. Il livello di sfida non è alto, cosa che insieme all'estensione limitata del gioco rende la longevità alquanto breve, ma quello che emerge è un'esperienza compatta e ben caratterizzata, che punta un po' a tutti e in grado di lasciare un bel ricordo, seppure flebile come le fiammelle raccolte da Ember.
