Serious Sam 4 plays like its predecessors when it comes to the general shooting, featuring open areas and hordes of enemies. But it could have been better if it cleaned up the various technical and presentation issues that ruin the fun.

It’s a substantial step-up from the absolute mess that was WWE 2K18 for Switch, and there’s plenty of chaotic enjoyment that can be had here, especially if you’ve got a few friends that enjoy the acquired taste that is professional wrestling. It’s silly, it’s over the top, and it’s just a bit of mindless fun, much in the way that real wrestling is. The repetitive nature of the single-player modes means I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for solo players, and the aggressive monetisation limits the options available for party play, but there’s still a decent game of wrestling under the hood.

Hangar 13 vond een goede middenweg tussen het oude en het nieuwe, met Mafia: Definitive Edition als het resultaat. De remake creëert een gevoel van nostalgie, maar zorgt evenals voor een moderne uitstraling. De ontwikkelaar heeft een hoop nieuwe content toegevoegd die de speler zelf zal moeten ontdekken. Zowel voor nieuwe als voor de trouwe fans is het de moeite om deze remake in huis te halen. Het is eigenlijk een volledig nieuwe game, mede dankzij de extra toegevoegde elementen, die, als we de stroeve gameplay even door de vingers zien, zeker in de smaak zal vallen. Het is niet enkel een herbeleving, maar ook een verrassende ervaring.
