Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a stellar example of an enhanced re-release done right. Its comprehensive approach to improving the story and various gameplay systems of the original release makes for an experience that’s even more engrossing than the already excellent original game. Though we were disappointed by the lack of any performance gains here, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is still an extremely easy recommendation for any RPG fans. Some may consider SMT to be “Persona without the heart,” but SMT V: V cleanly demonstrates that this old Atlus stalwart still has an abundance of fantastic gameplay and unique appeal.

V Rising V Rising si affaccia al mercato console preservando tutte le grandi caratteristiche che lo han reso uno degli indie più intriganti degli ultimi anni. Metà ARPG isometrico e metà survival gestionale, l'opera del team svedese Stunlock Studios gode anche su PlayStation 5 dello stesso fascino esercitato nella versione PC. Tuttavia, proprio le sue estreme peculiarità ed originalità potrebbero renderlo meno digeribile dall'utenza console, anche a fronte di alcuni inevitabili adattamenti al diverso ecosistema di riferimento. Sembrava difficile, ma V Rising riesce ad amalgamare al suo interno una parte da hack and slash à la Diablo e una parte da survival à la Valheim o à la Ark in modo egregio, rendendo entrambe le tipologie di gameplay varie ed elaborate al punto giusto. I combattimenti offrono un’azione frenetica e divertente e permettono di utilizzare moltissime armi e poteri, mentre la parte di sopravvivenza, seppur lenta (soprattutto all’inizio), permette di avere un’ampia gamma di personalizzazione nella costruzione del proprio castello. La possibilità poi di scegliere in piena libertà di giocare il titolo da soli o in vari tipi di server, anche con i propri amici, dà una marcia in più all’esperienza nel suo complesso, merito anche dei due anni in early access sfruttati al meglio da parte degli sviluppatori.

Gracias a su fantástica combinación de action RPG, supervivencia y vampirismo, si le hincas el diente a V Rising vas a quedar completamente enganchado (al sabor de la sangre) y no volverás a ver la luz del sol en mucho, mucho tiempo.

Like a competitor inching up notorious Col de la Loze, Cyanide’s Tour de France franchise is demonstrating serious fatigue. Beyond bringing actual cyclists to Pro Team mode and the inclusion of a real-time competitive mode, largely this year’s outing isn’t all that different from the 2023 iteration. If you’re truly yearning for some simulated road cycling, Tour de France 2024 does an adequate job at reproducing the complexities of stamina management. But beyond that, this is a series that’s taken too many rest days.

Astor a ce je ne sais quoi qui rappellera un nombre infini d'autres jeux avant lui. À la fois un titre d'exploration/aventure/action en empruntant des touches de plateformer, il sera vécu différemment par les joueurs. Certains le verront comme une pâle copie sans saveur alors que d'autres le traverseront avec plaisir en picorant ça et là les références de ses aînés. Toutefois, le jeu parvient à extirper un début d'univers rien qu'à lui que nous souhaitons revoir par l'intermédiaire d'un nouvel opus à l'avenir. Ce sera l'occasion pour le titre de C2 Game d’améliorer son système de combat encore perfectible ainsi que la trop forte présence de ses affrontements, et une linéarité enfin parfois trop flagrante.

The Hong Kong Massacre hits all the right mechanical and visual notes and should be considered one of the best in its genre. Great controls, superb style and a cracking soundtrack. However, it has two glaring bugs that detract from the overall quality.

Wuthering Waves combo-heavy action, mobility, and monster taming enhance combat and exploration enough to respectably distinguish it from competitors. Its combat is polished and sophisticated, rewarding reactivity and pushing me to carefully consider my builds and teams. On top of that, the Echo equipment system ties your character progression into the environment in a way that encourages exploration, which can be satisfying despite the repetitive process of fighting overworld mobs. Unfortunately, the story is a bland, exposition-heavy slog, with dull writing and voice acting that rarely kept me interested. But while the quests may not be what’s pulling me along, I’m still looking forward to checking back in with the next major update to see how Wuthering Waves evolves.
