Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS poteva e doveva essere la summa dell’apprezzatissima serie di CyberConnect2, nonché il primissimo tie-in di Naruto a ripercorrere la sua epopea da cima a fondo. Il riciclo di contenuti dalle passate iterazioni della saga (con conseguenti stacchi qualitativi talvolta anche gravi), i tagli grossolani e la scarsa fantasia profusa nella realizzazione della storia inedita hanno però minato la riuscita dell’operazione. Complice l’assenza di meccaniche inedite e in grado di ravvivare un gameplay che comincia ad essere un po’ troppo monotono, più che il compendio promesso ai fan del brand il tie-in ci è parso compitino svogliato e assemblato alla bell'e meglio. Un vero e proprio tappabuchi, sulla scia di quanto fatto a suo tempo con Ultimate STORM Generations e Revolution, in attesa che l’inevitabile adattamento videoludico di Boruto: Naruto Next Generations possa finalmente prendere forma.

Wedged somewhere between Wi-Fi and The Wiggles as one of Australia’s greatest exports, Bluey has been a staggeringly successful animated series. Tens of billions of minutes of the show have been streamed into households in more than 60 countries, and the Heelers have subsequently been transformed into over 1,000 bits of merchandising tat. In an unfortunate turn of events, Bluey: The Videogame feels a lot like another forgettable piece of the latter, hovering somewhere between the countless toys and the tubes of licensed toothpaste. Low on innovation and high on what feels like contractual obligation, Bluey: The Videogame is really a low-effort mobile game masquerading as a mid-price console and PC product. It may absolutely look the part compared to the show itself, but with its assortment of shallow minigames rife with annoying bugs, frustrating controls, and a bafflingly brief runtime of a little over an hour, everywhere else it’s a dog’s breakfast.

Persona 5 Tactica è, di base, un gran bel SRPG, dotato di una buona giocabilità e dei personaggi realmente interessanti. Peccato solo in uno stile non sempre all'altezza e in alcune meccaniche ridondanti sulla lunga distanza, in grado di renderlo "solo" un buon spin-off della serie principale.

Persona 5 Tactica vuelve a reunir a los Ladrones Fantasma para disfrute de los fans en un juego de estrategia y rol lleno de posibilidades. Una nueva oportunidad de vivir aventuras de la mano de Joker y sus amigos, esta vez liderando una nueva revolución. Como nota negativa, tal vez se queda corto para aquellos con mucha experiencia en este tipo de juegos.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin est un jeu à la base solide qui montre un véritable respect au jeu de plateau dont il est issu. Les possibilités de personnalisation et de création sont nombreuses, tandis que le mode conquête et la campagne devraient occuper les joueurs pendant pas mal d’heures de jeu. Dommage tout de même que le titre se traine des défauts évitables et gênants (armées limitées, répétitivité des conquêtes, difficulté biaisée par les unités adverses trop nombreuses…). On espère que les développeurs prendront le temps d’apporter du nouveau contenu à ce titre qui, s’il est suivi, devrait trouver son public.

Fate/Samurai Remnant est la surprise de cette fin d’année côté JRPG, et il est assurément la meilleure porte d’entrée pour celles et ceux qui veulent se lancer dans la quête du Graal et la licence Fate. Son principal défaut est sa longueur, surtout qu’il n’est pas traduit dans la langue de Molière. Cela dit, Samurai Remnant arbore un gameplay façon Musou bien ficelé, qui arrive à se renouveler, et fort heureusement au vu des 40h que vous devrez passer sur son aventure pour en voir le terme.

Super Mario RPG is considered a classic for a reason, and this wonderfully faithful remake makes it easy for anyone who missed it in the SNES era to see why. It’s unabashedly odd, reveling in the unexpected with writing that constantly had me bursting out laughing at jokes I’d heard a dozen times before. Its turn-based combat is fairly simple outside of its very clever boss fights, but it’s also ultra satisfying to keep your timing string going even when you’re plowing through pushovers. And while the updated graphics are equal parts pretty and sort of unambitious when it comes to interpreting the original’s style (with some unfortunate menu lag), the new takes on its excellent music are truly exceptional. Super Mario RPG already held up pretty well if you didn’t mind a bit of dust on its different systems, but now there’s no excuse not to see why Mario’s most unexpected adventure is still so beloved.

In definitiva, il remake di Super Mario RPG si presenta all'appuntamento con gli appassionati in una veste grafica eccezionale che ammanta lo stesso gameplay che aveva proiettato l'originale Legend of the Seven Stars nell'olimpo dei migliori JRPG della storia del medium. Sebbene capiamo come qualcuno possa storcere il naso di fronte a un impianto ludico sostanzialmente fermo a trent'anni fa, era a nostro avviso fondamentale che un gioco così importante per la 'carriera' di Super Mario raggiungesse un nuovo pubblico nella forma più fedele possibile a quella apparsa su SNES nel 1996. Del resto, Mario RPG è un tassello importantissimo nel mosaico evolutivo dell'età moderna dei videogiochi, una di quelle opere d'arte che andrebbero tramandate ai posteri e che meritano di essere preservate quanto più a lungo possibile. Questa è l'occasione migliore per colmare un'eventuale lacuna nel vostro bagaglio culturale di videogiocatori.

Così come l’originale, questa riedizione di Super Mario RPG è pensata per essere un autentico preambolo del genere, e presentare ai neofiti tutte le caratteristiche peculiari dei giochi di ruolo di stampo giapponese. Ciò non significa che gli altri non potranno trovare pane per i loro denti, soprattutto considerate tutte le rifiniture apportate da ArtePiazza e qualche extra da affrontare dopo la fine del gioco, ma non accostatevi al gioco aspettandovi chissà quale storia complessa o difficoltà terribile da superare. Malgrado una revisione stilistica che, a mio avviso, non rende giustizia all’estro creativo dell’avventura su Super Nintendo, Super Mario RPG resta un ottimo prodotto confezionato con amore, e meritevole di attenzione anche da parte di chi non è necessariamente appassionato delle peripezie a piattaforme dell’idraulico videoludico per eccellenza.

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections may have the biggest roster and flashiest graphics in the series, but its unenthusiastic re-telling of the source material in what should be a celebration of Naruto, Shippuden, and Boruto falls flat. Even when it’s fun and nostalgic, there’s almost nothing here to make me seek it out over past entries with basically the same fighting system and better single-player stories. If all you want is the newest, biggest, and shiniest way to watch your favorite shinobi battle it out, Ninja Storm Connections at least delivers that. But just because it understands the assignment doesn’t mean its execution gets high marks. Even as someone who dabbles in annual series like Call of Duty and FIFA with friends from time to time, this is the most “just another one of these” games I’ve played in a long time.

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections è, nel momento in cui scriviamo, il picchiaduro definitivo basato sull’opera di Kishimoto, tra due modalità storia (di cui una, quella di Boruto, inedita), circa 130 personaggi giocabili, collezionabili e sfide da sbloccare e completare. La sensazione di “già visto” c’è, ed è forte soprattutto per i cultori dei titoli precedenti, i quali comunque difficilmente potranno perdersi l’ultima iterazione del franchise. Per tutti i nuovi arrivati e fan di Naruto, invece, il prodotto costituisce praticamente un acquisto obbligatorio, in virtù della sua completezza. Avremmo gradito scenari finalmente distruttibili, una maggiore personalizzazione dei personaggi e qualche modalità in più legata all’online, ma complessivamente ci siamo: ora resta da capire se il prossimo titolo sarà l’ennesimo “pacchetto completo definitivo” oppure, finalmente, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 5.
