F1 23 è il gioco dedicato alla Formula 1 migliore degli ultimi anni. Tutto ciò che Codemasters ha creato funziona alla perfezione, per quanto riguarda gameplay, giocabilità e modalità. Purtroppo ci sono dei piccoli problemi tecnici che non rendono l’esperienza perfetta per quanto riguarda l’aspetto grafico, ma per il resto siamo ad altissimi livelli. Le monoposto brillano e sono davvero ben realizzate, e anche asfalto e volti dei piloti sono più curati. Insomma, possiamo dire che F1 23 ha un assetto che funziona, ma dato che nessuna macchina è perfetta, c'è ancora da limare. Ciononostante, il gioco sale sul gradino più alto del podio.

Park Beyond does a great job tapping into the childhood whimsy that theme parks can elicit. There's a great sense of wonder to be had by impossifying rides, and the simple interface makes it easy to do. Incrementally unlocking new rides and increasing park capacity is rewarding, and creating something utterly ludicrous can be a blast. But that joy dissipates quickly when parks become unmanageable, as the attendees get stuck, staff ignores pressing needs, and financial ruin springs seemingly out of nowhere, while bugs and crashes make a late-campaign difficulty spike a miserable slog. Like riding an unfinished roller coaster, there’s fun to be had until the eventual crash, but it feels like this park just isn’t ready to be opened.

Park Beyond è ricco, colorato, complesso ma non difficile da comprendere: necessita, ad ogni modo, di un periodo di apprendistato lungo quanto la campagna principale, il che è tutto dire. Saprà conquistarvi se sognate in grande e amate binari, costruzioni, architetture impossibili. Se cercate un vero manageriale, però, cercate altrove. Se cercate un gioco “serio”, allo stesso modo, cercate altrove, qui è tutto talmente over the top da fare due volte il giro. Se però apprezzate le giostre folli amerete il suo stile.

The unforgivable shortcomings in Layers of Fear are a shame, because the core tools that the game is built with could be used to forge something pretty alright. The series’ issues with mental health and representation are foundational and in dire need of more evaluation than additional DLC can provide, but there’s a genuinely interesting examination of player and space here that is crying out for a better framing. Layers of Fear has all the pieces, but Bloober Team seem content to toss those bricks around an empty block instead of building something of value.

Non abbiamo di fronte un titolo adatto a tutti, anzi, probabilmente ci troviamo all'interno di una matrioska, una doppia nicchia che è quella dello sport di riferimento e quella dell'approccio estremamente simulativo. Negli ultimi tempi gli arcade si sono ibridizzati, ma questo DRIFTCE punta i piedi offrendo un'esperienza per pochi eletti, coloro che sanno come funziona ogni singola parte di un'automobile, e che vogliono costruirla a proprio piacimento. Tecnicamente buono, non offre molto se non una serie di sfide concatenate per raggiungere e migliorare record, oltre allo sfidare altri giocatori.

F1 ‘23 is another year that feels like a mixed bag. The kinks have been fixed and patched but the addition of F1 World has made it weird to play for someone who has put hours in this game, along with that graphics issue as well. Perhaps, the wisest choice is to wait for the year-end sale or even use EA Play Game Trials to try out this new F1 game.

Abgesehen von seinem gerade technischen unfertigen Zustand auf der PS5 ist Park Beyond eine launige und vor allem hübsche Park-Simulation. Mit einem äußerst coolen Achterbahn-Feature, das aber kaum Einfluss auf den Aufbau-Aspekt hat. Zusätzliche Mühe wird hier nicht zusätzlich belohnt. Die Kampagne hat ein paar nette Kniffe und Herausforderungen, der Sandkasten-Modus bietet mit 27 Maps viel Freiraum zur Gestaltung. Nicht optionale Nebenquests sind trotzdem ein Unding. Die Tycoon-Tiefe und der Langzeitspielspaß können genauso in Frage gestellt werden.

Amnesia: The Bunker è un’esperienza terrificante come poche altre. Rende costantemente omaggio all’eredità della serie di Frictional Games con momenti di altissima tensione e la capacità di immergere il giocatore in un mondo con cui è sempre possibile interagire in modi diversi. Pecca troppo nel comparto tecnico e grafico, che purtroppo lo fanno apparire datato al lancio.

Per Layers of Fear si può fare un discorso molto simile a quello che fu fatto per i capitoli originali: se vi piacciono i videogiochi horror in cui la parte narrativa è preponderante su tutto il resto, allora lo apprezzerete sicuramente, soprattutto se non amate giocare in un continuo stato di tensione. Oltretutto ci troverete dentro più giochi, per un'esperienza complessiva lunga e articolata, considerando gli standard del genere. Se invece siete alla ricerca di un focus maggiore sul gameplay horror, allora vi conviene guardare da un'altra parte, dato che qui la scelta operata dagli autori è abbastanza netta. Nella sostanza ci troviamo di fronte a un gioco tecnicamente interessante per il semplice fatto di essere il primo a usare l'Unreal Engine 5, narrativamente ottimo, con tre storie diverse legate molto bene tra di loro, ma che può deludere fortemente chi fosse in cerca di un videogioco che la paura non gliela racconti, ma gliela faccia soprattutto vivere.

Layers of Fear Bloober Team riprende in mano il proprio titolo di esordio nel panorama degli horror psicologici con una nuova consapevolezza. Layers of Fear non si limita a riproporre, in una veste tecnica moderna, il titolo originario, bensì tutta la serie (e relativi DLC) in un nuovo contesto narrativo, per un progetto a metà tra remaster e remake. Un pacchetto dunque capace di regalare suggestioni e brividi, pur preservando il gameplay estremamente ridotto delle versioni originali. Proprio questa è la chiave di lettura che vi potrebbe portare ad apprezzare (o meno) la produzione: se amate il brivido psicologico, il progetto saprà conquistarvi. Se, viceversa, apprezzate qualcosa di maggiormente concreto e palpabile (sia ludicamente, sia narrativamente), il titolo potrebbe non centrare il bersaglio. Layers of Fear 2023 stylishly combines Bloober Team’s flagship games into one beautifully terrifying definitive edition. The reimagined and drop dead gorgeous visuals built entirely from the ground up alone are reason enough to revisit these titles, but the added cherries on top are the brand new chapters that wrap all the narratives together. It’s a must play for anyone into psychedelic and psychological horror experiences, but may come off a little underwhelming for anyone looking for something truly scary.
