Wild Hearts est assurément un titre réussi et un premier opus d’une éventuelle licence prometteuse. Toutefois, le jeu ne parvient pas à suffisamment se différencier de son concurrent direct pour représenter une véritable alternative. Surfant sur un univers semblable, avec un bestiaire et un arsenal moins dense et diversifié et un aspect fouillis parfois frustrant en multi, le titre de Koei Tecmo dispose de bases très solides pour un avenir radieux avec une suite plus aboutie. La mise en scène particulièrement soignée grâce à une bande originale somptueuse, cette petite touche de poésie plus marquante qu’autre part et une technique visuelle plutôt réussie nous donne envie de croire en l’avenir de cette nouvelle licence qui pourrait se positionner, avec le temps, comme un véritable concurrent du géant de Capcom. Nous ne manquerons pas de suivre les ajouts post lancement du titre et voir quelle allure il aura au fil des mois et voir si, peut-être, il recevra son « Iceborn » ou « Sunbreak » à lui ? Pour l’heure, il reste difficile de conseiller Wild Hearts aux fans de Rathalos si ce n’est par curiosité de voir comment est l’herbe du voisin.

Like a Dragon Ishin! è un inno alla tradizione, in ogni senso possibile. A quella dei vecchi episodi del franchise, che pendevano di più verso il genere dei picchiaduro che non verso i giochi di ruolo, di cui pure conservavano svariati elementi; a quella dipinta dall'accurata narrativa del gioco, che ci mostra tutti i principali protagonisti del franchise in una veste inedita, a partire da Kazuma Kiryu; e, infine, a quella dell'Unreal Engine, un motore versatile e snello, ma che sembra inadatto agli standard dettati dalle console di attuale generazione. Nonostante uno sforzo produttivo non eccezionale, allora, la possibilità di giocare un titolo che rischiava seriamente di rimanere confinato al solo territorio giapponese, la localizzazione nella nostra lingua e la bontà del materiale originale riescono non solo a salvare la baracca, ma anche a rendere l'ultima fatica Sega un prodotto che saprà colpire tutti i giocatori, appassionati del franchise e non. Certamente chi conosce personaggi e stilemi partirà avvantaggiato e si godrà riferimenti e retroscena, ma anche i nuovi arrivati potrebbero divertirsi molto ad indossare kimono ed infradito e farsi rispettare per le strade della Kyoto del XIX secolo.

Like A Dragon: Ishin! does exactly what it says on the box. It takes the recognisable characters that have appeared throughout the series and transformed them into 19th-century analogs. The super dramatic storyline, backstabs and betrayals remain pleasingly offset with the eccentric substories that feature memorable characters in the wildest of circumstances. Kiryu-Ryōma-Saito remains the ever-loveable stone-faced uncle driven by honour, stoically seeking the goodness in hearts everywhere before curb stomping a handsy mugger.

En tant que fan de jeux de rythme, je suis heureux d'en voir un nouveau. En tant que fan de Final Fantasy, j'aime voir son nom sur tout ce qui bouge, et là c'est le maître mot ! Le mix parfait pour un retour qui l'est tout autant, près de 9 ans plus tard nous voici au paradis de tout ce qui se fait de mieux en la matière. Tout est subjectif dans un test, surtout dans ce cas, mais testez au moins la démo et vous comprendrez...

Wild Hearts is, at times, an utterly thrilling game. It's a game that will leave you kicking yourself for a poorly timed dodge or a missed opportunity, and jumping out of your chair when you finally topple a troublesome foe with a last-ditch, go-for-broke attack. There's a handful of technical issues, a mite too much repetition, and some quibbles about the difficulty, but the core monster hunting experience is spectacular enough that the joys far outweigh the frustrations.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain è la prima grande esclusiva di PS VR2, un gioco che mostra in pompa magna la potenza grafica del visore e immerge il giocatore con tutti i sensi nelle verdi vallate del mondo creato da Guerrilla Games. A livello di gameplay, però, il titolo non è di certo rivoluzionario: l'avventura ha una buona longevità, ma è troppo lineare, sia nell’impostazione che nella narrativa, con delle fasi esplorative un po’ monotone e troppo preponderanti nell’economia di gioco. Soddisfano invece i combattimenti, molto divertenti e adrenalinici. Il visore PS VR2 è ben utilizzato in quest’esclusiva, così come ci si aspettava, ma il gioco non ha abbastanza elementi innovativi per essere qualcosa di davvero unico nel panorama dei titoli per la realtà virtuale.
