If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force is using Wild Hearts to flirt hard with Capcom right now. But using a beloved game as the template for a new one isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and Wild Hearts manages to introduce plenty of fun new ideas to the Monster Hunter formula while recapturing it well enough to stand proudly alongside the series that so clearly inspired it. The way it simplifies and streamlines things makes for a slightly shallower package, but its karakuri building adds a fresh new way to interact with the map in its place. And while its lower monster variety is certainly disappointing, I’m still having enough fun that I’m excited to party up with some friends and dive back into both challenging endgame fights and fanciful karakuri decorations alike.

Wild Hearts couldn't have been a better start for a new IP. While the experience shares more than a few similarities with that of the Monster Hunter series, the unique monster design, the great weapon variety and the Karakuri crafting mechanics give the game a unique flavor that makes it stand out easily among similar games. Performance issues, sadly, impact the experience considerably on all formats, preventing it from reaching greater heights, but even in its current state, the game is a more than worthy purchase for fans of the genre.

Wild Hearts offers a fresh take on the monster hunting formula. The nature infused Kemono are an original approach to monster designs and some of them look so majestic you almost feel bad about killing them. Azuma is a gorgeous location, and using the different forms of the Karakuri to travel gives exploration a unique quality. The Karakuri in general really what sets Wild Hearts apart from other monster hunting, as its myriad functions add a new dimension to both exploration and battling Kemono. There is a bit of a learning curve and steep difficulty but learning the intricacies of Karakuri make overcoming the challenge a very rewarding and fun experience.

Wild Hearts treads familiar ground as you hunt one monstrous beast after another, but Omega Force has added new tricks and gimmicks that help separate it from the games it draws inspiration from. At the end of the day, it proudly stands as a unique experience with its own identity.

Wild Hearts has everything you need for a competent Hunting style game. The weapons are fun to use and the upgrades go a long way to make you feel powerful. It's the Karakuri system that will be what draws new players to it adding a new level of depth to gameplay.

Wild Hearts brings a uniqueness to the monster hunting genre that keeps the experience feeling refreshing. The Karakuri and different weapon options are very fun to experiment with and present interesting combat opportunities. Overall, Wild Hearts capitalizes on what made monster hunting games so much fun in the first place while still giving fans of the genre a new reason to get excited and dive back into the fight.

Les studios Guerilla Games et Firesprite ont fait tous les bons choix pour créer un jeu grand public en VR dans l'univers d'Horizon. A moins d'être grandement sujet au vertige, vous ne devrez pas avoir trop de difficulté à terminer Call of the Mountain, et le combat demande un peu de sang froid et de patience, mais se montre tout à fait excitant. L'ensemble exploite bien de la technologie des manettes Sense. Il en subit aussi les défauts mais bon, c'est bien le seul jeu où vous pourrez tenter de mettre le doigt dans le nez d'Aloy. Une perspective unique sur un univers très apprécié.

Que dire sur Returnal qui n'a pas déjà était dit ? Ah oui, c'est toujours une exclu fantastique et le meilleur jeu PS5 à ce jour. On avait peur qu'il échoue à l'exercice du portage PC, mais force est de constater que ce n'est pas le cas. Le jeu n'a jamais été aussi beau avec l'ajout du ray tracing - même si ça affecte les performances - et c'est toujours un bonheur à jouer en immersion totale avec la DualSense ou via le combo clavier/souris. Les joueurs PC peuvent foncer les yeux fermés.

Pharaoh : A New Era est le city-builder « old school » que l’on attendait depuis de nombreuses années. Sans véritable représentant du genre depuis le début des années 2000, c’est un vrai plaisir que de retrouver ce genre de proposition. Triskell Interactive propose de plus ici, un remake d’un des titres les plus cultes de Impressions Games pour le plus grand plaisir des amateurs du genre. Entre fidélité et modernisation de la formule, cette nouvelle mouture de Pharaoh fonctionne et vous occupera pendant de très longues heures. Au final, le point le plus impressionnant autour du jeu est que Triskell Interactive et Dotemu ont réussi le pari de moderniser le titre sans avoir dénaturé ce qui faisait tout le sel et l’assaisonnement du jeu initial.
