Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People has been consistently entertaining, and "8-bit is Enough" is a more than fitting sendoff. This episode is truly bizarre, but still very funny. Both Telltale and Homestar creators the Chapman brothers have really taken the time to craft the games that Homestar fans want to play. Even if you're not a fan, if you enjoy retro gaming you'll probably be amused by all the 8-bit gags here. It's a little disappointing knowing there isn't a new Strong Bad episode waiting for us next month, but we're happy to have had the chance to try and handle his style.

Shmups don't come along every day, so it's nice to see a solid one make its way to the PSN where it can be enjoyed by PS3 owners. Soldner-X will challenge you with a large number of enemies and onscreen threats, but the significant number of power ups, coupled with deep gameplay thanks to the weapon and chain system will keep you coming back for more, especially when you start unlocking extras. If you're a shooter fan, you should definitely check this one out.

Naruto: The Broken Bond, miscelando generi diversi (action, RPG e BEU), non riesce sicuramente a distinguersi come baluardo, come punto di riferimento per nessuno di essi. Tuttavia, alcune idee molto interessanti come la possibilità di utilizzare protagonista e comprimari assieme per risolvere gli enigmi, ed un sistema di controllo intuitivo e funzionale rendono molto appetibile la produzione Ubisoft. La struttura di gioco, oramai vecchia ed a tratti noiosa, viene leggermente rinvigorita dall'inserimento di meccanismi collaterali, segreti ed obiettivi da sbloccare e la longevità, già rinnovata, viene ulteriormente rinfrescata dall'aggiunta di una modalità online di buona fattura. Nonostante tutto, complice un comparto tecnico sin troppo altalenante, un impianto narrativo incapace di stare in piedi senza conoscenza pregresse sulla serie ed una struttura di gioco comunque già troppo abusata, quest'ultimo tie-in di Naruto si conferma irrinunciabile per gli appassionati e soltanto “da provare con riserva” per chi non fosse a conoscenza della saga. Si tratta, in ogni caso, di una quindicina d'ore d'azione godibile e, anche quando ripetitiva, mai frustrante.

Quantum of Solace isn’t the game that it should have been. It’s not bad by any means, but what brings it out of the pits of despair is the foundation of a much better game that we all know and love. The action is less compelling and the world that’s built around Bond doesn’t do much to enhance the fun factor. All of the additions do nothing to push the game ahead of other first-person shooters and instead take you out of the world of being Bond. If you’re looking for a game to reveal the plot of Quantum of Solace before the movie’s release, this is not it. If you’re looking for the answer to GoldenEye, this is not it. Instead Quantum of Solace is a respectable shooter with little that sets it apart from the rest of the field. Sadly the Collector’s Edition is even more generic with a paltry set of behind the scenes featurettes that appear on a separate bonus disc housed in a “gold” tin. That’s all you get for your ten extra bucks, unless you include the three dollar coupon for one of a handful of old Bond movies, but I don’t. The behind the scenes featurettes do little to advance the game, and the fact that there’s no “play all” feature is an annoyance. It is cool that can watch Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and the hot chick from the movie talk about their experiences with the game, but there’s no way that a short list of abrupt features justifies the increase in price.

Movie licensed games can often times prove difficult for developers. They're almost always under pressure to finish the job as quickly and as cheap as possible. In the face of looming deadlines and shrinking budgets, it's easy for companies to phone it in. But that's not the case here. In spite of a few issues with combat, levels that may be just a little too linear, and a playtime that runs on the short side, The Tale of Despereaux stands out as an above average movie game. Its creative level design, interesting visuals, and simple, yet diverse controls make for a title that's just right for young gamers. It might even win over a few older ones, too.

Parfois supérieure, parfois inférieure aux versions New-Gen, cette mouture Wii de Winter Sports 2009 The Next Challenge s'en sort finalement bien grâce à une jouabilité correctement calibrée bien que parfois capricieuse. Le contenu, lui, reste similaire à celui de ses homologues, ce qui nous donne au final un titre complet, jouable, bien qu'imparfait, et plutôt agréable malgré son petit côté "add-on".

hilosophy students and aspiring monks need to download Enduro Racer straight away in order to have their perspectives on existence informed by its ending sequence's introspective musings, but the rest of we Wii owners can easily get along without it. Its isometric motorcycling gameplay is fair, but it's nothing like the arcade game it's named after and a more robust 8-bit bike racer is already available in the Wii Shop through Excitebike, which has features like a custom course creator that this release lacks. And, in closing, this review is dedicated to all of the "life riders" who have started out on the solitary trip to find their own individual limits. The end.

Animal Crossing Let's go to the City soffre molto il confronto con il precedente episodio per DS (splendido e coraggioso), e non riesce dunque ad affermarsi come un capolavoro indiscusso. Allo stesso tempo, però, non solo conserva la capacità di offrire qualcosa di unico nel panorama videoludico attuale, non solo conferma la qualità artistica della serie, ma riesce anche ad elevare all'ennesima potenza i tratti distintivi del brand. Ogni peculiarità di Animal Crossing è qui amalgamata alla perfezione con le novità, e soprattutto arricchita dalle possibilità di comunicazione sociale. Se da un lato potranno esserci utenti delusi dall'estrema somiglianza con l'ultima incarnazione a due schermi, dall'altro chi non avesse mai conosciuto la serie si troverà davanti un gioco atipico ma senza ombra di dubbio da provare, capace di trasmettere quella Nintendo Difference di cui spesso si parla. In mezzo ci saranno probabilmente molte altre persone che, pur avendo già assaporato certe emozioni in altri episodi del brand, saranno comunque attirate dalla possibilità di ritornare immersi in atmosfere suggestive e fascinazioni davvero intriganti. Il voto finale cerca di tenere conto di tutti questi diversi target cui il prodotto cerca di offrirsi, mediando tra le diverse considerazioni. In sostanza, sicuramente consigliato a tutti, tranne a coloro che vivono per l'agonismo videoludico: in Animal Crossing il compito del giocatore è quello di assaporare un quotidiana esperienza di vita in un modno di fiaba. Da sottolineare l'importanza del progetto come primo vero passo dell'online Nintendo Wii verso una comunicazione senza barriere.
