The TG-16 installment, New Adventure Island, is a much better version to track down, as its upgrades in visuals and sound justify the purchase. Why? Because gameplay-wise the two titles are essentially the same. We'd recommend going that route rather than investing in this NES edition.

Open Warfare 2 è uno dei titoli più riusciti nella lunga serie di Worms, era dai tempi di Armageddon (uscito nell’ormai lontano 1999) che la saga non conosceva un gioco così ben bilanciato e ricco di opzioni. La possibilità di customizzare fin nei minimi dettagli non soltanto squadre e scenari, ma ogni singola modalità di gioco, seppur non nuova per la serie, è qui riproposta in maniera magistrale su di una console portatile. Le numerose modalità di gioco conferiscono al titolo una longevità invidiabile, prolungata dalla presenza (finalmente!) di una modalità online degna di questo nome, e degnamente supportata dagli sviluppatori. Il gioco non è esente da difetti (un’eccessiva lentezza degli scontri - soprattutto online - l’impossibilità di salvare nel bel mezzo di una missione e l’eccessiva precisione nel rilevamento delle collisioni), per la maggior parte congeniti al genere e alla filosofia del gioco. Gli unici motivi per non prendere seriamente in considerazione il gioco sono un odio viscerale per la serie, o l’abuso della stessa: alla fin della fiera, il gioco è rimasto lo stesso di tredici anni fa, seppur con una rinnovata personalità e l’aggiunta di nuove armi e modalità. Solo in considerazione di questo aspetto, non ci sentiamo di conferire un rotondo “otto” ad un gioco che resta inprescindibile per tutti i giocatori che non hanno mai provato un titolo della serie.

High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition is a solid game, but don't expect too many options. The character creator is a little limited, there are only two environments to play at and the career mode is simply a series of tournaments with a persistent winnings total. The online play works well, but again, you'll find a very limited set of features. Fortunately though, all of it does work well and we don't have any complaints about any of these elements except that we wish there was more to everything. If you're looking for a basic poker game where you can hop online and play against other players, you can't go wrong. But if you're looking for something that'll give you a bigger experience than a weekly house game, look elsewhere.

Carnival Games is a testament to consistent mediocrity; the whole package averages out to something that is neither incredible nor detestable. With 2-4 players, there are undoubtedly a few fresh servings of fun, but after a few bites, the fruit turns a little sour. Some games are complete throwaways, like the claw drop and bowler coaster, but there is enough here to keep a group of people entertained. If you have kids, this may be an ideal title to pick up, as its ability to charm someone into the world of the midway is both enchanting and unintimidating. At a "budget" retail price of $40, there may be further incentive to try this one out for a party or the kiddies.
