Dusk Diver 2 shows a notable improvement over the original by adding a second playable character to switch between in-battle at any point, but doesn’t improve the formula enough to be a must-have for anyone who didn’t love the original. The combat system has been beefed up, but variety is still in short-supply and the same environments being used throughout dungeons hurts things. The overworld exploration is the most pure fun the game offers up in its current form and it’s a shame some streamlining wasn’t done to dungeons to make them less laborious and more fun to complete.

A tragically outdated open world adventure that almost has more in common with Goat Simulator than Grand Theft Auto, despite some moderately entertaining mechanics.

The problem with the new Saints Row is not just that the characters are boring, or that the combat is by-the-numbers and benumbed by unempowering perks, but that the brief snatches of fun are nothing new, and are done better in other games.

Saints Row torna dopo molti anni di assenza, ma si comporta come se il tempo non fosse passato. Così potremmo condensare questo reboot: a fronte di una storia aggiornata, attenta all'inclusività (e menomale), troviamo un gameplay con poche reali novità, che non tiene conto degli anni passati rispetto all'ultimo episodio. In un contesto come quello odierno, dove gli open world in terza persona sono uno dei generi più in voga, trovare il modo di dire qualcosa di nuovo o unico rispetto agli altri è fondamentale, e Saints Row non ci riesce. Ciò detto, non si tratta neanche di un gioco brutto; a suo modo, a piccole dosi, può divertire, e la storia, seppur anch'essa parca di novità, regala bei momenti grazie al cast di personaggi. Dategli una chance se siete appassionati del genere o della serie, ma non aspettatevi qualcosa di realmente nuovo, altrimenti rimarrete inevitabilmente delusi.

Malgré un gameplay riche et maîtrisé vous faisant affronter un large bestiaire d'assaillants, le jeu peine à satisfaire totalement. La faute à des bugs gênants, à certaines animations parfois en deçà et à un rythme pas toujours maîtrisé.

Midnight Fight Express è un picchiaduro molto particolare che segue un po’ tutti gli elementi classici del genere, inclusa la possibilità di raccogliere armi da terra e affrontare tonnellate di avversari contemporaneamente, ma introduce abbastanza nuovi elementi da portare una ventata d’aria fresca di cui forse il genere aveva bisogno. La relativa scarsità di tipi differenti di avversari da affrontare non è sufficiente a rovinare un’esperienza di gioco in realtà adrenalinica e, soprattutto, soddisfacente.

Saints Row n’est pas vraiment ce que l’on peut appeler un redémarrage total de la saga, mais plutôt un soft-reboot : il s’apparente énormément à Saints Row The Third qui, même si apprécié, n’en demeure pas moins âgé d’une dizaine d’années. Dans les faits, cela se ressent et cette nouvelle aventure a encore du mal à s’imposer par sa technique, son gameplay ou sa créativité qui restent ancrés dans un certain immobilisme malgré quelques nouveautés : il s’agit toutefois d’un jeu d’action efficace qui ne se prend jamais au sérieux, plutôt drôle et au contenu sacrément généreux, ce qu’on ne pourra jamais lui reprocher. Volition livre au final du Saints Row 3 à la sauce far-west, ce qui reste appréciable sans casser trois pâtes à un pistolero.

Saints Row no entiende aún que la industria de los videojuegos ha cambiado desde su última entrega y debe remodelar su estructura desde cero. Si bien en lo narrativo y en sus bromas es bueno y medianamente coherente dentro de lo loco que es el juego, las bases mecánicas de este no ayudan en nada a la hora de poder crear un título competente y sobre todo, notable o sobresaliente. La diversión predomina por encima de todo, pero si tu mismo te estás poniendo trabas con problemas básicos, tal vez la experiencia no sea como todo el mundo se espera que sea. 2012 estuvo bien, pero los tiempos han cambiado.
