Over time the funny dialogue will start to lose its charm as it repeats, but you can limit it or turn it off completely after you've heard all there is to hear over the course of a few hours. It'd be easy to feel disappointed, or cheated by how short a time it takes to hear all the jokes, but the reality is that this is a small, five dollar download. It comes with all the polish I'd expect from Telltale, and while it only features Texas Hold 'em, is a really entertaining way to kill some time, especially if you want those TF2 unlocks. It may not be the best poker game out there, but it is definitely the funniest. And, as most people will tell you, a little humor goes a long way.

Apache: Air Assault is a title that a niche audience of hardcore flight sim fans will love, and the rest of us with a passing interesting in flying a chopper will get some fun out of. I recommend playing it on Training for anyone who isn’t up to putting in the many hours of time to master the more intense Realistic settings, but it’s cool that Gaijin put those in for the hardcore fans they know are going to pick this up. The combat is a sight to behold, but the missions are more than little formulaic thanks to the nature of the aircraft. Apaches are made to kill, and they do it well. I just don't think that’s enough for most gamers out there.

While the technical issues and underwhelming presentation are problems, Split/Second PSP’s ultimate failing is that it’s... boring. The feel of immediacy and spectacle from the console versions is gone, replaced by a monotonous exercise in avoiding the PSP version’s myriad compromises. PSP racing fans have better options to choose from.

Namco Museum Megamix is only $20, so that comes out to less than a buck per game. However, I’m still not sold. Some of the remixes are just dreadful, such as Rally-X and Gator Panic. And with the exception of a handful of arcade classics, many of these games are available in other collections such as the recent Namco Museum Remix or the Namco Museum for the GameCube, which you could probably find on the cheap these days. Even if you are a hardcore retrogamer, Namco Museum Megamix isn’t a good package for either value or overall entertainment.

Faery is a solid fantasy role-playing game, but the short tale means it’s not quite worth the 1200 Microsoft point price tag. As part of an episodic endeavor, the first installment naturally leaves you feeling like the story is unresolved, but it’s great fun to fly around interesting backdrops. The massive character customization also makes your faery or elf feel unique, so if you enjoy leveling up and finding loot, you should check out Faery: Legends of Avalon.

With such unstable tech, it’s unclear why anybody would buy this game instead of just playing it themselves in their living room sans the uninteresting questions and irritating announcer. If you’re an Achievement/Trophy whore I could see picking this up as a rental to farm some easy points, but otherwise there’s just no point in getting Truth or Lies. Save your 40 bucks, buy a few bottles of wine and play good old fashioned Truth or Dare with your friends instead. You'll think up more pertinent questions, plus there’s a good chance that someone will end up at least partially naked.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is pure over-the-top driving entertainment. The cars and environments are gorgeous, the crashes are spectacular, and the new Autolog feature breathes new life into the time-honored tradition of video game competition among friends. The single-player races can become somewhat repetitive and there are some presentation issues, but overall, Hot Pursuit is a blast. If you’re looking for a high-octane racer that grabs on tight but doesn’t take itself too seriously, give this one a shot.

NBA Jam is a disappointing retail package, mainly because it would’ve been one of the greatest Xbox Live or PlayStation Network releases of all-time. As it stands, this $50 disc adds a few modes to the Jam that you know and love, but at the end of the day the reason that you’ll invest is the classic gameplay, not the Remix Modes. You have to ask yourself: is the classic gameplay and addition of online multiplayer worth the rather hefty asking price? I’d say yes, if you’re a diehard Jam fan and no if it never impressed you back in the day.

The Undergarden really is best used as a palette cleanser, a game to break up the monotony of blood and violence gamers seem to revel in. Like so many sweet and wonderful things in life, the experience starts to lose its charm in any prolonged session. The levels are just a little too repetitive, and even the dazzling colors and quirky music failed to hold my attention for longer than a stage or two at any given time. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just that so much of Undergarden’s appeal lies in the sensory experience, and that affected me less and less as I habituated to it. It certainly won’t be for everyone, but players looking for a change of pace – and who have a controller -- might find brief solace in a few evenings with The Undergarden.

Should you buy The Sly Collection? Yes, absolutely. Even if you've already played all three games (and I've found that most people seem to have played one of the games and missed the other two), this is a series worth revisiting. You get to see the history of Sucker Punch as a developer, you get to play some of the best platformers of last generation, and you get one of the greatest bargains in video games since The Orange Box.

And, lastly, the eight-dollar asking price is a great improvement from the full retail amount you'd pay to pick up Nitro in physical form. Recycling content from cartridges to turn into DSiWare downloads may not be the most admirable approach to filling out the selection in the DSi Shop, but it's hard to argue with that strategy when you're gaming on a budget.

Brotherhood is a great game, but it’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend. This is really a title designed for fans of Assassin’s Creed II, as it’s a continuation of that story, but the reality is that people who finished that game want something new – or that at least represents a clear step forward. Brotherhood doesn’t deliver that. The game doesn’t advance the wider narrative very far, the new mechanics don’t really add a great deal and the mission designs rarely explore new gameplay possibilities. That said, Brotherhood really looks the part, with a step up in the graphics department – particularly on PS3, and a massive and varied city to explore. It also introduces an innovative multiplayer suite, for which the team(s) should be applauded. At the end of the day, it depends what you’re looking for. If you’re new to Assassin’s Creed, this is a solid entry, but picking up the threads of the convoluted story may be a challenge. If you’re an experienced assassin, on the other hand, expect to tread pretty similar ground to the last title.
