Power Gig had a lot of potential to actually get a head start in revolutionizing music games. Had this actually been a game that was comparable to Rock Band 3's Pro mode, but with a real six string guitar, then I would be thrilled. But instead it's an overpriced, low budget music game with tacked on power chords. If you want to go learn guitar, you can buy a beginner electric guitar for less than this game bundle costs.

In the end, there are three main annoyances that stand out to me with WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 on Wii: the frustrating grapples, the rough Road to WrestleMania backstage stuff and the lackluster graphics. Not being able to transition to a hip toss, watching John Cena's mouth open and close at random, and seeing the washed-out characters sucked me out of the experience. Thankfully, there's plenty to like this game -- and that's really cool for the Wii. Making choices in the stories, never knowing what was going to happen in WWE Universe Mode, and seeing the TV presentation is great. Sure, it feels like a suped-up version of last year's title here and there, but there's nothing wrong with that when the game is this much fun.

Rock Band 3 is a tough one to judge. If you don't have any downloadable content, then the experience isn't nearly as robust or interesting. And if you don't buy the new keyboard or Pro Guitar, well, then it's just more Rock Band. Not that there's anything wrong with more of the same -- Rock Band's still a great time. The value in Rock Band 3 is going to vary from person to person far more than with most games. What the Pro mode adds is a reason to play Rock Band alone (if you make the investment). For the first time, the series is more satisfying alone than in a room packed with friends, although that's not to say rocking out with your buddies isn't cool. But, seriously, you can spend 20 hours playing Pro Keys and never need anyone else in your band. Rock Band 3 is the best music game option around. The more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. But my bet is that most people will just buy the game and nothing more. And while that experience is still solid, it's not all that different from Rock Band 2.

Saw II: Flesh and Blood is a budget title, shoveled out in less than a year in order to cash-in on the fans that still remain loyal to the series. But with such poorly designed, repetitive levels, I can only hope that fans will learn their lesson and stop supporting this franchise until they actually try to learn from their mistakes. Because if this is the best they have to offer, I think Jigsaw better retire.

I can’t help but chuckle at the irony of Shaun White Skateboarding, a game that presents an uninspired world yet its biggest failing is a total lack of inspiration. The quest objectives are hopelessly boring and the originally cool concept of shaping is restricted too heavily in single-player. It also doesn’t help that this game’s main concept (the skateboarding), takes a backseat to a story that isn’t very impactful in its delivery or with its characters. Shaun White Skateboarding might appeal to those starved for a different slant on traditional skating games, but everyone else is poised for serious disappointment.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a great adventure, whether you're playing co-op or flying solo. Despite the silly story and dialogue, I had more fun with it than any Tomb Raider in recent memory. With a great new look, clever puzzles, and loads of fun stuff to collect, this is an extreme makeover for Lara of which you will surely approve.

In Teotl Studios' The Ball, it's just you, a strange gun, and a huge metallic sphere. You push and pull it around the machines and traps of an ancient underground civilization and try to not get cut down by the occasional zombie rush in the process. With clever gameplay variety, a solid progression curve, and logical solutions to the challenges that prevent unnecessary frustration, expect to have a good time throughout the game's relatively brief run. With a more involving narrative presentation and less wonky combat elements, this could have been truly great.

There is a place for games like The Shoot, and it will appeal to a very specific audience of casual players, but for everyone else, it's hardly worth the price of admission. If you happen to find it in the bargain bin and are looking for some easy Trophies, you might want to give it a shot, but otherwise pass.

The DS version of MySims SkyHeroes is oddly more complicated and way less fun than the console versions. The story mode is missing the clever writing that I enjoyed in some of the previous MySims games, and the lack of variety in the missions makes most of them feel like a chore. The punishing gameplay takes away from what could be a really fun multiplayer experience.

In New Vegas, the fun Fallout 3 formula is intact, with more polished combat, high-quality side missions, and the exciting setting of the Vegas strip. Unfortunately, the bugs also tagged along for the ride. If Obsidian and Bethesda had polished up the game by fixing the AI, improving the animations or even gotten it to run smoothly, perhaps it would feel less like a giant expansion of Fallout 3 and more like its own game. Be that as it may, Fallout 3 was a great game, so as similar as it is, Fallout: New Vegas is still a fun ride that offers more for fans of the series to enjoy. If you can look past its shortcomings, this is definitely a wasteland worth exploring.

EA Sports MMA wrestles away the belt from the reigning champ with its stellar combat that feels much closer to the genuine article than what we’ve seen elsewhere. While its modes don’t span the same breadth of other sports titles, it gets things like the international flavor of MMA and the raw nature of the sport down perfectly. Now if they can just refine the AI a bit and add some meat to the scope of the career mode, this one will transcend MMA games and could contend for a spot as one of the best sports games of the year.

It all comes down, really, to whether you actually like to dance. If you don't, Just Dance 2 will hardly change your mind. Oddly enough though, liking games and liking to dance aren't mutually exclusive, and if – herein lies the rub – you hang out with people who like to dance and aren't particularly bothered about games, Just Dance 2 will change their minds. Excellently choreographed, amusingly varied and much better-presented than the original, Just Dance 2 is refreshingly uncomplicated fun. If you'd rather shoot aliens, that's fine, but games are an ever-more inclusive medium, and there's no need to be a misery and ruin it for everyone else.

The batch of Don Bluth laser disc games have been converted to pretty much every conceivable system, big and small – even the Game Boy Color got its own edition of Dragon's Lair. The Wii versions? Spot on and looking great, and certainly worth adding to your collection if you've never made the plunge over the last 15 years of direct ports. Just keep in mind these awesomely animating games play about as deep as a God of War quicktime event.

There's a lot to manage in Game Dev Story, and I'm not going to spoil some of the other surprises that the game has in store, so just do yourself a favor and go download it from the App Store for the modest price of $3.99. Its touch controls are excruciatingly easy and once you pick up Game Dev Story and invest an hour of your time, none of your friends or family will see you again for a very, very long time.
