Even if you're a young girl that adores Hannah Montana, or you're a parent looking for a good gift, do not purchase Hannah Montana: The Movie. It's a cheap, awkward, embarrassing attempt to cash in on the hype of the movie without adhering to any of the standards of modern rhythm/music games.

I expected to be underwhelmed by Star Force, going in, but this is one of those rare and unexpected surprise games that actually turned out to be more enjoyable than first guess would suggest. It's still not an amazing game, or even really one you'd call solidly good, as its simplicity, repetitive level design and too-tough level of challenge will probably turn off a lot of players. But if you don't reach for the power switch after just the first few minutes, and try to get into the relative unfairness of the no-power-ups design, you too might walk away with more of a grin than you'd thought you would. Star Force isn't the worst way to spend five bucks on the VCA.

As a game critic, I want to encourage developers to try new ideas. On the other hand, I also have to point out when those ideas don't exactly work. Away has an interesting premise, nice visuals, great audio, and an original take on an established genre. That original take isn't strong enough to carry the player throughout the entire game, though, and eventually the gimmick wears thin. Rather than being excited about the next dungeon, you may find yourself thinking, "Do I have to?" Still, I bet more than a few gamers out there will be won over by Away's high production values and charm.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins is by no means a revolution, either for the series or the stealth genre, and if you've played any of the previous titles, you will already have accurate expectations of this PSP sequel. But despite some issues with regard to character control, and the fact that some series staples like lots of rooftop exploration are oddly missing from the PSP effort, the end product is still fun. The 10-plus- hour game is full of thrills and strategy, not to mention satisfying assassination sequences, and you can keep playing long after you've completed the main mission, either attempting to better your level scores or exploring the dozens of quick, relatively easy side missions designed to extend replay value. The PSP version of Shadow Assassins has scored lower than its nearly- identical Wii predecessor -- content-wise, the two are the same -- for a couple of reasons. First, it obviously doesn't look quite as good as the big-screen version, running in 480p. Second, there are newfound load times before, between and after levels that really break the momentum. And third, you lose something when you go from the gesture-based controls to the analog stick, particularly where duel mode is concerned. Still, though, Tenchu is a fun PSP effort so long as you think of it as an all-new take on the franchise. The levels you play through are self- contained puzzles and not wide-open ninja-filled action-fests. If you prefer stealth to pure swordplay, you'll surely appreciate this approach.

The Godfather II places an interesting spin on the second film in the acclaimed series, adding emphasis on both strategy and action elements to give you a sense of what it's like to create and control your own empire. Multiplayer also puts a creative spin on using your henchmen to gain money and even items for your soldiers. However, players of action or strategy games of any variety will blow through this title thanks to the lack of difficulty in the single player campaign, and probably will only turn to the multiplayer once they've beaten the game, since they won't need to increase their henchmen's skills. It's still fun and has almost all of the elements of a great game, but until a harder difficulty level is added (which, fingers crossed, would occur with a future download or patch), The Godfather II falls a tad bit short.

At best, the mini-games of MySims Party offer a simple diversion for kids. At worst, they are an uninspired cash-in trying to coast on Electronic Arts' MySims property. The game is weighted more heavily with the former, so we modestly recommend it for younger players. It retains that cute MySims style and the single-card multiplayer is a nice touch. What is here is enough to be a fun, if generic, mini-game collection (again, for kids). In our review for MySims Kingdom last year we wrote that Electronic Arts could be doing much more with this franchise. That is still the case.

Wario Ware Snapped is a great tech demo that doesn't quite reach the obvious potential. The camera minigames are a lot of fun and that fun is enhanced with the payoff of the snapshots that have been taken during gameplay. It's a huge letdown that you can't save these snapshots, however, and hopefully Nintendo will let the team finish what they started so that gamers can send their wacky photo sessions to their friends.

Monsters vs. Aliens' biggest issue is just that it's so damned repetitive. What could have been entertaining in smaller doses instead drags on far too long, is recycled into tedium and ends up relegating the experience to the same bargain bin as just about every other licensed game.

The Tower of Druaga is, to me, woefully boring and pointless to play. It's slow-paced and not much fun even on the surface, and digging deeper than that just boggles the mind -- its extreme over-complication, with its tons of hidden collectible treasures and the associated random requirements for finding them, is just not what you want in an arcade maze game. I'm sure the title has its fans here, and Japan still seems to love it after all these years -- there it's been the recipient of several sequels and even inspired a recent anime series. But if you do choose to spend five bucks to begin scaling this tower, well, good luck with that.

Zubo is a fun, energetic little title from EA. It's a shame they didn't promote it more and make the humorous Zubo characters recognizable to kids. It's not a game that will be all that entertaining for anyone in the mid-teens or above, but it still might be worth stealing from a younger sibling to check out the unique blend of rhythm action and RPG.

I liked Worms on the 360 and I like Worms here on the PlayStation 3. The challenges can be tough, the multiplayer is fun and the ability to create a team and name its members is an awesome way to get you to care about your squad. Still, this is a lot like the game I played two years ago and suffers from the same, limited lifespan. Sure, Worms is fun, but only the hardcore, turn-based strategy fans will find themselves playing this over and over. To me, I felt like I had seen everything the game had to offer in a pretty short amount of time.

It's a shame that Stormrise had to suffer under so many issues, including inefficient group control and poor unit AI. The Whip Select system was a good idea and the basic premise behind Stormrise's gameplay is appetizing, but the entire project just doesn't come together properly. Even though Stormrise might have some cool moments and console players might be desperate for a good RTS experience, I recommend that you leave Stormrise on the shelf. The frustrations that come from playing it outweigh the game's few positive elements.
