The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft was a disappointment, especially after the Nancy Drew series by Her Interactive. Because of the literary connection between the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, you may have played the Her Interactive games and if you have, you're bound to expect that level of artistry and game play. Unfortunately, The Hidden Theft just doesn't deliver. The Hardy Boys stories are perfect for adventure games, containing all the ingredients necessary for success: an interesting premise, a good story, popular main characters but, due to substandard sound, art and level design, the recipe just doesn't gel.

For gamers willing to look past Twin Strike’s budget title status, you’re likely to find a relatively decent time. The game’s campaign, though ultimately a bit brief, provides some memorable missions and a few exciting enemy encounters. Graphics certainly won’t win any awards but they're adequate, albeit with one of the most boring art directions I’ve seen in the past few years. It would have been nice if the combat controls were a bit more responsive, but the game’s dual control schemes provide a mostly enjoyable experience for both casual and core gamers alike. In the end, Twin Strike: Operation Thunder is a decent choice for players looking to find a cheap way to pass the time, even if the game is just as generic and bland as its title implies.

The biggest strike against AC/DC Live is that it's just too expensive for what you get. It's too bad, because this is a fantastic set of songs. If you can't live without AC/DC, then pick this up now. Otherwise, I'd wait for an eventual price drop. In either case, don't buy AC/DC Live unless you plan import the tracks to Rock Band. It's really not worth a damn as a stand-alone game.

Look, I'm not going to pretend that my opinion matters much in this regard. This is High School Freaking Musical here, it's already entranced the nation with its catchy tunes and wholesome characters. If your kid loves High School Musical they are going to want Senior Year Dance, and they're probably going to love it because it has Troy and Gabriella and Sharpay and everybody else. But if you're trying to figure out which one to get for your kid (or hey, yourself, I'm not judging!), then listen up. The Wii version is $50 and has you swing your arms to dance. The PS2 version is $50 ($30 if you already have a dance pad) and you step on arrows to dance. It really just depends on if you like dance pad games or arm swinging dance games. The other two versions shouldn't even be contenders. The 360 version is a whopping $70 and is actually a worse version of the PS2 one because it freezes occasionally. Xbox Live support does not constitute the extra money. The PC version is the cheapest at $30 but totally misses the point by making you use your keyboard to play. They're all just okay rhythm games that have the benefit of featuring the most popular teenagers in the world.

Robocalypse offers fairly conventional RTS gameplay, but it is a well-oiled machine that plays very well. What is really unique here is the gleefully absurd humor and art style. The daft, irreverent tone is refreshing, and we should hope Lender and Wright have more game scripts up their sleeves. RTS titles are a rarity on the DS, and this is a polished effort. Strategy fans shouldn't let it go by unnoticed.

Exit isn’t the best franchise in the Taito galaxy of stars, but it has its strengths and the Nintendo DS version, even with its flaws, isn’t all that bad of a puzzle game. It does some things right, but other things wrong – just deal with the quirks and you’ll probably have a good time.

You have to commend Tetraedge for their effort in porting Syberia to the Nintendo DS. The very fact that they somehow managed to shrink a complex narrative and an intriguing, beautiful world onto a handheld in the first place is an impressive feat. Unfortunately, the qualities that made Syberia the critical success that it was six years ago didn't make the transition fully intact. The game's narrative and puzzles have been abridged, the DS specific controls are sloppy at best and the graphical degradation hurts what was one of the PC version's strongest selling points. Syberia is a gaming experience that really shouldn't be missed, just make sure you're playing on the PC where the game truly belongs.

The accessibility and relative depth of EndWar is good news for those out there that have looked at the real-time strategy genre with a skeptical or confused eye in the past. If you haven't played an RTS before, this is a good place to start. Those who are old-hats might find some things lacking such as the uninspired single-player campaign and the fact that there isn't much noticeable variety between the three factions. The lack of pizzazz, unfortunately, won't do anything for either camp. Still, EndWar offers something new, refreshing, and a little exciting for console players. It's sort of a coming of age when what could be seen as the last stalwart of the PC -- the RTS -- is made from the ground up with every classic convention put on the chopping block to please the couch player. This is a design that will surely be mimicked and improved upon in the future. For now, we have a good start and a game that is worth playing.

If you haven't yet downloaded Pac-Man C.E., Galaga Legions, Dig Dug or some of the other top-notch Namco XBLA offerings, Namco Museum Virtual Arcade is well worth the budget price tag. All the company’s XBLA games are here at a discount, and most are worth dealing with the awkward menu system. There are a few other classic games worth having here too, but many of the best have already been released in past compilations. If you already have these XBLA games or have access to Xbox Live, skip this one, though. The retro games along aren't worth the purchase.

EndWar DS is a perfectly suitable turn-based strategy game, but there are too many better titles of this sort available on Nintendo's handheld. Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Disgaea all have better visuals and more unique gameplay. If you're a strategy fiend and jonesing for a fix you could certainly do worse, but EndWar DS will likely soon be forgotten.

Quantum of Solace isn't a bad little action game on DS, but it is noticeably less cunning and sleek as the agent that inspires it. While stealth can be used to a certain extent, and while the added melee mode attempted to deepen the core experience, we often found ourselves getting just a strong of results from sprinting through the halls with 007 armed and dangerous, getting the jump on baddies, and then mowing them down from a rage of two or three feet. The camera is too close for any serious gunplay, and the lack of a cover system means you're often stat-mashing against other players to whittle down stats and ultimately deliver a killing blow, and stylus-only control is a bit odd in certain cases, specifically when dealing with "tap to shoot" controls that slightly manipulate the camera with every tap, or just aren't as satisfying or accurate as we'd like. If you're a Bond fan, and you've got your heart set on a pocket offering, Quantum of Solace will satisfy for at least a few sittings, with lots of options, character expansion, and some pretty impressive production values for a DS game. The gameplay though seems to take a back seat to the rest of the package, and while it still has its fun moments, there are a handful of better ways to do this type of game on DS.

But you might be less of a fan if you let this one pass by, as the delayed arrival of Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou in the States is an event that should be celebrated and supported by anyone who's ever enjoyed a Gradius game before. This Import is an excellent installment in a reliably solid series, and shooter fans should feel good about putting down nine digital dollars to give it a download. If we're lucky, Konami will continue to support the Virtual Console with more of the spin-offs, follow-ups and sequels that gave this series such a firm fanbase in the first place -- we'd still love to see games like Life Force, the Famicom version of Gradius II and the Parodius series make it to the Wii Shop as well.
