The only thing crazy about this mouse is that he got his own game that isn't some free-to-play Flash disaster. Instead, it's 400 Microsoft Points and not worth every cent. With excellent similar games on Xbox Live Arcade like Pac-Man: Championship Edition, this one is outclassed at every turn.

Rain Drops, from UFO Casual, seems to think casual gamers will play any match-three game put in front of them. But no matter how intense your enthusiasm for games is, we all want something fun and addictive to play. Rain Drops is neither. It never gives the player a reason to keep playing, and the typos even get in the way of progress. There are too many other good DS games in this genre to recommend this one. Trudging out into this rain will just wear you down.

If you have a group of like-minded friends (or are interested in making some), Age of Booty is an addictive online strategy game that rewards communication and teamwork. It’s simple to grasp, but there’s enough depth and balance to please hardcore players. The single-player mode, however, is damaged by uncooperative AI teammates who seem to be lone wolves more than a band of pirate brothers. Overall though, Age of Booty is a winner. Enjoy it with a tankard of your finest grog.

As with other well-regarded classic games that have come to the Virtual Console, it would be easy to continue to sing Secret of Mana's praises for many more pages -- there are many more reasons it's been named to the Top 100 Games of All Time, so many times, over the years. But the important point to make is that Secret of Mana is well worth your notice, and your investment of 800 Wii Points. For just eight bucks, you can rediscover (or experience for the first time) one of Squaresoft's most loved 16-bit SNES classics. And, better still, you can play it in an improved form -- it's easier to experience the incredible multiplayer capability of this game through its VC version than it ever was on the SNES. So grab two friends, put down your cash, and enjoy. You'll love finding out just what Mana's secret really is.

Cubello is a pretty impressive product, and a game that embraces the idea of WiiWare entirely. It's one entertaining core concept, and it's done with simplicity and polish. The game isn't much of a looker -- even Orbient is better looking -- but the presentation is slick, despite being devoid of more modes or options. Even the audio, which is done with robotic VO that keeps the chatter up every time you get bonus time unlocked or blow off a set of cubes is decent, but can get a bit annoying after a while. We played this one in our office at a regular level, and our co-workers wanted to kill us before a single match was done; these are people that hear Wii games all day, every day, mind you. Still, despite all the quirks and oddities that come with Cubello, there's also a simple charm that makes it really fun, and a great little download. At 600 points, and only 47 blocks (that's less than most Super NES games), this is a simple, entertaining little title that can -- and should -- fit perfectly in your packed fridge.

Unsolved Crimes is a solid graphic adventure with some unfortunate blemishes. The audience for these slow- paced games is already limited, and the dated visuals here may keep even more away. But I like the variety of game mechanics and found the cases to be genuinely engrossing. It makes good use of the DS touch screen and even has some nice sound design for ambient effect. The developers could have added more style and polish, but if you're just looking for a decent adventure game this should do the trick.

SingStar Country is a good SingStar game. Of course, if you hate country music, you'll hate this disc, but for those of us out there who dig the story-driven lyrics and rhymes of Nashville, this is a quality sampling of songs. Still, the franchise is looking old. The menus are fuzzy, the features are lacking, and there's only so much you can do with the PlayStation 2. Compared to the PlayStation 3 version of the franchise and the feature-laden Karaoke Revolution PS2 titles, SingStar on the PlayStation 2 is showing its age.

But beyond minor little differences like the Group Battle mode, this version of Street Fighter II just proves to be redundant here on the Virtual Console. While it is still a fine game on its own merits, there's very little reason to download Special Champion Edition when another, better edition of Street Fighter II is already on sale in the Wii Shop for the exact same price as this one. There will certainly be a few Genesis fans who rejoice at this specific version's arrival, and will purchase it out of a strong sense of nostalgia for this particular release. But everyone else is much better off getting more features and more characters for their money with Super Street Fighter II. And Capcom, let this be the end of it. If you also decide to bring out the Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II, you'll just be wasting everyone's time.

NBA Live All-Play seems to have made small strides this year on polishing a few aspects, and building on the original Wii design, but it isn't enough. This is the second year on Wii that we've played EA's NBA product, and for the second time in a row we've been welcomed by a game that's more offense-focused than NBA Jam, and a mess of gameplay bugs, interface issues, and overall sloppy development. Maybe the issue is a lack of time or budget, and if not, the franchise might be better suited for a different developer. Tiger struggled at first on Wii, and within one year of serious, committed development, has become one of the top franchises on Wii, and a possible sports game of the year over EA's own Madden. NBA can succeed, but in its current state, it's little more than EA's own brand of shovelware. Hopefully that can change for 2010, as an amazing basketball game can be made on Wii, and Nintendo is now providing even more tools to make that happen. Only time will tell though, and until then, NBA fans would do well to wait it out for next year.

Though you might be tempted to try out a music game on XBLA, this is not the one for you. Microsoft's Go! Go! Break Steady, while not brilliant, is far superior to this sorry offering. Beat'n Groovy is, in fact, not groovy at all. Awful songs, goofy visuals and poor design make this one of the worst games available on Xbox Live Arcade.

Well, I fought the kill instinct and saw some good in So Blonde, but that doesn't mean I think you should attempt the same. I know the spirit they're channeling here, but there are some off-putting aspects of their execution to overcome in order to appreciate it. If you like adventure games, and if you can put up with a cast of highly stereotyped and obnoxious characters, then I think the quirky appeal of this one might reach you through the frustrations I have detailed here. Otherwise you should find a different island to maroon yourself on -- it's not as if the scenario is uncommon.

Bratz: Girlz Really Rock! isn't the worst release the brand has seen. On the contrary, this is an effort that, while ultimately still remaining a mediocre product, showed some signs of moving the franchise in the right direction with its admittedly decent fashion-focused elements. So if the Bratz brand does manage to somehow live on after the lawsuit loss to Mattel's Barbie, there could be some elements here for a sequel to build on. And, if Bratz is truly done, it at least leaves the stage with a glimpse of the potential for the good game that might have happened in some alternate future. A final note about control -- it's pretty much even. This home console take on Bratz: Girlz Really Rock! was released for both the PS2 and Wii, meaning, of course, that the Wii version slaps a lot of motion control into the games that are otherwise more traditionally controlled on the PlayStation side. Some of the IR pointing is finicky, but it's not too detrimental. More of a concern is the repetitive waggling motions used in the music games -- you'll definitely get tired of shaking your wrist down over and over again to simulate playing a keyboard.

Tenchu: Shadow Assault feels disjointed and lacks focus. Neither dissimilar half works well alone and together they appear confused. A solid Live Arcade game that focused solely on the style of gameplay the Tenchu series became famous for would have been great, but this is not the sort of thing old-school Tenchu fans will find attractive. As for the multiplayer game, just stick with the superior Bomberman.

It's great to see that The Life has crossed over to the PS3, but it's mild implementation only highlights some of the problems of this year's title. With a plethora of old bugs and issues rearing their head, NBA 09: The Inside has a ton of problems that overwhelm the title. It's still a fun, arcade-style basketball game, but you're going to have to put up strange gameplay problems that have plagued the franchise for years and some unrealistic court play to fully enjoy it.
