As with almost every Xbox Live Arcade release, Frogger 2 is most enjoyable when playing multiplayer, but even then it’s not great and considering the difficulty we had finding an opponent, matches will likely be few and far between. The single-player is overly frustrating and betrays the cute and cuddly visual style of the game. Pick this up if you’re desperate to break a few controllers or if you’re a diehard Frogger player. Otherwise, move right along.

I'm always weary of movies turn videogames as the publishers and developers involved seldom do the original property justice. But here we have Speed Racer for Wii and believe it or not, it's a surprisingly adept and entertaining racing game. The fundamental gameplay mechanics are strong, the control well done, and the visual presentation more or less perfectly in tune with the film. I think maker Sidhe Interactive definitely hit upon a winning formula, even if it is as straightforward as can be; there's no real storyline, just racing. The game's got a few problems, though -- its selection of tracks is disappointingly thin and the AI never relents, even when it should. If you're a die-hard Racer fan or newly in love with the Wachowski brothers movie, you might want to check this racer out. But if you're looking for a long-lasting game full of diversity, this is unfortunately not it -- a truth harder to forgive when you consider that WB's title retails for full price.

Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa may have never legitimately come to the United States while the NES was the pinnacle of American gaming, but it's finally arrived now, for real, for the Virtual Console. It's not a sensational title by any means, but it is decent, wholesome fun with a colorful kiddie theme and should appeal to fans of old-school 8-bit platformers. Playing it today makes me wish that I had actually rented it when I first saw it on the rack 20 years ago, even though it was wrapped up in that fake Baby Mario label – but that mistake of the past is easily erased now with the investment of 600 Wii Points. (One extra buck, of course, because this is one of Nintendo's "Import" releases.)

Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is a strong fighting game, with combat mechanics that are both simple and deep. There are some issues in terms of variety, however, with a limited number of stages and characters that are fairly similar to one another. Regardless, DBZ fans will likely find a lot to enjoy here, which is really what matters.

Gamers who enjoy physics based puzzle games like Portal and challenging old-school 2D games will get a kick out of Trials 2. This game has been tailor made to meet the demands of competitive gamers. However, this game isn't for everyone. The learning curve will be too much for some. Overall this game achieves what it sets out to do with flying colors. It's calculated mayhem at its best. The game runs for $9.99 on Valve's Steam service. For that price it will give you a bloody good time.

In a crowded field of throwback arcade shooters on XBLA, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 just doesn’t stand out. The nostalgia of the Commando name isn’t enough to carry this one beyond the ordinary, and the lackluster graphics and generic art style don't help either. As arcade shooters go, Commando 3 isn’t a bad game, but it's just nothing special. Overall, we can't help but be disappointed.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter had serious potential. With the Don King name, a nice stable of fighters and venues and entry music to match the excitement of the sport you’d think that things were in line for a great challenger to Fight Night’s crown. Not so. The poorly constructed gameplay handcuffs the game from the word “go” and it never recovers. It’s neither strategic or arcadey in nature and the animations are just plain ugly to watch. Boxing fans will just have to wait for the fourth addition to the Fight Night series in 2009 for another worthy addition to their boxing library.

The Incredible Hulk is pretty much a straight sequel to Ultimate Destruction. Trouble is, Edge of Reality took out far more than it added. Though Hulk is a serviceable game that can be enjoyed over a weekend, it feels outdated. If you are a die-hard Hulk fan or the type who loves destroying treasured landmarks, then The Incredible Hulk is at least worth a rental.

If you were looking for a good top-down shooter for $9.99, NovaStrike isn't it. The gameplay is extremely bland, with only larger numbers of ships, bullets and targets awaiting on higher difficulty levels. Scythe aim is too imprecise, and accidental destruction of allies is way too easy. Visuals are too generic and extremely small unless you're immediately next to the screen. Save your money on this one and pick up one of the other shooters on the PSN if you're in the mood to blast something.

When I reviewed Spider-Man 3 for the Nintendo DS last year, I made it known that, as awesome as it was, I couldn't wait to see that engine evolved into future games. Kung Fu Panda is the next game to use that engine and similar mechanics, but it didn't come out quite as gracefully as Spider-Man 3. It looks and sounds good and plays like a fun, kid-friendly brawler-focused Castlevania, but the touch-screen controls aren't as tight and the design misses a few opportunities. Still, it beats the pants off most other developer's licensed DS games, so you should at least give this game a peek if you're into the Kung Fu Panda thing.

Traveller's Tales has once again delivered an experience that boils down to smashing stuff over and over again while searching for secrets, while also managing to make that formula fun and addictive. It's certainly not a huge leap over the LEGO Star Wars titles, and in fact still has some of that series' issues, but it's no less enthralling and certainly a fun adventure worth taking on.
