Happy Tree Friends is a decent game that will please fans, but will end up boring most gamers. The difficulty never really ramps up from level 1 to level 30 and the levels are so short, you'll be done before dinner's ready. Everyone should check out the bonus episode unlocked by beating Happy Tree Friends, but it's hard to recommend you pay $10 for that privilege.

Even with all these concerns, I can still see why some people enjoyed Overlord. It has some good ideas and certain sections can be fun, but I just didn't get much satisfaction out of the experience. And while it's extremely nice that the PS3 version doesn't seem to be as buggy (though you can never be totally sure) and includes the expansion content along with the original stuff, it's still sixty dollars. You can get the 360 version and the expansion content for thirty. If price isn't an issue, the PS3 version is essentially superior (especially with the new in-game mini-map). If you're really that interested in Overlord, give it a shot -- just be extremely wary of the aforementioned problems.

ActRaiser 2 is not as good as the original game – the loss of those Civ scenes is a hefty blow. But the addition of some very smart allusions to medieval religious texts and apocryphal storytelling is more than welcome. Plus, the art and music? Wow. While you definitely should score the original first, this is still a solid addition for your SNES collection and a real testament to the artistry prevalent in the 16-bit generation. Polygons are sometimes such a crutch.

At its core, Supreme Commander is a good game. It's just surprising that it passed Microsoft certification in its current form. Technical issues like crashes, slowdown, impaired AI, and inexplicable momentary lockups paired with much uglier graphics than what the PC mar this release to the point of no return. The game that PC owners adored in 2007 has received a poor port to Xbox 360 that is more of a disappointment than anything else.

In the end, Gyrostarr can be a pretty fun experience, though one that we think could use a sequel to really focus, refine, and capitalize on. The controller situation is a bit odd, as it doesn't auto-detect if a classic controller is being used, so you're constantly moving from Wii-mote to nunchuk or classic controller between games. Tilt control is added as well for those that want it, but it's totally digital, so tilt only engages the left and right directions in an "on/off" fashion, removing the finesse of motion control. The game is caught half way between a high score and overall stage-to-stage design, and multiplayer between a vs. and co-op experience in turn. Visually the game has a nice sense of speed when it actually pushes itself, but it could tend to be faster overall. The graphics look nice for a WiiWare game though, and the audio is a nice mix of shooter and F-Zero-like techno riffs. For 700 WiiWare points, it's a great option despite it's faults. We'd just love to see High Voltage Software refine the design and hit us with a sequel; though if it's put on temporary hold in order to finish Animales de la Muerte, we more than understand.

Ultimately, it is disappointing that so many features were left out of the Wii version. I would understand if the Wii just couldn't handle it, but Guitar Hero World Tour seems to be figuring it out. If Activision delivers on that promise, it will seem like Rock Band completely dropped the ball with this Wii version. But as of this writing, Rock Band is the ultimate multiplayer music game. It's got great songs, an improved drum set, and will still be the life of the party.

It’s in the emotional aspect of the sport that TS3 loses steam. There’s so much more to the present-day brand of tennis than what is represented here. One day there will be tennis game that can accurately convey the emotion of watching two titans of the sport slam it out in a five-set, four and a half-hour marathon under the New York lights, but until that happens tennis games will never be wholly representative of the genuine article.

But all of these oddities added together somehow managed to created a cohesive whole, years ago, and Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a game that’s just too classic and unique not to recommend. For just five bucks you can invest in a download of the title from Nintendo’s Wii Shop and find out why there are so many fans of the game and the Alex Kidd character still today, almost two decades after he last headlined a new adventure. Gaming should be about having fun. Operation Darkness teases that with werewolves, vampires, Jack the Ripper and more crazy beings that have no place in World War II. Then it slaps fun in the face until it runs home crying. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.

It would be nice to get another mature Tactics game like the original, but A2 won me over quickly with its beautiful visuals and deep, strategic gameplay. This is one of those desert island games you'd want with you if you were stranded with nothing to do. Four hundred quests, lots of customization options, and some of the best turn-based strategy around will keep you playing for a long time.

There's nothing too special about Fatal Inertia EX. It's fun and definitely has its moments, but it could run a lot better. There are several far superior racing games out there, but considering that EX will only run you $29.99 when the 360 version was a full-priced retail game, I'd say this is the version to get. If you're itching for a new arcade racer and you think thirty bucks is a fair price, this is a fine purchase -- if you can tolerate the aforementioned issues.
