Spectrobes is way more game than is really necessary. Jupiter has some great concepts and tried to jam them all into one game. Things like the card system and the incubator seemed not fully developed, and could have possibly been left out; especially if that meant more Wifi play could have been added. The fossil excavation is a unique and well done element and is really the most enjoyable part of the game, especially since the rest of Spectrobes is easy enough to beat in a weekend. For a new franchise, Spectrobes has a lot of potential, and it's great to see a developer taking full use of the DS's capabilities. Spectrobes may not be destined to become a huge overnight success like Pok¿mon did, but with it's innovative ideas, and Disney's money, it could be a bigger force to be reckoned with than the Krawl.

It’s important to point out that I didn’t come into this game with high expectations. I knew I was about to play PlayStation port and should be ready for dated graphics, but this is just a game featuring weak gameplay, graphics, story and sound. Although I don't think Jumping Flash! has a place on my PSP, I'm not knocking it's history -- I'm just saying it didn't stand the test of time.

This game isn’t going to be a must-own for the typical IGN reader. It’s a very simple hop and bop kids game geared toward a younger audience, but some of the visuals go beyond even what Nintendo’s pulling off in their games. This is 3D done beautifully, and there’s solid gameplay here to back it up. Any kid or longtime Garfield fan will eat this game up like a plate of hot spaghetti.

GRAW 2 is very much an enhanced re-tooling and re-polishing of GRAW 1, and that's fine by me. Not everything can be brand new each year. Some of the new features are better than others (the added viewpoints and controls are great, while the Mule is forgettable), while lots of little things were streamlined and made easier (like weapon switching and shooting from a copter). The core game plays like a smoother, better-paced, and more vehicle-heavy GRAW 1, which is a good if familiar thing. The single-player campaign, unfortunately, seems a little short and even a little too easy, which is a bummer. But the co-op mode and the MP modes are deep, highly customizable, and great fun so for some players, that might make up for the single-player campaign's brevity.

While this is a weak showing, Def Jam: Icon definitely shows where the series is headed. The incredibly rendered artists and destructible environments, an uncensored soundtrack and DJ controls are a huge bonus for the musically infused franchise. On the other hand, weak fighting moves, a lackluster story mode and inconsistent game mechanics complicate what would otherwise be the evolution of the franchise.

Ice Climber was part of the "NES Classics" series chosen for re-release on the Game Boy Advance in 2004. It was also hidden in the GameCube game Animal Crossing a few years before that, and was one of the games released on the e-Reader card format around the same time. Through those three releases, or even with the original NES cartridge, it's entirely possible that you've already had the chance to experience Ice Climber. But for those who've missed out on it over the years, and for those who might be looking for another fun two-player co-op experience, it's definitely worth consideration.

If you’re a college basketball fan and you own a PS3, there’s really no reason you shouldn’t buy this game. The Legacy mode is deep, you can create your own online leagues and when all that gets boring, you can try to make dirty chants in Chant Creator. It’s the basketball title that keeps on giving.

Harlem Globetrotters World Tour has very little to offer to anyone. It's a stupid, clumsy game that's not fun to play, easy to exploit and bears none of the humor and antics of the team it's based on. The menus and FMV intro are okay, but everything else is awful. Gamers looking for an arcade-style basketball game on the DS can do better, and fans of the Globetrotters will be confused and annoyed by the absence of everything memorable about the team. Anyone who gets this game as a gift will have more fun making a 3-pointer with it in the trash.

Catz isn't a bad gaming experience – it's just not a good one, either. Its frustrating camera controls and lack of activities and fun things to do with your cat balance out the positive effects brought on by its solid 3D visual design and clean, organized menu system, so the whole thing ends up a middle-of-the-road wash. A third of the world may prefer cats over dogs, but there's no chance even a third of DS owners would prefer these Catz over Nintendogs.

16 years after its initial debut on the Super Nintendo, Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts holds up surprisingly well even with more complex platformers emerging thereafter. Maybe I’ve lost my touch, or my fingers are far chubbier than they used to be, but I found the game to be pretty darn tough on my first run through (it took me an hour to pass the first level). Fans of the series will find that everything is perfectly intact, and is as much fun now as it ever was. If you enjoy platformers and are looking for a good ol’ fashioned challenge, drop the 800 Wii points on the shopping channel, and start slaying the undead.

Burnout Dominator is best thought of as a "Greatest Hits, but Not All of Them" from the Burnout series. The racing is just as adrenaline pumping as it's ever been, and possibly even more so than what we saw in Burnout Revenge as you need to be afraid of traffic once again. However, the lack of standard features and modes like online play and Crash are a rather big disappointment. It's certainly worth a pick-up, but if you're looking for the true next title in the series, you'll have to wait for Burnout 5.
