World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions easily ranks amongst the best videogame poker titles out there, and depending on what you're looking for, may indeed be the best. Its AI is generally very solid, the presentation is all-around great (even if the animations don't match the bet amount in any way), and it's set up in an easy to play manner. If you're looking for a good poker title, definitely check this one out. Editor's Note: Chris Roper's closing comments pertain to the multi-console versions, and were written pre-Wii release.

NFL Street 3 is a fun title that is trying to stretch the series in a few new directions, and for the most part, it succeeds. The inclusion of new game types helps players who¿ve outgrown the older street events, and removing Gamebreakers from the cutscene format is a definite improvement for in-game strategy. However, some of the other facets of the game, like the mildly augmented aerial system and recycled visual format may make some players feel like they¿ve played this game before.

Rally Cross can be a reasonably fun game if you spend enough time to really learn the courses and get into the game. You need to came at it with a good and open attitude however as it's largely unforgiving, especially at the start. The lack of multiplayer is disappointing as it would certainly be fun, and manual racers need not apply.

Mario Kart 64 arrived in America almost exactly 10 years ago, and the fans found it immediately. The game was a phenomenal sales success for Nintendo, selling over a million copies in just its first two months on the market, and paving the way for more great multiplayer games (like GoldenEye) to come later that same year. If you never owned an original Kart cartridge, consider this download. But if you've still got the old N64, four dust-covered controllers and the game itself sitting in a closet somewhere, do some digging. This re-release comes close to capturing the full spirit of the original version, but playing it old-school remains superior.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a wonderful classic game to have holding down a spot in your Wii's array of channels. The only thing that should hold you back is your own personal history with the title – you may be one of the millions who've already played this game to death over the years, or you may already own it in another form. This Sonic has made encore appearances in Sonic Mega Collection on the GameCube, Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2 and Xbox, Sega Genesis Collection on the PS2 ... the list goes on and on. So check your last-gen library, check your sense of nostalgia, check to make sure you don't still have your old Genesis hooked up to AV port 3, collecting dust behind your entertainment center, and then feel free to jump back in. It's still fun to run in Sonic's shoes, even after 16 years.

This game is all we American gamers ever got of F-Zero on the Super NES, and it was certainly a good first effort. If you enjoy originality and speed, show it some love.

With 60 Quest stages to tackle and the same number of puzzles, there's plenty to keep you coming back to Actionloop. Thanks to the stylus control, matching up colours and clearing the screen of balls is both rewarding and challenging. If you’re willing to invest the time mastering its nuances, then Actionloop becomes a very enjoyable, if tricky, addition to the DS’s puzzle catalogue. Our only real complaint is Mitchell’s utterly functional presentation (although at least this one’s in colour, unlike Polarium). Still, the majority of puzzle fans should be used to this kind of thing by now - don't let it put you off what's an otherwise extremely engaging DS offering.

It took a while, but Song of the Ocean is easily the best title of the Legend of Heroes trilogy. Even though it’s a standalone title, it's nice to see a little bonus provided for series fans with the new battle scenes and cameos of previous characters. It's also nice to see a few new features within the battle system. However, even with these changes to the game, Song of the Ocean still falls victim to some of the problems that have hampered the series. It's the strongest title of the trilogy, but it's still a ways away from being a must have RPG.

Jewel Quest II is a great sequel to the very successful original puzzler. It adds some new mechanics and really improves the production values, something that I think will go a long way toward keeping eyeballs on the game. There dozens upon dozens of puzzles, so this isn't one you'll finish up in a weekend. I mentioned in a few places that the game is much harder because I think it's extremely important for prospective downloaders to know and it also helps explain why I scored it lower than the original. The first JQ was hardly a breeze, but expect to replay puzzles more than once in order to clear them and move on through the game. This does add a lot of replay value to the game, but I confess on occasion, it wasn't the kind of replay I necessarily enjoy. "Come on, stupid gems!" I would occasionally exclaim while playing, but with some added colorful language. If you suffer from the same kind of verbal slips, you may want to play Jewel Quest II in private, too.

Spyro the Dragon has a fairly long history in the video game world, getting passed around to a few different companies. He's seen his ups and down on nearly every major console since the Playstation. The GBA had been good to our purple hero though, and for years fans could count on some really solid Spyro action on the handheld. The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning fails to capture the appeal that the past games had. The graphics are pretty bland, and the gameplay, while at first glance promising, turns out to be insultingly easy. For long time fans of the series, this game is going to be a let down. And newcomers that are picking up a Spyro game for the first time are going to get burned.

While the 360 version of March Madness 07 does a lot of things right for the college game, the current gen version of the game falls short. The largest strike against the game is the minimal improvements to last year's formula while not fixing persistent issues, such as fatigue, animation clipthroughs, and questionable AI. While it's obvious that more attention is being focused on the next-gen versions of the game, if there does happen to be a March Madness for 08, let's hope that some of these generic issues are solved.

The Totally Spies license is one that could be adapted into a fun and focused video game experience. It's got the potential to be interpreted into an action design, or a fresh take on the stealth genre. But it definitely doesn't work as a tossed-together mash-up of mini-games. This game is a mess, in pretty much every aspect. Its presentation is lacking. It has graphical issues. Its sound is annoying and the mini-games themselves just aren't much fun. Totally Spies! 2: Undercover is a compromised agent. The government has disavowed all knowledge of the game's existence, and you should too.

It was great for free, as a packed-in Genesis cartridge back in 1989. It’s not so great, or even good, for 800 Points, as a digitally downloadable Virtual Console title on the Wii today. Altered Beast should only be considered for download by Sega gamers of yesteryear, nostalgic to re-experience this arcade port in all its voice-distorting glory. Other players simply looking for fresh and inventive games from the Genesis back catalog would be better served spending their Wii Points on pretty much any other Sega title on offer. Pack-ins may be making a comeback, but Altered Beast is one old bundled bonus that you wouldn’t have missed much if it had been left out of the box.
