I gave warning that we¿d wrack up coverage of an impressive series of flaws while reviewing Beyond Divinity; and so we have. But at the same time, most of them can be fixed or tweaked. Given Larian¿s record in this respect with Divine Divinity, I would expect the game to be pretty airtight in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, the results are certainly highly playable and extremely enjoyable with reservations noted. This is an entertaining and challenging RPG, with less of an emphasis on finger-twitching than thought. I¿m willing to cut any developer some slack if they try to do more than clone than previous product. Larian has clearly gone a lot farther. If the game balance had matched the creativity and attention to overall design put into this title, I would probably have given it a 90%, because the detail of construction and depth of the environment are truly excellent. But with this many unresolved issues, Beyond Divinity gets an 80%. That¿s still a strong endorsement and hopefully a prod in the fundament to companies that think bugs are an insect gamers pay you to spray.

If you’re a hardcore soccer fan, this game is a decent addition to the pantheon of EA footie offerings. Although it doesn’t share the scope of regular old FIFA, it’ll keep you warm until a new one ships next year. If you can’t spare the dough, though, you’re not going to be missing much you haven’t already played. That’s what makes this game tough to judge… it’s not really for the casual, and definitely not for anyone who wants to play as a team from any of the other six continents.

Vicarious Visions' side-scrolling designs continue to evolve throughout the Game Boy Advance's life, and for Shrek 2 the team has created a decent, though younger-skewed, game that lifts a lot from The Lost Vikings. Graphically, the game's an absolute treat, especially for those who dig the artstyle of the film. Challenge-wise, though, there's not much here to call the game "difficult." It's a fun, easy game to breeze through in a few hours, with a handful of taxing elements put in there for those perfectionist who appreciate a bit of replay value, and want to beat the game's challenges 100%.

Dead Man's Hand has a number of technical issues that keep me from recommending it to serious gamers. However, some players will be able to put aside these shortcomings and salvage some fun from the mindless shooting and destructible environments. Although Dead Man's Hand has a number of glaring problems, it has some potential. The strength of the PC shooter market however means that the game should only really appeal to gamers whose systems aren't powerful enough to run more polished shooters.

This title's saving grace is its $20 asking price. Even so, there's no guarantee that the relatively simple mechanics won't start to wear on you. They sure did on me. Without offering a little more depth to either the tactical or strategic aspects of the game, we're left with two experiences that are integrated well enough but leave us wanting more. For $20, Lords of the Realm 3 offers a nice diversion and a pleasant change of pace from more top-heavy RTS games, but you'll soon be missing the sophistication found in games like Medieval Total War, which is also $20 now.

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is a must have for stealth fans mainly because of the multiplayer mode. It's a new way to get even more out of your online experience and shouldn't be missed because of this. Fans of the original and those wanting to go solo will definitely appreciate Pandora Tomorrow as well, although I have to admit I wasn't blown away by the solo campaign like I was the first time. The revolution in stealth-action can only happen once, so if you're looking for it here, then be sure to check out the multiplayer mode.

MTX: Mototrax excels where it really needs to: providing that sense of speed and creating a fun driving system that rewards racers with plenty of skidding and massive jumps. The riders look like they have a sense of weight to them and the tricks look fantastic. With a well-executed online system, racing others on the Internet is a user-friendly experience. The tracks themselves have plenty of twists, turns and jumps to master, but a total of 16 racing tracks is a little small, especially if a gamer strongly prefers either supercross or motocross racing. The Free Ride areas and the Freestyle course give a nod to the world of freestyle racing, but MTX: Mototrax doesn't flesh them out enough to make it a completely worthwhile addition to the game. Overall, MTX: Mototrax provides one of the best places for the experience of racing in the dirt and having it online makes it even better. The racing tracks are fun to ride and with online stats there's a compelling reason to keep shaving seconds off your time. If only there were more tracks to race on.
