Ace Combat Infinity non sembra aver approcciato al meglio un modello delicato e controverso come il free to play, che generalmente parte dai numeri per costruire un rapporto con gli utenti che porti poi alla tanto agognata monetizzazione. Sono infatti proprio i numeri che mancano, visto che le cinque missioni della campagna si completano in un nulla e l'unica modalità online disponibile esaurisce rapidamente il proprio appeal, anch'essa a causa di una dotazione limitata. Il gameplay è quello di Ace Combat, ci sono alcune buone idee e un interessante elemento di progressione rappresentato dallo sblocco degli aerei e delle armi, ma a fronte anche di una grafica datata ciò che Bandai Namco ha messo sul tavolo è un po' poco per definire questo nuovo esperimento un successo.
