Rise of the Ronin sigue pareciéndome el mejor trabajo de Team Ninja desde Nioh y asumiendo que el estudio no es de los más punteros en términos gráficos, no esperaba un enorme cisma entre PS5 y PC, pero sin duda un poco más de sazón a esta última versión. Con algunos problemas de rendimiento que no parecen excusar su apartado visual y funciones que es mejor desactivar, este mundo abierto le falta un pelín para poder ser recomendado al 100%; y si tuviera que recomendarlo, lo haría con varios asteriscos y avisos.

Wanderstop è un videogioco sinestetico: basta preparare un tè profumato alla cannella per ricordarsi le serate spese sul divano, sotto le coperte, sorseggiando una bevanda calda con la persona che ami. È un posto dell'anima, romantico e malinconico, una parentesi dove fare un profondo respiro per sottrarsi all'eterna performance della vita. Lo è per Alta, la nostra protagonista, che già dal nome rappresenta una promessa di eccellenza, e lo è per Davey Wreden, geniale creatore di The Stanley Parable, che questa volta dirige un videogioco sull'importanza di trovare uno spazio per noi stessi, così come siamo, spogliati da ogni aspettativa.

Toward the end of Wanderstop, a rather brash character returns to the grove and asks Alta for a uniquely annoying cup of tea. This moment follows several narrative revelations, Alta and Boro having reached a point where they at least understand not everything can be fixed with a cup of tea but it might be worth still trying anyway. Alta, barely coping with this new way of life, asks Boro what she should do in these final days at the Wanderstop, to which he characteristically replies whatever she feels like; the point of this moment in time being that there is often no should do, simply what you wish to do for yourself. Looking over the extensive ingredients required for that last cup of tea, I finally took Boro’s words to heart. Wanderstop had achieved its lofty goals in perhaps the most abstracted way possible as I simply put the controller down and called my partner to listen to inane details about his day while the game uninstalled and I moved on with my life. I’d tell you I made a cuppa too, but that would be a lie.

Wanderstop ha principalmente due meriti. Preso come un cozy game, funziona molto bene, il loop di gioco è semplice e rilassante e non ricade nei soliti cliché prestazionali di molti titoli moderni. Dal punto di vista narrativo, la storia messa in scena è sicuramente efficace e pone l'accento su situazioni reali da cui purtroppo tutti siamo più o meno toccati. D'altro canto, siamo ben lontani dagli apici qualitativi raggiunti dalle precedenti opere di Wreden e Zimonja. Il confronto con The Stanley Parable e Gone Home non regge. A Wanderstop manca quella follia sperimentale che tante volte abbiamo sperato apparisse davanti ai nostri occhi e lo stesso racconto avanza senza troppi imprevisti e con qualche colpo di scena solo nel momento del bisogno.

L'unica cosa a remare contro FragPunk è la sensazione che i suoi eroi abbiano un design poco originale e delle abilità già viste. Il gunplay delle armi, la struttura dei round e la meccanica delle carte, però, sono fatti così bene che quasi non ci si accorge dei difetti tanto è il divertimento che il gioco genera con i suoi sistemi di base. Ogni round è effettivamente diverso dall'altro grazie alle Shard Cards e tutti quei sistemi che rendono ostile e complesso uno sparatutto tattico sono stati rimossi o trasformati in meccaniche attorno alle quali far ruotare eroi o potenziamenti. La monetizzazione non è particolarmente invasiva e tutti i personaggi sono sbloccabili giocando senza aprire il portafoglio. Se c'è uno sparatutto in prima persona che può farcela a lasciare il segno su questo mercato iper-saturo è FragPunk e non possiamo che raccomandarvi di provarlo per una serata di divertimento irriverente.

Poco más se puede hablar de este Momodora: Moonlit Farewell. Si eres un fiel seguidor de la saga, no te contaré nada que no sepas ya, porque hace un año que ya lo habrás disfrutado, seguro; pero si eres recién llegado y te llama la atención el género Metroid, lánzate, que no te va a decepcionar ni un solo ápice. Se agradecen juegos así: económicos de precio pero con un talento y un saber hacer tan profesional, que da hasta rabia que cueste tan poco.

Me encanta que Josef Fares siga apostando por hacer multijugadores cooperativos de este tipo. Cada vez son menos los títulos no ya que estén cimentados en la pantalla partida o a sentarte en un mismo sofá a jugar con tu amigo, sino que incluyan siquiera este modo. Si nos salimos de sus juegos, como experiencias recientes de este nivel de calidad tenemos Cuphead, que es una gozada, y poco más. En mi caso veo Split Fiction como un derroche de creatividad jugable que va más allá. La manera de integrar las historias de las escritoras con las conversaciones y sus vivencias son maravillosas. Componen una propuesta con contrapuntos simpáticos para complementar el verdadero sobresaliente de la experiencia: la jugabilidad. La originalidad está por encima de todo, de los puzles, del diseño de niveles, de la trama y de la dificultad.
