Nel tempo che lo separava dal lancio Underworld Ascendant ci ha sedotti con delle aspettative mastodontiche poco affini alle dimensioni del progetto, ma si è dimostrato deludente alla stregua di un tradimento amoroso. Seppur OtherSide Entertainment comunica di essere a conoscenza delle problematiche e si dice molto dispiaciuta, non bastano le promesse di uno studio un tempo stellare a rasserenare gli animi dei backers su Kickstarter e a cancellare un lancio che ha del disastroso. Neppure l’evidenza di un level design eccellente risolleva, quindi, le sorti di un titolo che avrebbe dovuto, insieme a System Shock 3 (al quale sta lavorando lo stesso team), ravvivare il genere degli immersive sim.

Fallout 76 is sure to be a divisive game. I’m confident that most people won’t be able to forgive its many flaws, especially those going into it expecting a solo experience similar to Fallout 4, but I also think that those looking for a multiplayer Fallout experience will get a kick out of Fallout 76, particularly once Bethesda patches some of the game’s most glaring bugs. As much as I’d like to be able to tell you that this title is terrible or amazing, the truth is that it’s just okay.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a great way to experience a fantastic collection of games. Accessibility tweaks and small additions make this the definitive way to play the original trilogy regardless of whether you're experiencing it for the first time or revisiting one of your favorites.

L'idea è semplice ma abbastanza bizzarra e originale da attirare subito l'attenzione, sostenuta da una rappresentazione grafica che punta tutto sulla pulizia del tratto per essere affascinante. Golf Peaks ci fa immergere nel suo mondo di carte e palline su piste sospese, facendoci entrare nelle sue meccaniche con una progressione ben ritmata e sostenibile, fino ad arrivare agli elementi di vera sfida nel cuore del gioco. Si tratta di una profonda reinterpretazione del golf come puzzle strategico che funziona perfettamente, divertendo e stimolando il pensiero come una sorta di partita a scacchi. Peccato per la sua durata piuttosto esigua ma tutto considerato è un acquisto da fare, per chi apprezza un'esperienza riflessiva e rilassante, forse più adatta alle piattaforme mobile che al PC.

Bendy and the Ink Machine takes players down a corrupted nostalgia trip, full of old school cartoon characters mixed with twisted horror. Exploration, puzzle solving, and the occasional fight are the name of the game, even if the save system could be better. If you don't enter Joey Drew Studios for the gameplay, you'll be enthralled by the story.

À trop vouloir en faire, Fallout 76 rate tout ce qu'il entreprend et ne parvient jamais à se forger sa propre identité. Son approche multijoueur entraîne la disparition des décisions morales qui faisaient la grandeur de la série, et il ne lui reste plus qu'un amas de mécaniques de jeu hétéroclites et contradictoires, sans oublier un contenu de haut-niveau bien plus poussif qu'exaltant. En se montrant incapable de définir clairement l'orientation de ce nouveau volet, Bethesda a définitivement raté le coche avec Fallout 76.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker sets up an epic story, expansive world, difficult combat, and lively characters, but all these elements eventually become tiresome. Its unforgiving difficulty and strict adherence to Pathfinder tabletop rules will likely turn away more players than it attracts, and while its kingdom management sim sets it apart from similar RPGs, no part of the game ever feels wholly original. Despite boldly putting players in the role of a king or queen, it never engages enough with the consequences of your decisions, or whether you have the right to make them at all.
