Non c'è dubbio sul fatto che SNK 40th Anniversary Collection centri in pieno l'obiettivo di proporre una raccolta in grado di celebrare l'inizio e l'affermazione della compagnia sul mercato nipponico negli anni '80, con una cura nella ricostruzione storica e nella riproposizione dei titoli d'epoca che ha molto del documentaristico e dimostrando un po' a tutti come si debba fare un'operazione del genere nella giusta maniera. Il problema potrebbero essere proprio i giochi: da titoli arcaici ad altri che possono sembrare un po' astrusi, molti dei quali non godono più di tanto dell'effetto nostalgia da queste parti, non è facile attribuire il giusto valore a una raccolta per cui l'interesse potrebbe durare poco anche per la cifra a cui viene proposta. Tuttavia il fan di SNK, dello spirit nipponico anni 80 o semplicemente chi nutre interesse nella storia dei videogiochi la troverà sicuramente interessante.

Réservé aux fans de Warhammer, cet opus Mechanicus s'est voulu un véritable calvaire à tester ! Mais au bout du compte, on ne peux pas dire qu'on passe un mauvais moment malgré sa difficulté poussée. C'est peut-être enfin l'occasion pour les novices de s'ouvrir à cet univers étendu, si particulier et tellement aimé depuis 1987.

Hitman 2 offers is more of the same, but that same is sharper, prettier, and more refined. The new additions are great improvements and the maps are some of the series' strongest.

Très certainement avec un budget relativement limité, Bulwark Studios a réussi à comprendre et maîtriser l’univers Warhammer avec Warhammer 40.000 : Mechanicus. Le fan service est présent et avec une narration classique mais qui reste plutôt fidèle au background. On apprécie également toute la maîtrise dans les mécaniques de RPG plutôt simples mais avec une bonne profondeur comme le gameplay au tour par tour, qui pioche dans certaines licences tout en apportant la touche de fraîcheur Warhammer. Même la partie exploration en mode jeu de rôle papier est grisante jusqu’au bout, et donne un côté addictif dans son ensemble. Concrètement, et hormis un aspect technique faible et pas bien optimisé, une certaine répétitivité dans les situations et dans les décors ainsi qu’une bande-son limite et un côté trop bavard, Warhammer 40.000 : Mechanicus est clairement un jeu mélangeant exploration et stratégie au tour par tour qui fonctionne du tonnerre de dieu, et ravira certainement les nouveaux venus comme les fans hardcore. Le soft est un peu relevé certes, mais avec toutes les qualités dont il dispose avec notamment une interface console propre, il n’y a pas vraiment de raison de le bouder.
