As such, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a hard game to recommend. The remade presentation as a whole is terrific, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped is a totally enjoyable retro platformer. But, the problem remains that the first two games simply aren’t very good. They are hindered by control and level design issues which are simply unacceptable in a straightforward platformer. Even when they’re firing on all cylinders, the first two titles struggle to rise above mediocre. The strength of one game cannot bear the weight of two clunkers unfortunately, making the N. Sane Trilogy a tough sell, especially when there are many great platformers on the Nintendo Switch already.

The Crew 2 n'invente rien et n’excelle dans rien, et il n’est pas vraiment joli. Pourtant, osons le dire, on l'aime bien ce petit gars. En misant tout sur l’arcade décomplexée, et en remplissant son titre de nouvelles façons de jouer, Ivory Tower a enfin trouvé la meilleure façon d’exploiter cet énorme monde ouvert, et l’a transformé en un bac à sable gigantesque. Pas de quoi révolutionner le genre, bien entendu et tout ceci est somme toute assez classique. Mais la formule fonctionne et pour peu que vous vous laissiez prendre au jeu, vous aurez bien du mal à lâcher votre manette.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is possibly the best shooter campaign available on the Nintendo Switch, with some impressive graphics. The image can be occasionally blurry, and the game definitely runs better elsewhere, but this is a great example of technical wizardry on the behalf of Panic Button, not to mention a brilliant shooter for all Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy.

NieR Automata è ora disponibile per Xbox One, e questa notizia dovrebbe bastare, da sola, per indurre tutti i possessori della console Microsoft all'acquisto del biglietto. L’opera di Platinum Games diretta da Yoko Taro è un’esplosione di virtuosismi misti a suggestioni artistiche di vario genere, che attingono tanto dall’industria videoludica quanto dal cinema e dalla migliore letteratura di fantascienza; il tutto è amalgamato in una formula ludica tanto solida quanto coraggiosa, che continua a trovare i suoi punti più deboli in un end game troppo povero per un action RPG e in un comparto tecnico che presta il fianco a qualche calo di performance di fronte a un gameplay così adrenalinico e spettacolare. La Become as Gods Edition su Xbox introduce tante, piccole migliorie ai difetti fin qui delineati, portando sugli scaffali dell’utenza del colosso di Redmond una versione definitiva e più rifinita in rapporto all’originale: i contenuti inclusi nel formato, tuttavia, non rivoluzionano più di tanto un’esperienza che, già di per sé, rappresenta una gemma assoluta nell’industria videoludica moderna. Le skin aggiuntive e il controverso DLC impreziosiscono le mancanze ruolistiche a cui Platinum Games non ha saputo far fronte, ma l’innovazione più gradita è incarnata da un’operazione di leggera, seppur non sostanziale, rifinitura sul piano estetico. A prescindere da qualunque add-on, NieR Automata è una perla fulgida e delicata che qualsiasi amante degli action game dovrebbe possedere. Gloria all’umanità!

An interesting attempt to blend roguelite elements within a narrative and a welcome return to Prey’s quirky alien world. It won’t be for everyone but it’s a satisfying, fun and challenging experience for fans of one of last year’s best games.
