Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 finally lives up to its name, standing as an all-star platform fighter. Not only is it a fantastic sequel that takes criticisms of the first game to heart and sends them to the blast zone, it expands way beyond those adjustments. Decent (if samey) single-player options with a good amount of challenge, a training mode clearly made by people who know exactly how to construct a platform-fighting laboratory on a level rarely seen, and stellar rollback netplay bolster a supremely fun fighting system. The excellent new Slime mechanic then elevates it to a new level by introducing a huge amount of creativity to every character in its impressive roster without making it unapproachable for the party game audience. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 belongs among the greats of the platform fighting genre – and the moment I’m done writing this, I’m going back for more.

Une simple mise à jour de FM23 pour Sports Interactive ? Oui et non. On attendra avec impatience la révolution attendue dans Football Manager 2025 avec un nouveau moteur graphique, un nouveau cap annoncé par le studio londonien, mais Football Manager 2024 propose tout de même quelques nouveautés pour titiller les habitués. Si les championnats féminins ne sont toujours pas présents cette année, gérer une sélection nationale masculine est bien plus intéressant. On retrouve avec plaisir la base de données et des paramètres sans limite, boostés par les licences des coupes d'Europe et même le moteur graphique daté en match offre des animations plus convaincantes. Enfin, le lancement d'une partie est réajusté avec le choix entre un scénario qui colle avec les réalités de la saison actuelle ou votre propre scénario, ou même la possibilité de reprendre votre sauvegarde de FM23. Des ajustements bienvenus pour passer des centaines d'heures supplémentaires cette saison à dénicher les talents les plus obscurs et remporter enfin la Ligue des champions avec un club auparavant en D3 anglaise.

The Invincible is a prime example of trying to fit a square peg of a story into the round hole that is the medium of video games. While the premise and story both contain worthwhile parts, the light, pointless gameplay built around it could be much better, as it lacks any depth to its puzzles and is weighed down by too much tedious walking around lifeless locations that feature impressive backdrops but empty foregrounds that aren't worth exploring. There’s only so much even a likable protagonist like Yasna can do with a story, environment, and mechanics that don’t give you much to do until you’re seven hours in. If you are looking for an enjoyable sci-fi story about space exploration and mystery, your time would likely be better spent simply reading Stanislaw Lem's 1964 novel, The Invincible; at least your imagination won’t be as limited as this game seems to be.

The Invincible offers up plenty of sci-fi intrigue, but even as a fan of walking simulators, the gameplay just falls too short of the mark. I still enjoyed my time on Regis III, but there were definitely ways to improve the experience.

Oui, un simulateur de marche peut se montrer bon, lorsque la narration a l'impact nécessaire pour captiver du début à la fin. C'est le cas avec The Invincible. Difficile à dire si cela vous donnera envie de lire le roman. Relire la même histoire différemment semblerait un peu étrange, comme une suite qui n'en est pas une... En revanche, découvrir plus d'oeuvre de Stanislas Lem, pourquoi pas ? Par exemple Solaris. Ou alors continuons et adaptons le rigolo Bréviaire des Robots en point'n click ? En tous cas, si vous n'êtes pas trop faché avec la SF pure et dure, The Invincible vous fera voyager un temps.

Doit-on vous conseiller en l’état Headbangers : Rhythm Royale ? La réponse sera plutôt un oui entre timide et confirmé. En l’état, le jeu vous procurera de très bonnes sensations, et vous promettra de passer de très bonnes soirées entre potes (uniquement en ligne malheureusement). On pourra cependant espérer que lors de l’évolution du jeu des mini-jeux plus variés vont arriver au fil du temps.
