The Invincible is a prime example of trying to fit a square peg of a story into the round hole that is the medium of video games. While the premise and story both contain worthwhile parts, the light, pointless gameplay built around it could be much better, as it lacks any depth to its puzzles and is weighed down by too much tedious walking around lifeless locations that feature impressive backdrops but empty foregrounds that aren't worth exploring. There’s only so much even a likable protagonist like Yasna can do with a story, environment, and mechanics that don’t give you much to do until you’re seven hours in. If you are looking for an enjoyable sci-fi story about space exploration and mystery, your time would likely be better spent simply reading Stanislaw Lem's 1964 novel, The Invincible; at least your imagination won’t be as limited as this game seems to be.

Oui, un simulateur de marche peut se montrer bon, lorsque la narration a l'impact nécessaire pour captiver du début à la fin. C'est le cas avec The Invincible. Difficile à dire si cela vous donnera envie de lire le roman. Relire la même histoire différemment semblerait un peu étrange, comme une suite qui n'en est pas une... En revanche, découvrir plus d'oeuvre de Stanislas Lem, pourquoi pas ? Par exemple Solaris. Ou alors continuons et adaptons le rigolo Bréviaire des Robots en point'n click ? En tous cas, si vous n'êtes pas trop faché avec la SF pure et dure, The Invincible vous fera voyager un temps.

Football Manager 24 es tan complejo como entrada a la franquicia como cualquiera de la saga, pero recompensa como casi nunca a los veteranos. Non seulement RoboCop : Rogue City est fidèle à l'œuvre d'origine (au point de s'inscrire comme un prolongement), mais il offre par sa seule existence, sa technique et son game design une vraie réflexion sur le médium. C'est souvent le propre des satires populaires : dénoncer tout en étant des produits de leurs temps. Rogue City n'invente pas grand-chose, et il est même parfois bas du front. Mais c'est justement en transformant le joueur en robot ultraviolent au service de l'ordre (et de la population), en justifiant sa brutalité et quelques absurdités du jeu vidéo moderne par le simple fait de jouer RoboCop, que le titre interroge. C'est finalement dans cette identification souvent radicale que le médium a écrit son histoire, et c'est en l'utilisant comme il se doit que Teyon compose la sienne. Il serait aisé de croire que tout cela est facile à mettre en place, mais la générosité évidente, un certain sens du détail ainsi que le soin apporté à la progression nous rappellent que ça ne l'est pas. Produit à licence et sorte de faux blockbuster contemporain, RoboCop : Rogue City est à sa façon un travail d'auteur, de précision et une belle mécanique... avec une âme ?

If your goal this Halloween season is to scare up some heart pounding, palm-sweating first person horror action, Quantum Error should be low on your list of priorities. Its stylish and unsettling camera work suggests a depth and mystery that just is not here. Instead, you’ll be terrorized by some extremely stupid and repetitive monsters and tortured by a painfully austere checkpoint system that comes with sometimes-gamebreaking respawns. Weapons are competent but rather mundane for the rich and moody sci-fi setting, and the ghost of missed opportunity haunts the firefighting system, which appears robust mechanically but is given almost no opportunity to justify its inclusion at all.

WarioWare: Move It! is another amusing entry in one of the goofiest series Nintendo has, with wonderfully original multiplayer modes saving the day after the microgame playlist quickly starts to feel tedious. Even with motion controls occasionally not being able to keep up with your actions, the uber-creative ways Move It! finds to make you perform unspeakably silly acts is truly something to behold. It may very well become a staple for me and my friends, and if those you hang out with have no problem performing humiliating acts like using your rump to build a snowman, then you’ll probably enjoy it too.

Quando si parla di rally Codemasters è una garanzia. Questa nuova simulazione targata EA si presenta ai nastri di partenza con un’offerta che vanta un ottimo equilibrio tra quantità e qualità dei contenuti e che mette al centro, come da tradizione, l’esperienza di guida. Non mancano alcuni inciampi sporadici, eppure EA Sports WRC vanta una carriera avvincente, un parco auto di tutto rispetto e un modello di guida profondo, impegnativo e appagante. Parliamo insomma di un must-have per gli appassionati di questa disciplina sportiva.

EA Sports WRC es un gran juego de rally en cuanto al manejo se refiere. Los coches se sienten muy diferentes y realistas, y las distintas superficies te obligan a adaptar tu conducción para ser rápido. Cumple en lo importante y ofrece una experiencia sólida para jugar en solitario, pero los modos online se quedan cortos y gráfica y técnicamente necesita más trabajo.
