Immortals of Aveum, de par son histoire, a un capital sympathie évident. Il est le jeu de toute une vie pour un développeur qui sait de quoi il parle, la raison d’être d’un tout nouveau studio, un AAA indépendant, qui n’en est pas vraiment un… Pour le joueur, c’est un FPS très nerveux qui sort des sentiers battus tout en proposant un feeling que l’on connait déjà. Le titre d’Ascend Studio fait passer un très bon moment si l’on met de côté ses problèmes techniques évidents qui le desservent malheureusement un peu. Mais le fait est qu’Immortals of Aveum propose beaucoup de choses à côté. Un univers riche à découvrir, tout un monde à explorer, des combats très nerveux bien qu'un peu chaotiques… Dommage que la technique ne suive pas toujours sur PS5, parce que l’on aurait ici un FPS magique plus que solide, alors qu'en l'état il manque cruellement de finition. Ce n’est pas un rendez-vous raté pour autant, juste un rencard qui aurait pu un peu mieux se passer, mais qu’on a quand même bien aimé.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is a very enjoyable speedrun-focused platformer with plenty of collectibles and genre clichés. It isn't revolutionary to platformers, and it runs very short, but if you don't mind the price tag, it's well worth a try.

Fort Solis presents a thrilling story with fantastic visuals, exceptional voice acting, and heart pounding suspense. What it may lack in mechanical gameplay is more than made up for by really feeling like you are playing a movie. Don't be surprised if you can't put it down and play straight through in a single four hour sitting. I will definitely be checking out Fallen Leaf Studios future projects and Fort Solis has even won me over to the Walking Simulator genre. Don't miss this one.

Lo adereza todo con una historia sorprendentemente compleja para su género y con una dificultad estimulante que invita a variar continuamente nuestro estilo de combate.

Immortals of Aveum is an impressively confident first-person shooter that successfully trades muzzles and magazines for mages and magic. Its fast-paced, spellcasting combat is both satisfying to master and spectacular to look at, and it features a lengthy and hearty campaign packed with secrets to keep us going well after the story has wrapped. As someone who desperately hopes that unapologetically single-player shooters will live forever, these Immortals have done a great job of making sure they’re definitely not dead yet.

Immortals of Aveum presents us with an interesting new fantasy universe in which magic replaces bullets, but in practice it doesn't quite hit the mark. Despite solid fundamental action, combat can quickly become difficult to read, devolving into a dizzying swirl of colourful effects. Solid presentation and performance lead to some visually arresting scenes, even if the story isn't particularly memorable. It's a good first effort from Ascendant Studios, and the potential is absolutely there, but there's a feeling that the team bit off a little more than it could chew.

Fort Solis es un proyecto, ante todo, curioso. Me cuesta dividir su lógica base de experiencia cinematográfica del hecho de que este medio se caracteriza por la interacción del jugador. Juega a un nivel diferente, quizá inferior al de los juegos de Quantic Dream y similares. Está en tierra de nadie. Es un aperitivo de muchas cosas, y quizá una experiencia agridulce. Sin embargo, su naturaleza de película de terror espacial bien llevado, con mimo y buena mano a la hora de llevar la tensión adelante, hacen que su condición de "peli de domingo por la tarde" no me haya disgustado del todo.

Fort Solis Fort Solis ci ha trasmesso una sensazione piuttosto netta. Da un lato, abbiamo percepito la volontà del team di sviluppo di mettersi in gioco, anche ricorrendo alla professionalità di grandi nomi come Troy Baker e Roger Clark. Dall'altro lato, ci siamo trovati di fronte ad un titolo sfortunatamente impalpabile, tanto ludicamente quanto narrativamente. Il team polacco Fallen Leaf si è dunque ritrovato, suo malgrado, a fare il passo più lungo della gamba. Il risultato è un'esperienza thriller a sfondo fantascientifico che, nonostante l'appeal cercato dal marketing, scivola via senza sussulti e punti esclamativi. Un titolo dunque adatto unicamente ad una fugace serata senza pretese: un vero peccato. Immortals of Aveum est un jeu qui va diviser. Certains n’accepteront pas les errances techniques, d’autres auront du mal avec l’univers magico-technologique particulier, et ceux qui cherchent une maîtrise à la Doom seront déçus. Pourtant, il faut laisser une chance au soft d’Ascendant Games, car la proposition possède de vrais atouts. Son rythme, son contenu plutôt généreux sans tomber dans un quelconque excès, avec de l’exploration gratifiante, un peu de plateforme et d’énigmes, sans grande prise de tête certes, mais dont on apprécie la présence. Sans parler de sa direction artistique et la fraîcheur de ses combats. Avec ça, l’expérience reste agréable à parcourir, ne tombe pas dans la redondance, tout en apportant suffisamment de challenge à qui le veut. Si vous en avez marre des FPS solo un peu trop sommaires, jeter un œil par ici.

Immortals of Aveum è la dimostrazione che delle valide meccaniche di gameplay, unite a una realizzazione generale tutto sommato discreta, possono dar vita a esperienze di gioco single player in grado di poter dire la propria in un mercato dominato da giochi live service e miriadi di proposte free-to-play. L’epopea di Jak nel regno di Aveum regala un piacevole intrattenimento grazie a un approccio libero e variegato a combattimenti quantomai stimolanti, proponendo al contempo momenti in cui emerge il lato più avventuroso e posato dello sparatutto di Ascendant Studios. Le piccole e grandi sbavature di carattere tecnico spezzano però l’idillio magico di un gameplay non certo originale ma indiscutibilmente efficace, a cui non basta neppure una componente ruolistica piuttosto articolata per coprire gli alti e bassi di un frame-rate poco stabile. Immortals of Aveum resta comunque una proposta più che valida nel campo degli sparattutto in prima persona single player, seppur non riesca a entrare nell’esclusivo club degli shooter da giocare almeno una volta nella vita.

Immortals of Aveum è uno sparatutto sorprendente, senz'altro diverso dal solito, caratterizzato da un'ambientazione molto peculiare e suggestiva, ben supportata da un comparto narrativo magari non originale ma capace di coinvolgere e appassionare con i suoi personaggi ben tratteggiati. Sulle prime un po' incerto, il gameplay prende piede rapidamente, catapultandoci all'interno di arene spietate e frenetiche; che da un certo punto in poi diventano forse troppo ostiche, suggerendoci di ripiegare e potenziare il personaggio sfruttando le possibilità di una struttura che però da questo punto di vista non viene minimamente approfondita. Visivamente si è cercato lo spettacolo e le ultime tecnologie, ma le console fanno fatica: scopriremo a breve se per una questione di mera ottimizzazione o di capacità hardware limitate.
