MLB The Show 23 doesn't reinvent the genre, but the franchise continues to stand as one of the best on the market. The gameplay is fantastic across all phases of the sport, and the line-up of modes has been improved thanks to the addition of Storylines. There is still room for improvement, but The Show remains a contender for best sports title of the year.

After a somewhat disappointing 2022, it’s amazing how far forward Sony San Diego has pushed MLB The Show 23. It seems like every element has received attention, whether its the improved scouting in the Franchise mode, updates to match the current MLB rulebook, or a vastly more helpful practice mode. This remains a gorgeous showcase for baseball, with some of the most lifelike sights and sounds to behold in a sports game. It remains to be seen if Sets and Seasons in Diamond Dynasty will frustrate in the long run, but the crowning achievement this year is the Negro Leagues mode. This playable piece of baseball history is a triumph, presented with care, grace, and attention to detail. It’s courageous and bold, like the pioneers it highlights, and it’s astonishing to experience something so affecting from a baseball game. If for nothing else, that alone makes MLB The Show 23 a must-play.

MLB The Show 23 is a better all-round package than last year's outing, thanks in large part to the new Storylines mode that adds a well-presented and educational history lesson for players to get involved in. In terms of this Switch port, presentation is perfectly acceptable, with the expected graphical downgrades made, but the frame rate can still be troublesome in places, making for play that feels sluggish in comparison to other platforms. This issue aside, though, this is a solid port that brings all the modes found in other versions of the game, making for a decent overall option for MLB fans.

MLB The Show 23 si conferma essere il miglior titolo simulativo in circolazione per quanto riguarda il baseball. Tantissime opzioni per adattare il gameplay in base alle proprie esigenze e svariate modalità per soddisfare ogni palato. Gran bell’aggiunta la nuova storyline della Negro League, che consente di conoscere un importante fetta della storia di questo sport finora poco considerata. Il fronte tecnico si conferma solido come da tradizione, ma l’età comincia a farsi sentire, assieme a delle crescenti esigenze di rinnovamento. Staremo a vedere cosa ci riserverà in futuro il capace team di San Diego Studio!

Terra Nil est une véritable petite bombe indépendante. Un jeu profondément apaisant et relaxant mais surtout intelligent. Difficile de passer à coté tellement il permet de vivre une expérience assez hors norme dans le domaine du jeu de gestion. Son seul problème est finalement sa trop faible rejouabilité et son manque de contenus.

In most ways, this game is a worthy follow-up to KeokeN’s previous lunar adventure. It feels like the development team pushed themselves to expand upon the scope and art direction of that game, though not always with the desired outcomes. A new climbing mechanic, disconnected biomes to explore, and some rough-looking character models are noticeable downsides to the increased ambition, but are saved by intriguing indoor spaces and some highly impressive teamwork between animators and voice actors to truly bring the cast to life. Overall, Deliver Us Mars is the weaker-by-a-thin-margin entry in what appears poised to be (at least) a trilogy, and the promise to spend more time with Kat and those she holds dear has me already eagerly anticipating the next.

Il ne manquait qu’une technique digne de ce nom pour rendre réellement hommage à The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners Chapitre 2 Retribution et c’est désormais chose faite. Certes, on sent moins notre impact sur le monde et on aurait aimé découvrir une nouvelle région, mais la formule manette en main toujours aussi efficace procure le fun attendu. L’immersion est énorme, on est vite plongé dans cette Nouvelle-Orléans infestée de morts-vivants des heures durant surtout que même les joueurs sensibles au VR ont les options nécessaires pour atténuer ces maux.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution ha forse poco l’aria da sequel tout court e più quella da versione 1.5 del primo capitolo di tre anni fa, ma a ben vedere le novità non mancano (armi, crafting, missioni notturne, miglioramenti grafici) e la formula survival horror basata su risorse, esplorazione e combattimenti continua a essere tra le più avvincenti, realistiche e fisicamente impegnative nella scena VR odierna. Un approccio forse non per tutti (se siete neofiti della realtà virtuale, vi conviene iniziare con qualcosa di meno “traumatico”), ma tra i titoli della line-up iniziale di PS VR2 questo di Skydance Interactive è sicuramente tra gli imperdibili.

Sans chercher à révolutionner la formule, Terra Nil est un très bon jeu de gestion vous demandant de réfléchir à la meilleure façon de partir plutôt que d'élargir de plus en plus votre empire. Le jeu vous surprendra avec ces mécaniques vous demandant d'anticiper vos actions et vos placements pour répondre au mieux aux différentes étapes en amont de votre décollage. Si l'on regrette sa durée de vie très courte et l'impossibilité de pouvoir disposer de map plus grande ou de personnalisation de partie, le jeu dispose d'une identité largement suffisante pour que vous lui laissiez la chance d'être découvert.

Terra Nil è un'esperienza riuscita, che prova a mettere al centro della scena le tematiche ambientali con un gioco non perfetto, nemmeno lunghissimo (ci vogliono circa 10 ore per completarlo tutto con una bassissima rigiocabilità) e con qualche problema di interfaccia, ma non per questo meno appagante e rilassante. Riportare allo stato naturale porzioni di mondo devastate dall'uomo per qualcuno potrebbe essere un'esperienza catartica, in grado di sensibilizzare su questo tema che negli ultimi tempi è decisamente centrale e delicato.
