Malgré une mise à route un peu compliquée, notamment du fait de déplacements volontairement lourds en début de jeu, Vernal Edge offre une expérience honnête qui saura ravir les amateurs de Metroidvania. On regrette tout de même une interface à peine digne d'une PS1 lors des déplacements entre les îles, mais cette volonté de pousser la curiosité du joueur dans l'exploration et l'immense satisfaction à enchainer les actions en combat, notamment face aux boss, en font un titre qui donne envie d'y revenir avec plaisir.

Whether you want to experience a TV-inspired story of young wrestling talent rising to glory, chop your way to the top at your leisure, take a guided tour of the most humbling moments in the career of one of the greatest to ever do it, or some other more nerdy diversion, WWE 2K23 is worth pinning down. It’s at least incrementally better in almost every way from last year’s entry in that combat feels more rewarding, flexible, and consequential. Where it overachieves, like in MyGM, it starts to finally restore the feeling that we could be on the ramp watching a new golden age of pro wrestling games make its glorious entrance.

You know you’ve just played something special when you’re left with a bittersweet feeling while the credits roll. As I closed the book on Bayonetta Origins, I kept thinking about how it was an absolute joy through and through. From its impressive, fantastical story moments full of childlike charm to its clever platforming puzzles and satisfying battles, this is a superb action-adventure where every piece comes together to create a wondrous playable storybook. Its wild dual-character concept doesn’t really evolve much once you get the hang of it, and maybe its conclusion could have done more to leave a lasting impact. But it’s a journey I’ll cherish all the same, and one that’s been brought to life through a beautiful art style, stellar voice performances, and an outstanding soundtrack. Bayonetta Origins puts a neat little bow on an iconic franchise, and I’m glad we got to see that there was so much more to our beloved witch.

WWE 2K23 prende tutto quello di buono che c'era in WWE 2K22 e lo migliora sotto ogni aspetto, eliminando alcune spigolosità nel gameplay e aggiungendo sostanza ad alcune modalità che cominciavano a sentire il peso degli anni. Certo, c'è ancora un po' di cose da sistemare (l'IA in tag team per esempio) ma VC ha fatto davvero un buon lavoro. Il comparto grafico è stato ripulito per benino, le animazioni dei wrestler sono complessivamente più convincenti e il sistema di controllo offre una profondità sorprendente e una componente tattica inaspettata. Passano a pieni voti la nuova stipulazione WarGames e la modalità La Mia Ascesa.

Digimon World: Next Order era un titolo fuori tempo massimo nel 2017 e lo è ancora di più nel 2023. Pur potendo apprezzare la volontà di rendere omaggio al capostipite uscito sulla prima PlayStation, al gioco manca qualsiasi ambizione di migliorare e modernizzare quella formula, di cui eredita tutti i difetti – resi oggi ancora più evidenti dal tempo trascorso. Non si tratta di un titolo insufficiente, visto che riesce comunque ad offrire una buona dose di intrattenimento (soprattutto per quanto riguarda l'aspetto simulativo), ma ci sono molte opzioni migliori per i fan di Digimon al giorno d'oggi.

2K and Visual Concepts continue to show commitment to this franchise in WWE 2K23 by making necessary gameplay changes and additions to an already-strong core that was established last year. WWE 2K23 then pushes the graphical fidelity forward to the point that it possibly surpasses its NBA 2K counterpart in the grand spectrum of things. The big help coming with cleaning up previous nuisances with the gameplay are a big help while making MyGM and MyRISE deeper will be much appreciated by the community. The Wargames match is going to be popular as everything about it works and the match itself is extremely fun. The new design for Showcase Mode is also a success, but the biggest improvements come in the technical depart of WWE 2K23. While some modes are left lacking, the others that saw more options are great and nothing needed to be sacrificed along the way.

After a tumultuous few years of WWE releases, 2K and Visual concepts have finally been able to begin building on the solid foundations of last year’s game. WWE 2K23 isn’t a huge step up from 2K22 with long load times and a surprisingly unpolished Showcase Mode for John Cena, but the series has still shown growth, considering War Games is pure chaos and MyRise is much improved. The future is once again bright for WWE and 2K, and so WWE 2K23 should be celebrated by fans as though they’ve just won their first world championship.

WWE 2K23 is the best entry this long-suffering franchise has put out in nearly a decade, offering mechanically-sound action, a pair of satisfying MyRise career mode storylines, and a handful of other well-executed, if limited, additions like WarGames. WWE 2K23’s gameplay and presentation could still use some further polish and not all of its modes are must plays, but for the first time in a long time it feels like this series’ star is on the rise, even if it hasn’t achieved main-event status yet.

WWE 2K23 stumbles slightly with occasional glitches and a mode or two that doesn't quite hit the mark, but it ends strong with stellar gameplay, a captivating MyRise/GM Mode one-two punch, and a brutal, chaotic inclusion of WarGames that simply says, "Acknowledge Me."
