Retour aux sources pour la plus mignonne des mascottes de Nintendo. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe nous ressert le même plat que sur Wii mais avec une nouvelle présentation, un accompagnement qui régale et un désert qui va rassasier les plus affamés. La recette est connue, les ingrédients aussi, mais c’est toujours aussi délicieux. Si les nouveautés se comptent sur les doigts de la main, l’épilogue de Magolor apporte assez de saveurs pour pimenter une expérience déjà cuisinée aux petits oignons. Sans innover, cette histoire annexe vient apporter un soupçon de challenge qui manquait au jeu original. Un titre terriblement charmant, toujours aussi agréable à parcourir et à regarder.

Ce qu'Octopath Traveler manquait, sa suite le trouve et l'incorpore avec attention. Si la structure du jeu laissait peu de place aux interactions entre héros, on prend maintenant plaisir à découvrir une aventure plus partagée, tout en maintenant l'individualité qui fait son charme. La formule fait le pari d'un jeu misant sur l'histoire plutôt que sur les combats et le grind, sans pour autant faire de concession. En résulte un RPG satisfaisant à prendre en main, et sort du lot dans la mer d'un genre de plus en plus indigeste. Square Enix tient là le digne successeur aux Final Fantasy d'antan.

Chef Life : A Restaurant Simulator propose ici une simulation de restaurant accessible de différentes manières. Développer son petit établissement en toute quiétude, avec des produits simples mais gouteux, en passant des heures à travailler sa présentation pour satisfaire les instagrameurs, ou au contraire faire face à des clients exigeants voire un peu snobs dans un restaurant contemporain gastronomique où il faut filer droit. Le tout est malheureusement non abouti et un brin répétitif puisqu'il s'agit plus d'une simulation de cuisine, certes un peu libre, avec quelques rares éléments de gestion et de décoration, plutôt qu'une véritable gestion d'entreprise et de restaurant de A à Z.

Chef Life : A Restaurant Simulator ne révolutionne pas le genre du cooking simulator mais fait de son mieux pour proposer une expérience agréable, orientée vers une cuisine gastronomique à base de produits locaux. Malheureusement, le tout est plombé par une technique datée ; les animations sont fades (quand elles ne sont pas inexistantes) et les déplacements d’une lenteur excessive. Finalement, Chef Life s’adresse avant tout aux passionnés de cuisine à la recherche d’une simulation réaliste et que l’aspect répétitif de la vie de restaurateur ne fera pas fuir.

Relic has taken everything that makes the first two games great and made sufficient additions to help Company of Heroes 3 succeed in this renaissance of RTS titles. While the visuals are improved and more detailed effects are there, the overall look still feels dated and the lacking performance hampers the experience. Having two campaigns is an awesome direction and while one is more streamlined than the other, the Italian Campaign revolutionizes the way to do a single player campaign for an RTS. The AI in skirmish is downright frustrating and the trouble with online multiplayer is unfortunate. What makes Company of Heroes 3 great is the growth within the actual gameplay and the subtle details experienced along the way.

Breakers Collection is a colourful pixelated 2D fighter that has only four attack buttons to use so it's good for players looking for a brawler that is more simple than other fighting games out there. The second game offers online crossplay for people looking to take on other players around the world, though sometimes it’s hard to find matches to play in.

As someone who enjoys the tactical action of Blood Bowl, I can easily recommend you go pick up Blood Bowl 2 Legendary Edition and have a gorey good time with it. As for Blood Bowl 3, though, I struggle to come up with a reason it needs to exist other than that someone has bills to pay, I guess. There's less reason to recommend it over its predecessor than an especially weak year of Madden or NBA 2K. It's a sloppy, muddy, buggy rehash of a better game. Sure, the strong core mechanics can still lead to some tense, exhilarating matches, but you could have all of that with a much sharper presentation in the version that came out during the Obama Administration.

Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is an enjoyable romp through a demon-infested castle. It’s not without its shortcomings as the gameplay is simply good but not exceptional and the story seems like a generic anime demon-hunting affair. Its shorter playtime works in its favor, though, as it never gets a chance to overstay its welcome. It can be completed in roughly six hours or so, but completionists will be able to get more time out of it by exploring every nook and cranny and unlocking all three endings. Shortcomings aside, this is still a well constructed tribute to Castlevania and scratches the itch for fans wanting a new entry in that series.

After the Fall è in definitiva uno sparatutto co-op divertente e dal gunplay molto solido, penalizzato sul lungo tragitto da una generale penuria di varietà. Al netto di un ritmo sostenuto, che ammicca ai classici light gun shooter da sala giochi, il titolo di Vertigo Games può risultare godibile anche per i giocatori più sensibili alla motion sickness, grazie alle numerose opzioni disponibili per il comfort. La Complete Edition tirata a lucido per PSVR 2 può beneficiare inoltre degli upgrade tecnici del visore, a partire dall'eccezionale feedback aptico dei Sense controller che riesce a restiuire un feeling ancora più viscerale all'uso delle armi. Avendo un focus incentrato sul multiplayer, il ciclo di vita del gioco dipenderà in larga misura dal supporto post-lancio e dall'affluenza di utenti sui server, che speriamo che grazie al cross play possa mantenersi buona, almeno nel medio termine. Se vi siete mai chiesti come sarebbe giocare in realtà virtuale a un emulo di Left 4 Dead, After the Fall è semplicemente la scelta giusta.

Like A Dragon: Ishin! is a great game, but doesn’t do much to stand out against other games in the series. The story and setting are novel and interesting, however, the combat lacks any sort of balance. Even so, the excellent melodrama is worth seeing through to the end.
