Atomic Heart souffle le chaud et le froid entre un gameplay convaincant au global et un scénario qui traîne en longueur et à des personnages antipathiques. Il reste néanmoins un jeu agréable à parcourir grâce à des sensations fluides et à un univers de toute beauté.

Company of Heroes 3 is a triumphant return to the game that raised the bar for Real-Time Strategy. With unparalleled action on the battlefield, that alone makes it work your while. The new grand-strategy campaign is a welcome addition, though it has some flaws, ranging from performance issues and bugs to simply being too easy. Despite this, it's impossible not to recommend Company of Heroes 3 for the excellent game that it is.

Atomic Heart is a deeply ambitious, highly imaginative, and consistently impressive atompunk-inspired attempt at picking up where the likes of BioShock left off – something it’s done with a lot of success. It certainly makes missteps, chiefly with an irritating leading man and a self-indulgent habit of using the same tired tropes it tries to make fun of, but this stern, superpowered, and stringently solo shooter has worked its way under my skin despite these flaws. Atomic Heart didn’t always blow me away, but it definitely has the ticker to punch well above its weight.

Atomic Heart est un jeu à la direction artistique unique. Nous avons adoré l’ambiance immersive se dégageant de cet univers alternatif soviétique dans lequel se déroule l’histoire et les graphismes très beaux ajoutent une dimension supplémentaire à l’expérience de jeu. Toutefois, Atomic Heart peut également se révéler très frustrant dans la construction du jeu et l’exécution de ses idées pourtant très intéressantes.

Atomic Heart unisce al fascino e alla struttura base di franchise quali BioShock e Fallout una narrazione originale e avvincente, supportata da un gameplay decisamente interessante. L’alternanza tra poteri speciali, garantiti dal guanto CHARLES, e l’utilizzo di armi più “classiche” (fucili, pistole, asce) si arricchisce di una possibilità di personalizzazione profonda, la quale favorisce diversi stili di gioco senza compromettere l’esperienza o la difficoltà complessiva, quest’ultima sempre tarata verso l’alto. Atomic Heart è molto più di un classico sparatutto in prima persona: è anche un’avventura dinamica, presenta puzzle ambientali, lascia spazio a fasi esplorative o d’azione, offrendosi quindi come una delle esperienze più soddisfacenti e variegate di questo inizio 2023. Alcuni limiti sono evidenti: nella chiarezza dei potenziamenti, nella struttura dell’open world nelle fasi all’aperto, oltre a una monotonia generale nei nemici e negli ambienti. Ma pur senza raggiungere la vetta dell’eccellenza, Mundfish garantisce un mondo di gioco incredibilmente affascinante, dal contesto indimenticabile. Non lasciatevelo scappare: è anche completamente doppiato in italiano.

Atomic Heart n’est pas qu’un simple Bioshock russe, bien qu’il s’en inspire énormément, c’est une certitude. Le jeu de Mundfish a en réalité un lore plus profond qu’il n’y paraît en plus d’être intéressant. Les enjeux ne casseront pas trois pattes à un canard, mais ils sont largement suffisants pour nous tenir en haleine. Notre héros et son acolyte sont bavards, mais jamais lourdingues et le jeu oscille constamment entre drame, réflexion et humour, et ça fonctionne. Visuellement, c’est un carton plein. La direction artistique a de quoi rendre fou et techniquement, c’est superbe sur PS5. Les détails sont légion, et le jeu impressionne sur bien des tableaux, notamment sur ses effets spéciaux (lumière, pyrotechnie, flou, etc.) mais aussi avec ses animations dont certaines sont franchement bluffantes. Alors, oui, il y a quelques couacs comme une poignée de textures pas folichonnes, des bugs résiduels ou des problèmes de rythme, notamment durant les cutscenes souvent très moyennes, voire ratées pour certaines. Mais malgré ça, difficile de ne pas prendre son pied. Atomic Heart reste une valeur sûre. Une excellente surprise même.

This mashup of shooter, stealth, and RPG wears its influences proudly but rarely matches them. Its alt-history setting is interesting and there are plenty of ways to approach the robot-killing, but these elements are at odds with messy storytelling and characterisation.
