Véritable lettre d’amour aux shooters des années 90, et plus spécifiquement ceux de id Software, Prodeus n’a pas à rougir face à ses aînés. Il se dote en effet d’une réalisation au look rétro particulièrement convaincante, d’un level design de génie, et de sensations manette en mains tout bonnement jubilatoires. Le tout est servi avec un contenu très solide. À moins de vingt euros, les amoureux du Fast-FPS auraient bien tort de se priver !

No More Heroes III is a pleasant sendoff for Travis Touchdown – especially so now that it’s no longer stuck on hardware that couldn’t keep up with it. The lack of performance problems make it so much easier to enjoy its wide variety of combat encounters, eclectic minigames, and zany story sequences. It comes at the cost of its other flaws becoming more pronounced, but it’s still a brash and daring passion project from a Grasshopper Manufacture that continues to do whatever it desires.

No More Heroes III caters to a niche segment of gamers. Because of how well it embraces its absurdity, it’s a title not easily digested by everyone, but this is a must play for fans of Grasshopper Manufacture’s unusual approach to world building. Conventional battles are interspersed with unusual side job minigames to bring variety to the gameplay, even if mowing lawns to raise money for ranked assassin fights feels shoehorned into the plot. No More Heroes III’s quicker loading times and sharper graphics on PS5 are a welcome upgrade of the Switch version, but there are no other improvements or additional content to make a strong case to get this version if the original release is in one’s game library.

Auteur designer Yoko Taro successfully blends his oddball knack for storytelling, defying typical video game conventions in doing so. This leads to an unforgettable story, but how it's told and demands repeat playthroughs is bound to be lost on some part of NieR: Automata's audience. Regardless, NieR: Automata blends intense action and RPG components into an atmosphere and game that's well worth experiencing, even on the Nintendo Switch.

Nonostante siano già passati cinque anni, NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition è stato in grado di affascinarci e tenerci incollati allo schermo come se fosse la prima volta. La meravigliosa colonna sonora, le incantevoli ambientazioni, la sceneggiatura incalzante, commovente, carica di emozioni e colpi di scena sono solo alcuni dei pregi di Automata, che vanno a sommarsi a un cast di personaggi scritti divinamente, una regia magistrale e una realizzazione tecnica che lascia a bocca aperta, anche se si tratta solo di Nintendo Switch. Un gioco nel quale è difficile trovare difetti, se non per gli elementi comuni di ciascuna run che potrebbero scoraggiare chi, la prima volta, si ritrova a doverlo ricominciare per scoprire tutti i finali principali, ma che sa premiare (e punire) i giocatori più audaci e coraggiosi. Se non avete mai giocato NieR:Automata e vi piace giocare su Nintendo Switch, specie in portatilità, The End of YoRHa Edition saprà stregarvi e rimanervi nel cuore molto a lungo.

Après une version PC ratée, NieR : Automata déboule sur Switch dans un portage honnête qui n'évite cependant pas quelques heurts techniques. Qu'importe l'aventure est à null autre pareille !

Nier: Automata vive degnamente su Nintendo Switch. Il port è competente, il prezzo è corretto, il prodotto è perfettamente giocabile e l'avventura merita come poche altre di essere vissuta appieno. Rimane sempre quel costante mix di felicità e goduria nel giocarselo in portabilità, portato un po' in basso dal senso ormai palese di un compromesso tecnico assolutamente non banale. I fotogrammi dimezzati non uccidono l'esperienza, né la impoveriscono, ma sicuramente non riescono a dare quel senso di immediatezza e appagamento completo delle versione per altre console. La risoluzione e l'offerta poligonale sono ovviamente portate verso il basso, a favore di un flusso di fotogrammi che aiuta il gameplay a rimanere equilibrato e onesto. È un port corretto, realizzato con maestria, che sottolinea ancora una volta come quei limiti di Switch ai quali negli anni ci eravamo abituati oggi urlino la propria dimensione con sempre maggior forza.

While my major issues with the game’s writing, tone, and design remain unchanged, the PC port of No More Heroes 3 shines without the constraints of the Switch. The open world is very unoptimized, but if you have enough hardware to throw at it performance is far more acceptable. The game works great on Steam Deck too, letting you experience the alien murder fest wherever you go in gorgeous quality.

LIGHTKRAVTE’s biggest technical contribution is a character animation system that allows for dynamic gestures and facial expressions. It’s not used throughout the entire game, so there are often CGs between animations, but it helps bring the novel characters to life, especially since there’s still no voice acting. Coming from a doujin, it’s an amazing feat that when coupled with Konatsu’s attractive artistry, offers visual delight. This is undoubtedly one good-looking novel that strives to look like anime, with a camera that occasionally zooms and pans across gorgeous backdrops. Pleasingly, LIGHTKRAVTE’s user interface is convenient and responsive. The title offers 32 save slots, which is sufficient for a non-branching kinetic novel. If you miss part of a conversation or soliloquy, an upward twist on your mouse’s scroll wheel brings up the backlog. Save for a couple of typos, the novel’s localization is adept, with language that subtlety signifies social class. The first hour or two of fault – StP – LIGHTKRAVTE probably won’t provoke interest. But give ALICE IN DISSONANCE latest a bit of time and it will gradually and insistently pull you in. While some unanswered questions arise after the conclusion, these are outweighed by moments of reflection, occasional instances of humor, and tides of emotion. Even if we don’t get to see Khaji again, it was time well-spent and provides insight into Rughzenahide’s rich history.

Cute and fun for a period of time, Lemon Cake is a familiar comfort food. Small slices taste good, but consuming the whole cake in a few bites is just going to give your stomach the rumblies.
