The games contained in the Arcadia Bay Collection are still excellent, but the updates made here make these the objectively worse versions. The motion capture updates to Life is Strange look fantastic, but are hard to see through more realistic textures that look out of place compared to the water color style of the original. If you can, stick with the original games on PC, but if you’re a console player this is an acceptable way to experience these incredible stories if you can look past the issues.

Come sempre, ogni nuovo capitolo di questa serie fa un passo avanti e uno indietro, senza mai riuscire a discostarsi troppo dalla sua posizione. The Beasts of Burden porta nuovi personaggi e nemici, nonché un importante e piacevole cambiamento del sistema di combattimento, ma va a limare altri aspetti che invece meriterebbero di essere espansi di più. Rimane comunque un gioco piacevole, forte di una storia à la Taro Yoko con personaggi ben scritti e tematiche interessanti. Insomma, uno di quei porti sicuri dove approdare quando si cerca un gioco capace di intrattenere mantenendo la sua familiarità.

On the field, EA Sports has offered an even deeper and more immersive experience with FIFA 23. HyperMotion2 doubles down on what was introduced last year with more animations that can be seen and experienced during play. The machine learning AI continues to grow as this remains the best AI in a sports game. The reaction, the flow and the strategy from the AI is excellent. Pulling off new shots, dribbles and getting the perfect pass to finally score a goal is rewarding. There are plenty of ways to try and pull plays off and this always keeps things fresh during the game. Pro Clubs is fantastic with its online aspect and VOLTA remains a fun mode, but there isn’t a lot that has changed with the modes in the game. The Women’s World Cup, which has been heavily advertised as a feature, isn’t available at launch. Cross-play is also limited to mostly FUT, which is disappointing and the team even released a statement that they knew going in that this was disappointing. This just opens the door to maximize the amount of FUT players rather than prioritizing a mode that will have more players at once. What makes FIFA 23 so great is the product on the field, but the lack of change in the locker room brings it down a notch.

Comme un but décisif annulé pour une position de hors jeu, FIFA 23 manque le coche. Il parvient à sublimer un moteur Frostbite définitivement vieillissants et les nombreuses animations ajoutées via Hypermotion 2 rendent les ralentis saisissants. Malheureusement, à cause de collisions incohérentes et buggées, un jeu qui semble posé sur des rails et basé sur la vitesse et la profondeur, le gameplay n'est définitivement pas à la hauteur. L'ajout du tir puissant sonne comme le coup final sur la simulation pour basculer définitivement vers un jeu arcade. EA Sports ayant l'habitude de déployer des patchs bouleversant la façon de jouer, nous resterons très vigilants à ce qui pourraient sortir dans les semaines à venir.

Che FIFA 23 sarebbe stato un capitolo di transizione, prima del rebranding ormai imminente, lo sapevamo un po' tutti. C'era quindi il fortissimo rischio che il simulatore calcistico di EA Sports arrivasse sul mercato mutuando ogni oncia della sua offerta ludica dalle precedenti edizioni, e se questo pericolo si è rovinosamente materializzato se guardiamo a quanto poco impegno lo studio ha infuso nella riforma delle modalità di gioco, il nuovo FIFA è anche quello che applica un vero e proprio miracolo di gameplay, dopo anni di oscurantismo. La metodica riscrittura dei comandamenti tanto cari alla serie produce un modello di gioco a tratti marxista, nel quale è la manovra corale - e mai il singolo - a portare alla vittoria il gruppo. L'ultimo FIFA sarà quindi ricordato come il più innovativo? Assolutamente no, ma probabilmente come quello più divertente. E questo in qualche modo assolve i suoi artefici da molti dei peccati commessi.

FIFA 23 supone la evolución de un camino que comenzó con FIFA 22, el de la implementación de la nueva tecnología Hypermotion 2, una adición que le sirve al título para modificar el ritmo de los partidos, mejorando moderadamente lo expuesto hasta ahora. No es una revolución, pero termina aportando más novedades que su antecesor.

Dorfromantik ha una doppia anima: quella di esperienza rilassante e quella di puzzle game in cui tentare di ottenere sempre un punteggio più alto. Riesce nel suo intento proponendo un gameplay immediato, che ben si adatta a Nintendo Switch: sistemare le tessere per costruire la propria regione e la propria cittadina è piacevole, complice una direzione artistica che dà all'occhio la sua agognata parte. Nel complesso, parliamo di una proposta interessante nel panorama dei giochi votati al relax, che può avere un appeal sia nella nicchia di chi cerca un'opera rilassante disimpegnata, sia in quella di chi ama sfidare i suoi stessi punteggi per migliorarsi.

Return To Monkey Island è un titolo che si presenta come un eccelso erede dei classici originali. Il gameplay modernizzato lo rende appetibile davvero per chiunque: sia per coloro che hanno amato i vecchi titoli, sia per chiunque voglia cimentarsi in un’avventura spensierata, umoristica, ma mai banale. Attenzione però: non osate giocarci senza aver prima completato The Secret Of Monkey Island e LeChuck’s Revenge!

Valkyrie Elysium is a game of two halves. The level design and objectives feel at least two generations old and the characters and storyline are more like placeholders than the finished article. There's no capital F feelings here or much in the way of narrative justification, but if you're okay with that and you just want fifteen to twenty hours of fast, frantic, fluid combat then we can just about recommend this one.
