The Diofield Chronicle ha sido una agradable sorpresa. Square Enix se saca de la manga una nueva IP de rol táctico con un combate en tiempo real profundo y desafiante que aporta un toque de frescura al género. Pese a arrastrar problemas narrativos, si te gustan los SRPG y dominas el inglés, este juego puede ganarse un hueco en tu consola o PC.

Agréable surprise, The Diofield Chronicle jouit d’un concept intéressant, et ne démérite pas au niveau de son contenu. Riche, il l’est aussi du coté de son lore, de sa bande originale, ou encore de sa direction artistique, que d’aucuns trouveront néanmoins un brin générique. S’il se pare malheureusement d’un certain hermétisme, notamment à cause d’une introduction nébuleuse, ou que son postulat très sérieux lui ferme quelques portes, il n’en demeure pas moins un titre intéressant, au rythme savamment dosé.

D’emblée, on ne peut saluer le pari lancé par The Diofield Chronicle. Porté par une musique divine et un gameplay aussi ingénieux qu’intéressant, le jeu de Square-Enix est d’une générosité indéniable. Les habitués du genre et amoureux des jeux de rôle tactiques risquent de succomber à son charme "rétro" et ses diverses incantations. Rythmé, plaisant et plus surprenant qu’il n’y paraît, The Diofield Chronicle peine toutefois à tenir la cadence sur la longueur. Les objectifs se répètent, les phases libres n’apportent pas grand-chose et la mise en scène manque d’énergie pour élargir son audience. Néanmoins, pour qui veut découvrir autre chose que les blockbusters habituels et qui n’est pas hermétique au genre, voilà une œuvre qui pourrait devenir culte dans quelques années ou, du moins, trouver ses lettres de noblesse auprès des passionnés. Des jeux comme ça, on n’en trouve pas tous les quatre matins…

Lo studio indonesiano MassHive Media brilla nel costruire una storia e dei personaggi convincenti, e l'idea di vivere la vita di una farmacista in erba - senz'altro originale nel panorama videoludico - si rivela vincente e stimolante per i giocatori. Peccato per un gameplay loop che alla lunga non riesce a sfuggire alla ripetitività, ma si tratta di un titolo che sarà certamente apprezzato dagli appassionati di life sim non convenzionali.

Lost Judgment si conferma anche su PC un sequel eccellente, caratterizzato da una storia davvero affascinante, piena di personaggi molto ben tratteggiati, e dotato di due ambientazioni in grado di offrire scorci terribilmente evocativi, nonché un'enorme quantità di attività collaterali e quest secondarie che vanno ad aggiungersi agli eventi principali della campagna per arricchire l'esperienza anche dal punto di vista della varietà. La versione Windows appare ben ottimizzata e con regolazioni sufficienti a scalare la grafica sulle configurazioni meno spinte: un gran bel lavoro per un'avventura che vi consigliamo caldamente di non perdere.

Shovel Knigh Dig es otro acierto en el universo del caballero de la pala, un roguelite que, sin alejarse en exceso de la fórmula del género y lo visto en otros juegos del personaje, logra darle una vuelta para que se sienta algo fresco. Y lo consigue. Diversión asegurada para los amantes del roguelite más ágil y desenfadado.

Session may be reminiscent of the similarly hardcore 2020 skateboarding simulation, Skater XL, but it picks up where its rival stalled by arriving with a far more substantial map selection, plus a simple campaign that stitches it all together. I also can’t deny the addictive charm of seeking out a spot and having dozens of attempts at sticking a slick trick sequence, for no other reason than it looks cool as hell when you nail it. Despite its unfinished feel and the unflinching precision it requires to play, I really am finding it rewarding and relaxing. However, while Creā-ture Studios’ unapologetically difficult-to-master ode to skateboarding is packed with a palpable love for the sport, it’s also packed with a few too many frustrating bugs – and its unsympathetic tutorial and mission design severely undermines its approachability.

hovel Knight Dig isn’t just a cash-in on the series’ popularity. It’s a game that stands on its own merits as a worthy prequel to the original. The titular hero’s moveset translates perfectly to a more vertical orientation, and Nitrome’s bite-sized level design makes full use of Yacht Club’s well-established gameplay style. The 16-bit-style visuals and music are an absolute treat, especially for fans of the series, and the roguelike elements present a nice sense of progression and replayability. Shovel Knight Dig might not be the exact sequel that fans have been clamoring for, but it’s the next best thing.

Session: Skate Sim is undoubtedly a love letter to skateboarding enthusiasts that embraces the realistic aspects of the sport, but it might not appeal to everyone with its convoluted control scheme, and it still needs more polishing.

The DioField Chronicle ci ha fatto riscoprire diversi elementi che non sapevamo di aver voglia di rivivere. Stimoli dimenticati che riaccogliamo con gioia e con passione, ma che ci spingono anche a volere di più. Lo RTTB prodotto da Square Enix è infatti caratterizzato da molteplici elementi virtuosi ed intriganti, ma non è in grado di soddisfare le sue piene potenzialità, perdendosi in un’esecuzione che non offre grandi sfide, ma neppure una briosa varietà di contenuti. Il peculiare sistema di gioco è godibile e di grande intrattenimento, ma proprio per questo motivo non possiamo che sperare che The DioField Chronicle possa diventare la pietra portante di una saga che sappia far adeguatamente risaltare la narrazione e che coinvolga il giocatore in un dedalo di opportunità.
