Souldiers è un gioco solido, realizzato chiaramente con cura e passione, ma questo non sempre basta. Questo metroidvania fatica a stupire il giocatore in ogni propria componente, che sia artistica, narrativa o di design. Le differenze di classe sono piacevoli, ma non crediamo che molti vorranno rigiocare l'intera avventura per vedere in che modo le classi non scelte cambiano lo stile.

A slightly risque, 2D action RPG is how I would describe Lost Ruins. It has a unique combat system with a wide variety of weapons, spells, and items, giving you plenty of options to tackle your foes. Some might say it has too many options and the constant pausing to swap things around takes away from the gameplay, others will like this approach. Don’t be fooled by the game’s Metroidvania appearance, it lacks a few key components, and you won’t get lost working your way through this linear adventure, but I think it has just enough to keep fans interested.

Lost Ruins should be an OK game for fans of the genre, as it stands though if you play this game and are ok with its art style then as the zoomers would say, that’s sus. A fun gear system, rather nice graphics, and great music are massively let down by a paint by number, creepy as hell story. Technically I might have been interested in what this dev can do in the future, but God damn man. This game is gross.
