Predator: Hunting Grounds manages to serve up exactly what it advertises – a CoD-lite shooter experience that is routinely interrupted by a seven-foot-tall alien murder machine. Playing as the murder machine is as fun as you would expect it to be – however playing as Sgt. BUCK STEELGIRDER can be a little dull when your murderous space playmate is absent. Thankfully, the game has enough passion and charm within it to convince me to stick around and see where the developers take it moving forward.

Spuds Unearthed ultimately feels like a weird paradox of a game that knows exactly what it is as well as having no idea on what it wants to be. In the end, it feels like a convoluted mess that could be more fun and engaging if they just cleaned up and simplified the design a bit. Lack of guidance and clumsy controls further bring down a concept that could look good on paper. However, even without these issues, there is a concern about the longevity of the title, particularly due to its choice to go asynchronous. I imagine the decision was made due to the limitation of the hardware but I would not expect many people talking about this game after a couple weeks let alone months to come, which would be concerning for a game with multiplayer. Finally, due to its complexity and weird mashup of genres, I’m not quite sure who to recommend this game too either (unless you are of course, a fan of classical potato war epics), but I’m going to have to insist that you pass on the fries this time.

You may only play Snakeybus on the odd occasion, but that’s kind of the point. It isn’t designed to be the next big esports title, it’s a game that you can chuck on, have fun with for an afternoon and then go about your day. Sure, it’s rough as shit at points and has some fairly controller-throwing inclusions (seriously aerial mode I will fight you), but Snakeybus is fun as hell in a flash-in-the-pan way, and that shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing at all.

Despite only clocking in at around four hours, The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a game that had me hooked until the very end. Its narrative may centre around sensitive themes, but the quality in which its written and delivered elicits a genuine emotional response. It’s simply a must-play for fans of narrative-driven games.
