Two Point Campus is definitely a great improvement from its predecessor as it gives a proper challenge while having a nice pace so as not to overwhelm players with information on how things work. It still delivers its comedic tone from its aesthetics and choice of sound that will give you a great time. I just wish that the customization could get even options. Hopefully, we will get future updates, but it can wait since I’m already invested in making my elegant campus even in the game’s current state.

All in all, the game is quite mind-blowing for me. It’s something I’m including in my list of games I’d like a memory wipe on so I can play them again for the first time. It’s just that good. The feels are bombastic. The overall plot is great, and the ending is even greater! What makes me dock off a point in the overall score is perhaps the post-game content. It’s disappointing when the game has banked hard on the plot that after finishing it, you just feel forlorn and empty because you want more and there’s nothing there anymore. And I do want more (*cries*). The game definitely pushes you to complete everything in one playthrough because it’s vital to the plot so I am a little letdown that I won’t be seeing much more canon content post-game. But hey, it’s an excuse to create fan content for this! Like Thanos said, I’ll do it myself! Though, I gotta say, playing it for the second time after knowing the whole revelations of the story definitely makes all the character routes sensible and less confusing this time around. We recommend you play 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It’s seriously a must-play.

Edge of Eternity’s shortcomings is understandable considering it was made by a small team, but it seems that the team just lacked the resources that it needed to fully realize its vision. It could’ve also had a stronger story as trying to fit in tons of story ideas in a single narrative can lead to the tale being not as engaging, thus weakening the impression it leaves. Although, what deserves praising is the game’s overall design which you can compare to other RPGs, that is if you don’t mind the awkward character motion and some the bugs that remain in-game. Even with some of its issues, Edge of Eternity has engaging gameplay, loveable protagonists, and lots of hear, making it a game that’s flawed yet fun. If you’re a JRPG fan looking for something differnent, you can consider playing the game for at least one playthrough, and I hope that Midgar Studio’s future project can learn from this game as I’m interested in seeing what they have lined up next.
