The Expendables 2 just doesn't click as a package. It's never anything special. There's lots of action, but it's not exciting. There's an upgrade system, but it's uninteresting. There's a lot of content, but it's just the same stuff again and again. If you want to shoot and clop through the battlefield with friends, cool, but you won't miss much if you skip The Expendables 2.

Deadlight lacks neither style nor substance, and it lasts just about the perfect amount of time. The story is minimal but engaging, and the ending is unexpected -- in a good way. A couple of sections stumble a bit, but not enough to detract from what is an engaging, memorable experience.

Orcs Must Die! 2’s new cooperative mode allows its gameplay to outshine the formidable strengths of its predecessor, but at the cost of piling several punishing difficulty spikes on the single-player mode. Even so, few other tower defense games succeed so well in delivering pure fun, and the extensive upgrades and improvements to traps and weaponry makes slaughtering orcs more enjoyable than ever. It never loses sight of the singular imperative to kill as many orcs as possible, and while there’s a sense that too much has been recycled from the first outing, its unique combination of tower defense and action mechanics reach near perfection here. A qualified triumph for veterans of the first game and newcomers alike.

There’s plenty to do and unlock in the game that would totally justify its $10 price of admission if it actually lived up to its potential. Getting high scores, beating bosses in a quicker fashion and doing everything on a harder difficulty level could keep you engaged, as could the insane Trophy list Malicious comes packing. But Malicious just isn’t a good game and it’s not worth your time. And that’s too bad, because Malicious certainly had a lot of promise. It just doesn’t deliver.

The Secret World flirts with brilliance and – at least, during earlier zones – looks primed to seal the deal. But, as time goes on, its its seemingly bottomless bag of tricks starts to look a bit shallow. The story, world, skill system, and investigation missions definitely do their damndest to rewrite the MMO rulebook, but uninspired combat, ho-hum PVP, uninteresting late-game quests, and general clunkiness keep TSW's smartest innovations from truly shining. More content's on the way, but for now, the reality of TSW can't quite match its lofty ambitions.

If you're as much of a fan of the Asphalt series as I am then you're going to love Heat. It's nice to see that Gameloft is improving each entry while managing to keep the cost low. Race junkies are going to love looking for shortcuts, catching air and blasting their way through the beautiful looking tracks to the sound of energetic techno music.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is proof positive that sometimes all you really need to kickstart a series is to go back to its roots. While there are still a few glitches and notable absences we'd like to see ironed out, we're already dreaming up which levels, moves, and modes we'll see in future DLC packs. Tony Hawk definitely rewards your $15 with equal parts fun and nostalgia.

We’ve known about Dyad for a long time – it’s been in development for several years -- but it still somehow flew under my radar as far as something that really compelled me to play it. But when I started playing Dyad, everything changed. This PSN exclusive offers something unique and fun to the PlayStation audience, and it’s a game I truly think that a wide variety of gamers with an even wider variety of genre preferences can enjoy. Don’t be intimidated by what appears to be a high level of entry. Give Dyad a try and get sucked into it just like I did.

NCAA Football 13 is a great game -- the changes to the core engine are welcome, challenging and exciting -- but the little stuff adds up. Similar modes, audio inaccuracies and visual missteps make a game that's better than last year's on the technical level but lesser as an overall product.

Endless Space is smart, polished and intelligent game of countless permutations. Its strength lies in how carefully and how cleverly it's balanced, as well as how it rewards all kinds of playing styles. We haven't seen a strategy game quite like this in a while.

High-speed thrills hit the wall too soon in the punishing campaign, and despite a solid range of multiplayer, quick race, and time-trial options, progressing through the three distinct eras to unlock all the tracks and sweet rides is a big part of the fun that gets trampled by the clumsy execution.

The visuals aren't stunning, the story isn't crazy exciting, and the missions get repetitive. But The Amazing Spider-Man is fun to play. Webbing bad guys, finding comics and swinging through the streets of Manhattan entertain, and even though I had the story and most side missions polished off in a little more than 10 hours, I'm still donning the red and blue for web-slinging fun. The Amazing Spider-Man isn't a great game, but it can be a great time.

By and large, remakes and reissues for the Wii rarely feel like essential purchases, but we're prepared to make an exception in the case of Project Zero 2. Apart from being one of the most compelling survival horror games of the past decade, there's no getting away from the fact that it still feels as fresh and unique as it did almost a decade ago. And with its thrilling brand of ghost-busting combat making a perfect transition to the Wii, this is an enduring classic that every horror fan should have in their collection.
